I was 18 just joined the Military and was addicted to Halo 2. I would watch these guys religiously lol I truly do believe Ogre 2 is hands down the G.O.A.T with that being said as far as winning Walshy needs credit for that here because he was the master mind behind how they attacked each map. His thought process towards beating teams was on another level. My Lord when they picked up Strongside…….. SMDH GAME OVER!
The pebble in the pond made me tear up. These guys are why i love competitive gaming. I’m 30 and still play sometimes. Loved this man. Absolutely loved it
I played against him at one of his lan tourneys when i was younger and this man is on a whole level of his own I played him twice total and managed to kill him a total of 1 time and him and his brother pretty much wiped every event they went to.
Halo 2 MLG Days were Legendary. Going to events with your friends, staying up all night, getting back home and jumping on live after school. I remember the day I first got Xbox Live. I played a Rumblie Pit in Colossus. Got 3rd place. It was over from that point. Throughout Halo 2 I was addicted and went to as many tourney's as I could. Such fun memories I won't forget.
I don't care how many players come close or even surpass his records. The OGRES were and are the greatest Halo players of all time. It's undeniable. Especially in Halo CE it was something to witness in person. I stood behind him and watched OGRE 2 play a FFA on derelict and he had a rough start, was 7th and 20 kills behind the leader. I thought, "wow is he really going to not advance to the next round?" He then proceeds to just stop pushing top mid and go on running riot after running riot on the bottom of the map and goes on to win the game with highest kills, assists, and least deaths. It was literally like watching magic happen. Although my career never really took off unfortunately, they inspired me to try to become pro. It wasn't the best idea for me in 2003 when there was no money in Halo esports, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. All hail the GOATS of Halo!
I remember going to MLG Chicago, probably 2005 or 2006 and playing the Ogre twins in a game of foosball with one of my friends. We lost 10-0 in about 5 minutes.
I’ve always said Ogre 2 deserves the same or greater recognition in the esports pantheon of GOATs as Flash, Faker, s1mple, and Fatality. Just on sheer statistics and accolades alone he is nearly unmatched. He is a true pioneer. The fact that the voting for this list was even remotely close for the top spot is embarrassing. He should be a unanimous number 1. Ogre 2 is the greatest Halo player that will ever play the game and probably the greatest console player ever, full stop.
Man I played so much halo CE when In high school . Always dreamed of going and competing against top dogs like Zyos, Darkman, StrangePurple, Saiyan, Killer N, Ogres and others. Never did, always regretted it
Never too late man, people are still LANning CE these days. I regret never competing back in the early days too. I drove 7 hours to UGC Atlantic City in 2019 and actually went up 2-0 on Zyos in the CE 2v2 tournament before he slapped me back in my place with three straight wins. Was surreal to go up against a legend like that all those years later in a real tournament. He was very humble too and talking to any fans who heard he was there and wanted to meet him.
I remember I would occasionally get put in lobbies with the pros like Ogre 2’s and all the other names. I was so happy if my team even got to 20 kills in a slayer game against them. Dudes were unreal
@@chazzbranigaan9354 my point is the skill difference is significant between the pro’s and people who were just 50’s in MLG. I maybe have had some games where we were in the 30’s against pros but definitely never the 40’s.
@@lobolex305 I get your point I just never found them to be that much better than anyone who could get 50. Decidedly better for sure but not over twice as good
The thing people don’t realize is almost everyone played halo back then. That’s what makes ogre 2 such a great player. There was so much competition back then. I remember my CHURCH even had halo tournament for the youth program and had like 20 teams compete during a lock in. I seriously feel sorry for kids who never got to experience peak halo2/3.
Those halo 2/3 days man.... so good. Before all the ads, pay to play, cosmetics, twitch steamers.... it was just so amazing to experience xbox live in its infancy when everyone used a mic and talked. There has never been anything close to halo 2 and halo 3 in their prime. All of the endless custom matches, mlg games, big team battles, such good memories.
Love when I see videos like this. Hits me right in the feelings. I went to 7 MLGs and am also from Ohio and they were absolute legends, all the way back to H1 tournaments. Big fan of that StK Clan and what they did for Halo.
Man this takes me back. I remember the first time I saw his video on youtube playing CE and couldnt believe what I was watching and how he utilized everything to his advantage.. trick granandes, ricochet sniper rounds, granade jumps etc. Me, thinking I didnt know you could do that and trying it for myself in custom matches against my buddies lol. Then H2 came out and the pro circuit with MLG it was something everyone wanted to go to or even be in. I will never forget when me and my buddies matched him and Karma on Lockout and we went crazy, talk about a rush!. We were so hyped when we beat them by 4 and bragged to everyone how we beat some pro players. the good ol days.
This era of halo was absolutely incredible…I’m 35 and was able to experience all of it…and now halo infinite is out and sure there are bugs and things that need fixed but as far as the gameplay is concerned, I have high hopes infinite can bring back times like this…my days of lan party’s and friends houses gaming are over but I’ll always compete and be the best I can be online…halo has had such a large impact on my life that I just can’t see myself not playing it.
Praise to the almighty ogre 2 but can we take a second to acknowledge another goat. Stephen Rippy. The composer of this beautiful soundtrack bringin u all to tears right now.
I was a young kid when I seen him sweep lobbies of the unfamiliar. He was doing things that were not even thought of yet in the realm of IQ. I studied his fundamentals, the process of assumption and knowing the enemies headspace after clearing the entire team. The spawns they were about to be in, the lanes they were about to take and what they were going to do after you killed one another. He was the creator of that IQ in gaming before it was a thing. He changed my gaming career after I seen the God himself bless me with something that no words were needed to be said, something that just pure skill and actions taught me Thank you 🤙 - "Phenom" An Unheard Gamer.
Playing Halo on XBC before Xbox Live came out was so fun. Would sometimes run into lobbies with Warthogs flying around and tanks in midair. Would find some of the craziest shit in some of those XBC lobbies. Was so fun!
CourageJD literally today (11/22/21) said Ogre2 tweeted him about a Sick Play he made in Halo Infinite. CourageJD said he was going to frame the tweet in honor of the Greatest Halo Player of All Time.
The Ogre twins were playing on XBConnect, I played a few lobbies with them many years ago. Most people don't even remember XBConnect even existed. It was Xbox Live before Live was even a service. So many great memories of playing Halo 1 on XBC.
Spent my my entire adolescence playing halo 2 , mastering the double shot / quad shot with the battle riffle , all of the super jumping, all of the different badges you got for each rank, throwing stickies across the map and getting someone, kilamanjaros, climbing out of the maps, spending hours searching for the mythical golden warthog, when you're one win away from ranking up and on the next game there would be a mod jumping up and spraying you with bullets, making genuine best friends online from all over the world, creating teams and clans, watching all of the montages, seeing people copying pro gamertags and wondering whether it was the real gamer, finding out all the little jumps you could do to get to places quicker , the list goes on
I’m sad that I didn’t get a chance to be a part of the MLG era, my experience with halo back then was playing H1 and H2 on local multiplayer with my cousins😂
Yeah no one can argue Ogre2’s place. Absolutely no way. Just the Halo 2 dominance on its own is the thing of legends. Now across multiple halos, even more mind blowing. I remember watching events on USA network lol. Take me back to the good old days
Makes me a grown man tear up. Played halo from day one with my older brothers and would constantly have system link/lan sessions with my cousins made my childhood. All of the mlg guys were well know and watched em all legends. Damn dont know why but shit makes me so emotional. Such a great moment in time.
they use to bring their own tvs form home to lan parties to play. I miss the old MLG days. When carbon finally beat final boss for the first time, then went on to win the finals. So many good times.
Final Boss.....a legendary name and team. The name fit so perfectly. They were the late 90s early 00 Yankees. A stacked team that dominated everyone for years. Good times.
Ogre 2 is the Goat. No question. Bar none. It’s not even an argument. Ogre 1 at # 11 is a joke but it’s fan service to the younger generation. He was the best player in the world for the first 3 years of Professional Halo. Even better than his brother.
@Brandon K Well I respect your opinion man but Walshy himself has discussed on multiple occasions in interviews that the Ogres were by far the two best players in Halo 1. His Halo history video with STK Tupac spends over an hour on the topic. For Halo 2 it’s up for debate.
I remember being a kid (maybe 12) playing halo 3 all the time, and ran into the ogre brothers on their alt xbox accounts and they added me and we played for a week or so off an on and they gave me tips for the game and were super chill. I had no idea at the time who they were. Absolute legends.
This is the best time in console competitive FPS. This will never come back, I've beta tested the new Halo game, it's just doesn't have what Halo 1 and Halo 2 had.
This was the first and only game I would play everyday and grind out all summer break. We would stay at a friends house who had good internet and play until sunrise and start again after a few hours. The game gave us that before Christmas Day feel. Lots of good times here on H2/H3, I have never came across games this good since. GOAT 🐐

The fact that everyone knew who he was before the internet blew up is insane. 🐐
Man, good ole day just watching MLG for an entire weekend. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were the greatest era for me
This era of Halo meant so much to me. I remember watching Halo on USA back in the day and seeing the Ogres dominate. Gosh, such good times.
this video brings happy tears to my eyes. I'm so glad he is recognized for all he has done. shoutout to Ogre 2 the Greatest of All-Time.
It’s nice to see all you boys back in here. It’s been years.
I miss those days
Damn almost cried watching this man 🥲
Did thats what i commented as well. What the heck :/
The golden age of Halo and esports in general.
Absolute GOAT.
I miss those Halo 2 system link parties we had back in high school 😥 Great times
These videos hype me more than the actual Infinite gameplay! I love it!
SAMEBRO!
Halo Infinite looks amazing though so...
@@JJHewable man I’m so pumped for infinite
Will always be my #1. Literally called him the Master Chief growing up lol.
I remember going to MLG Chicago, probably 2005 or 2006 and playing the Ogre twins in a game of foosball with one of my friends. We lost 10-0 in about 5 minutes.
dude i was there too. my buddy tyler was playing foosball with them as well, and I remember getting gifted an mlg hoody by IIFoxyII or whatever. Wild
Mew2king and the other 3 gods(not hungrybox)
Add Daigo to your list and you literally have the hall of fame of esports
Faker doesn't even have the accolades like Ogre 2.
He is not on the same level.
I’m old enough to say I was there. I competed against Ogre 2 when we were teenagers. I’m honored to say that.
I could see myself and my best friend just teenagers sitting in a dark room paying split screen halo doubles until our mom came to yell at us.
this is the era where i was always at a friends and we played h1-3 together, the internet to me then was a dream
Man I played so much halo CE when In high school . Always dreamed of going and competing against top dogs like Zyos, Darkman, StrangePurple, Saiyan, Killer N, Ogres and others. Never did, always regretted it
A few of them still play MCC. Ran into Killer N, StK Fiddy, and StK PaC. Zyos I believe was playing up until recently. Has a RUclips channel as well.
Played against many of them and with them "online” back in the day, great memories for sure!
@@FinalBossBel nice ya I’ve seen Zyos and follow him
@@XeroEncryption nice!
Are you lying? Anyone who had a 50 in MLG played many pros. Getting 40 kills or even winning against them wasn't that crazy. 20 🤔. Sounds like a lie
Decidedly better for sure but not over twice as good
@@chazzbranigaan9354 at the end of the day what made the pros better was their teamwork skills
@@chazzbranigaan9354 i got top 4 and 3 in FFA against them at their lans. And i was just a dude who helped set up TV and shit at the mlg events..
Dude I did the same thing at my church growing up lol! Back in the days when I was actually good.
Damn your church was badass
Ogre 2 is the greatest halo player. Regardless of skill he has won more than anyone in multiple eras of the game.
We were so hyped when we beat them by 4 and bragged to everyone how we beat some pro players. the good ol days.
wow, love this channel, thanks for capturing this critical era of my life
I'd love to see a full documentary on this.
Skill is one thing but knowing how to win is another.
Ogre 2 changed my life. He was the reason I loved halo and met some of the best friends I still have today. Tom Ryan is the GOAT
Praise to the almighty ogre 2 but can we take a second to acknowledge another goat. Stephen Rippy. The composer of this beautiful soundtrack bringin u all to tears right now.
The GOAT! This vid makes me shiver and pumps me up. Nice production
Ogre 2 has every right to be #1.
I sent this to my buddies who aren’t into eSports and told them to check it out. I hope they do because this is legendary.
He changed my gaming career after I seen the God himself bless me with something that no words were needed to be said, something that just pure skill and actions taught me Thank you 🤙

👍
Playing Halo on XBC before Xbox Live came out was so fun. Would sometimes run into lobbies with Warthogs flying around and tanks in midair. Would find some of the craziest shit in some of those XBC lobbies. Was so fun!
Its even funnier that both them look like they are half asleep
Well, at least they got #1 correct. Nothing but respect for the GOAT!!!
I played both the Ogre twins and Walshy on Xbconnect and GameSpy tunnel. Man I miss the Golden days of Halo!
I remember those days, such nostalgia!
Best days of my life watching MLG and Lanning with my friends. Life’s went by so fast the Ogres will always be Halo Legends.
I am literally in tears right now
Spent my my entire adolescence playing halo 2 , mastering the double shot / quad shot with the battle riffle , all of the super jumping, all of the different badges you got for each rank, throwing stickies across the map and getting someone, kilamanjaros, climbing out of the maps, spending hours searching for the mythical golden warthog, when you're one win away from ranking up and on the next game there would be a mod jumping up and spraying you with bullets, making genuine best friends online from all over the world, creating teams and clans, watching all of the montages, seeing people copying pro gamertags and wondering whether it was the real gamer, finding out all the little jumps you could do to get to places quicker , the list goes on
This is a masterpiece 👏 🙌. Long live those days.
I’m sad that I didn’t get a chance to be a part of the MLG era, my experience with halo back then was playing H1 and H2 on local multiplayer with my cousins😂
Bring back so many memories from XBC an XLInk Kai days because I was to young for a credit card to get XBox live, halo 2 was my favorite
The feels man, the feels. Hats off to the GOAT.
OG MLG halo days are something all of us 25+ are going to remember for ever
Yeah no one can argue Ogre2’s place. Absolutely no way. Just the Halo 2 dominance on its own is the thing of legends. Now across multiple halos, even more mind blowing. I remember watching events on USA network lol. Take me back to the good old days
Makes me a grown man tear up. Played halo from day one with my older brothers and would constantly have system link/lan sessions with my cousins made my childhood. All of the mlg guys were well know and watched em all legends. Damn dont know why but shit makes me so emotional. Such a great moment in time.
there's a reason they call it the "ogre twitch"
they use to bring their own tvs form home to lan parties to play. I miss the old MLG days. When carbon finally beat final boss for the first time, then went on to win the finals. So many good times.
Grew up 30 minutes from these guys and playing Halo 1 and 2. Completely blew my mind how good these guys were. It was absolutely insane to see.
I played a bunch of CE with him a few years back and he's still insane at that game.
Happy to have lived through and experience prime MLG days (06-2011)!
1. Ogre2
2. Ogre1
3. Walshy
4. Pistola
5. Snip3down
6. Lethul
7. Roy
8. Lunchbox
9. Royal2
10. Snakebite
Final Boss.....a legendary name and team. The name fit so perfectly. They were the late 90s early 00 Yankees. A stacked team that dominated everyone for years. Good times.
Definitely a recency bias on this list but glad to see ogre 2 at #1. Pistola should be 2 imo
days weeks months years of this is insane halo united us all lets stay that way
I would take it a step further and say that his domination inspired excellence in others even outside of gaming / esports.
Lmao calm down
Chill with that
The H2/3 pro circuit was so fucking fun I haven't seen anything like it since.
Ogre 2 is the Goat. No question. Bar none. It’s not even an argument. Ogre 1 at # 11 is a joke but it’s fan service to the younger generation. He was the best player in the world for the first 3 years of Professional Halo. Even better than his brother.
ogre 1 being at 11 is blasphemy
@Brandon K Well I respect your opinion man but Walshy himself has discussed on multiple occasions in interviews that the Ogres were by far the two best players in Halo 1. His Halo history video with STK Tupac spends over an hour on the topic. For Halo 2 it’s up for debate.
I remember being a kid (maybe 12) playing halo 3 all the time, and ran into the ogre brothers on their alt xbox accounts and they added me and we played for a week or so off an on and they gave me tips for the game and were super chill. I had no idea at the time who they were. Absolute legends.
forever indebted to this dude, he made me better
It was a pleasure to play halo 3 at this time , That was marvelous
This is the best time in console competitive FPS. This will never come back, I've beta tested the new Halo game, it's just doesn't have what Halo 1 and Halo 2 had.
20 years ago almost now me and a friend was able to play with AYB Fonzi and Ogre 2 in a 4x4. we recorded it and everything and won!
I love how Sundance still dresses like it's 2005
I lived this, I remember Dallas 08. I remember so much. Locals and all. LAN parties were by far the best experiences!
This was the first and only game I would play everyday and grind out all summer break. We would stay at a friends house who had good internet and play until sunrise and start again after a few hours. The game gave us that before Christmas Day feel. Lots of good times here on H2/H3, I have never came across games this good since. GOAT 🐐
Most boys 25-30 right now who PLAYED Halo... this was there 1st childhood hero. MJ level in an emerging sport...
