  • Westinghouse, Weston, GE and Queen & Company meters from 1886 until the 20th century. See closeups of construction. These meters were used as part of the Universe of Instrumentation program. Edward Weston developed the PMMC (permanent magnet moving coil) in 1886 and this led to many advancements in meters. With Weston, Thomson, Shallenberger and others AC power systems would have trouble advancing as measurement is extremely important for innovation.

    I have a Weston Voltmeter cover plate just like the one in your video. I had a friend sand blast it. Very nice piece of history . Glad to see the working one in the video!

    I have an old pocket watch type direct current voltmeter and would like some information on it. It does still function last time i tested it. nearly hundred years old made In Talmont New York

      i have about eight of them one of them weighs eighty pounds! It is made by the Westinghouse electric company and it is over 120 years old and it has lights in the back of it. plus it even works
