❤❤❤ I liked to go to school because, there I could sharpen all my pencils and colors professionally. Toddlers, kids and students like this sharpener from Caran D’Ache. ❤❤❤
This style of pencil sharpener is really popular here in Japan. I never saw one when I lived in the US, but they're all over the place here. When I first saw it I had no idea how to use it.
This reminds of the quality pencil sharpeners we had in our primary schools back in Wales in the 1970s. A work of art. Its a thing of beauty that accompanies your refined world. I love it.
That is a very cool sharpener, and I appreciate the quality you are getting for the money, but a quick browse of Ebay turned up many, many examples of old Boston and Berol/Apsco sharpeners that are selling for $20 or less, including some vintage self-feeding models. My personal favorite of the lot is a Berol Giant I found there that no doubt dates to the 70s and featured ugly simulated wood grain on the housing. 😄
I recently fully took apart a vintage CdA shapening machine for cleaning. A joy to work with! Posted a picture on r/pencilsharpeners in case anyone is interested.
@@unsharpen Switzerland ( or at least my "state",Vaud) provides students with Caran d'Ache pencils and color pencils. At supermarkets is the most represented brand, for shure.Even small shops do have their "corner" with Caran D'ache only products...from 1Sfr pencil to 1000 Sfr colour pencil sets for artists!!
@@unsharpenWell, one suggestion is Uni-ball UB-215 / 217 refillable rollerball? They are available in South Asia and Australia. Thanks and regards from India.
I appreciate the reviews but you should really get your audio in check, its been a reoccurring problem for months at least. It always seems to be either too much to the right or left. With headphones its very irritating to listen to. Maybe consider just using mono audio instead. I like your stuff but Ive actually skipped some videos in the past because of this issue. Maybe on mobile this isn't noticeable, I wouldn't know I exclusively watch on desktop.
@@unsharpen Its constant throughout, so no specific timestamp. In this particular video im hearing the audio a little more on the left channel. What I mean is that the audio is not balanced, its a bit louder on the left side. Maybe is has to do with the position of the microphone/camera.

I just bought one. it does a great job on all my pastel pencils, carbs, Carans, Pitts, Contes, For me, it was worth it.
One hack for keeping the jaws from biting into the wood is to wrap a sticky note around the barrel before inserting the pencil.
Good call! I tried tape but it was annoying

buddy what are your thoughts on pentel pg5, have you ever used it before
What are some other pencil sharpeners like this, which are more adjustable? Or even better than this one?
GET to the POINT...
GET the LEAD out!
High end and "flushing" expensive...even for Swiss standards😅🇨🇭 Never saw one here in Switzerland...neither at schools or public service!
Cda seems to have different lines for students, more affordable pens, pencils etc. there have a plastic sharpener, maybe that was there?

@@NunoxFerreira CDA is way too expensive. Only suitable for the Rich Swiss and others.
I need some help. I'm giving a pen as a gift and I'm between the LAMY Safari (Roller) and the Caran d'Ache 849 (Roller). Which one should I choose?
I prefer the safari. The 849 is more gifty and fancier
@@unsharpen thank you! ❤
On the underside it looks as if the padded feet are out of alignment, not stuck on properly? 00:43
Yes they were a bit off. But they are just little foam stickers
Nice, but prefer pen reviews. Will you do some more Japanese roller ball pen reviews?
Yes, more coming. Any suggestion?

Wow! It’s a great sharpeners but that’s a lot.
Seen at 112€ try see idealo comparison or geizhals etc..
really annoyed with the knob that's supposed to control the sharpness/bluntness of the pencil. My knob won't even move!

Thanks I’ll look into this. I think it’s a mic setting that I’m not noticing with my listening setup.
I’m getting some reverb, which I’ll address. Not sure on the r/l issue. Can you share a timestamp?

Yea it’s quite pricey at retail!
