I just got one of these and am really impressed with it! The tracking is so much better than my old Tapo camera in terms of smoothness and keeping the subject in focus. This is because it has a more continuous pan and tilt motion, rather than the starting and stopping and starting the Tapo did numerous times while a subject walked past. You could never see a face clearly with the Tapo. E30 battery life is great, and the image is very good. It's amazing what features you can get for this price nowadays. Just mount it wherever you have WiFi signal! Quick and easy.
I bought the E30 Floodlight Cam and it has been great so far. I really hope that eufy decides to make an E30 with no flood and no battery. I would replace several cameras I have outside with a version like that. Also. the sound on my E30 Floodlight Cam seems much better than any other eufy camera I have.
My biggest fear with this is the solar panel, I'm hearing just too much noise about Eufy's solar panels failing in short time. Interesting to see your older panel starting to fail. Especially on the cameras with built in solar. Maybe this is different, I hope so. Maybe I need to pull down my 8 year old Arlo 2 solar panels that have glass fronts to see how they are holding up. I'm old enough to understand buy cheap buy twice but I hate buying expensive and buying twice.
My eufy Cam 3 also had this peeling issue and I did make a video on it. I just scraped it off and currently no issues as to charging. My older S40 had the same issue. Just note that the cameras I have are very early models and I know eufy has made improvements on this on their current line up.
I'm glad I discovered your channel but I have some questions, how many meters away can it be installed? Is it possible to install it at a distance greater than 40 meters from where the main router is? thx
Homebase - recordings will be stored to the homebase which is inside your house but it is an extra device and also you have to consider the distance between the homebase and the camera during install. WIFI - if you have a mesh network, the camera will have a stronger and reliable signal because it will connect to the nearest access point of you network.
Hi. Nice review, thanks and congratulations. Do you have any videos or can you tell me here any recommendations for a security camera without a recording center or a lot of wires, that just needs to be plugged in and accessed via wi-fi that is cost-effective for a house that will be left unattended for months? thanks!
Delamination problems should be handled by Eufy through replacement without cost. A possibility to turn the image by 180 degrees should also be provided. This way the cam can be used as an indoor cam temporarily.
It would be really helpful in your reviews if you could mention operating temperature. I can't use my wired ring doorbell camera 4 months of the year because it gets too cold (20⁰F) to charge the battery. I'm looking for pan tilt or PTZ wired or wireless that function below 0⁰F.
@LifeHackster, does the larger solar panel for SoloCam E30 work for the S340? I also have delamination issue and may need to buy a new panel, and if the E30's panel is larger & works better, I might just buy the E30's panel and not the original S340 panel.
I bought the s340 and so far like the features on it. Only complaint I have is it won't track human or vehicles at night only during the day. Wondering if I have a setting wrong ?
@ Yes. It will only track or even identify you if there is enough lighting at night. So, spotlights or its IR needs to be On when it detects motion at night.
Heyy quick question… how’s the actual range between the home base 3 and the cameras? Because my house still has the old aluminum thick siding outside that cuts out a bit on my wifi signal
Sir I wonder if I could tap into your vast knowledge of security cameras and systems? I have three of the Reolink TrackMix POE cameras, and their RLN8-410 NVR. I notice recently when viewing all camera feeds, the quality switches to low, but when I switch back to a single camera, I get the wide angle "clear" view. I know that wasn't always the case. Do you think this is something Reolink changed in one of the firmware updates, or could it be a bandwidth issue? I posted on Reolink forums, but no answer. :(
As always, great video. I’m looking forward to the S340 comparison videos as I just purchased two of them from Costco for Black Friday for the same price you paid for the E30. I’m also waiting for the E3 pro comparison versus the E 300. Does the E3 Pro do 24/7 continuous recording yet?
Which camera(s) have the highest frames per second. I see most of these eufy camera have around 15fps. I read the new eufy spotlight camera E30 has 24fps in a review but don't see it anywhere on their website.
I have tried to get the S340 to work with google home and Alexa and it never does I have two cameras that I need to use a separate app to use they should focus on the software issues before they keep pumping out hardware. I like the cameras and use them but that’s my issue with these things
I think you can delay it if you use car ceramic coating on the solar panel. I have a hunch that the delamination is caused by the suns UV rays and the hot and cold cycling of the climate
I feel like I am doing something wrong… every camera he reviews seems to pick people up really well, but mine seem to completely miss people coming and going often. Makes me nervous about it missing when I am not home. Not this particular camera which I don’t have.
Some cameras have “activation zones” if you will. Angle your camera a bit higher so your targeted recording area of movement is in the bottom half to third of the camera view. Hope this helps.
Just not everyone's installation location is as optimal as in the reviews. The height, tiled angle, and traffic movement direction are important factors to these battery cameras. I have learned my lesson: Wired Cam > Battery Wired Cam > Solar Battery Cam > Battery Cam. Battery camera is the last solution would want to consider, wired camera can last for decade or more, battery camera can last maybe 5 years depending on the battery lifespan
@@Supreme.Shinobi definitely helps. I’ve tried my best to play with angles, almost feels like it’s a time of day thing too. Like certain hours it catches everything and other times it catches nothing.
In your previous video you had a wooden block against a brick wall and used that to install your doorbell camera. May I ask how you attach the wooden block to the brick wall? Thanks
Idk why companies can’t make tiny wired WiFi cameras that support 5GHZ and have a sd card and no monthly fees. I wish wyze put 5ghz in their normal cameras. Any recommendations ?
The only company that I know that seems across the board on their line up have 2.4 and 5Ghz WIFI option are Reolinks but they don't have tiny or smaller cameras except for their Lumus or their E1 outdoors if you can consider them tiny.
@Lifehackster, if I could only buy one of these cameras, which one do you recommend, or which one would you buy S340 or E30? Thank you. I only buy what you recommend. Credibility & trust is everything. 🙏

Thank you sir. This is good buy for $106 currently on sale.
Where?
Yes. It is.
At Amazon.
Hopefully they update the S340 with all the new features. Fingers crossed!
True.
They won’t they want you to buy BOTH
How do the solar models work with the 24/7 recording, I thought they didn’t put the feature on for battery purpose of the solar ?
Wow! The S340 needs the continuous recording when wired. Would love to use this!
If that ever going to have, it will require HomeBase to do it
I know. Hopefully, they will.
7:34 i cant believe you would go into your outdoor basement and not even give us a tour 😂
I just got this cam I am happy so far
Glad to hear!

What is a home base 3? Is it wifi? Or what does it do
I'm glad I discovered your channel but I have some questions, how many meters away can it be installed? Is it possible to install it at a distance greater than 40 meters from where the main router is? thx
Just bought two S340 with the Homebase. You should do another comparison video.
I will soon.
What's the difference from connecting to the regular Wi-Fi router or the home base? What is the advantage or disadvantage of using one of them?
Homebase - recordings will be stored to the homebase which is inside your house but it is an extra device and also you have to consider the distance between the homebase and the camera during install. WIFI - if you have a mesh network, the camera will have a stronger and reliable signal because it will connect to the nearest access point of you network.
@LifeHackster oh ok. For me the issue I have with these cameras is connectivity. I think I stick with connecting to the Wi-Fi router instead
I had to return my S340, it wasnt detecting anything but my Wyze cameras do!
they are hit or miss with the detection range. i imagine eufy's next lineup will fix this.
I'm assuming your Wyze cameras are plugged in.... please watch this -> ruclips.net/video/W6IzldAnu0s/видео.html

Should I get the E30 camera to look at my E30?
Hope it get 24/7 record. Realy like came like this with 24/7
Agreed but make sure to plug it in to setup
Hoping it will be fully functional 24/7 soon.
My S340 solar panel is delaminating to. Still works fine though.
Yes. Mine is still averaging 90-100 percent.
Thanks for sharing. 👍
Lifehackster, would you prefer this or s230 for the car port area??
Nice. I love eury haha🎉🎉
Are these the same mounting brackets as 340
Yes.
Delamination problems should be handled by Eufy through replacement without cost. A possibility to turn the image by 180 degrees should also be provided. This way the cam can be used as an indoor cam temporarily.
ok, so which is better now, the s340 or e30?
I'm waiting for this answer too. I can't decide which one. I like the newer features of E30, feels like it's faster than S340.
Can you have multiple solocam e30 around your home
Yes, but you can only stream 1 camera at a time.
Its to bad that eufy doesn't give more options to mount camera and solar panel to house. If they did it would be a great camera to own.

will the battery last long on high traffic areas?
As long as you have at least 2 hours sunlight hitting the panel a day.
whats the difference with S340 ? missing spot light
Spotlights and an extra lens...and no panoramic quick touch focus... and 24/7 recording if it is going to materialize.
Is this device waterproof?
Love your reviews.

@@LifeHackster I also read the Arlo Ultra 2 4k is 24fps. Trying to find the highest fps wireless, without going to hardwire or poe.

Yes, buy solar panels that have a glass cover like Arlo do. Mine are 8 years old and have worked without failing
Seems like it is a eufy issue and they have made improvements on this.
Zoom quality?
It is digital..not optical. Check the zoomed in snapshots in the video.
does it record 24/7?

It has it in its settings when plugged in but currently not working yet.
