    I just cooked this and finished eating, and WOW! It was so easy to make! I love the anchovy broth, and I added a little extra gochujang and fish sauce because I put my rice in the soup also

    I find u so inspiring...your food is not only full of flavour, but your whole approach to meals is so healthy ... finally, I have found the perfect way to balance a healthy way to eat, without compromising on flavour and spice! I think it's the freshness of your vegetables. ... your table setting always has ample veggies .... maybe it's a Korean approach to food ... whatever it is, u are the most influential cook in my life ... I'm a pastry cook by training, and I've met many professional cooks .... most of them don't have healthy personal diets ... but your food is wholesome and healthy for yourself and the family. ...     I made this tonight for dinner. I didn't have dried anchovies so I just used a vegan chicken broth. I am a vegetarian so I added 2 tbsps of prepared black beans for more protein. This is delicious!!

      @@swatichauhan7912 It's a chicken style vegetarian vegetable broth that essentially tastes like chicken broth. A salty and savory base (sometimes includes artificial chicken flavor, sometimes not), along with herbs and spices that usually go in chicken broth.

      @@swatichauhan7912 it's just a saying - like pleather :). Soup with artificial taste of chicken but made from vegan ingredients. Be careful with the ingredients list though, it could be all plant derived or have some chemical additives since they are not from meat or dairy . Take care

    I've never tried this soup at any korean restaurant before but it looked so appetizing. So I made it and it's sooo good! The large anchovies came in a big box which cost $20 where I lived, so I just went for a small bag of small anchovies for $3 instead. They were harder to clean but still worked.

    Maangchi at 7:34 of this video I see you grow really healthy big Perilla Leaf plant on your balcony, wow it is so big and beautiful! I need to grow some because I never see that in my local Asian market and I want to make your perilla kimchi. I love your channel; I been watching many years over and over and still not see all your videos yet, I keep watching and many times watch same ones over and over again. I have your cook book also but I moved and the books are still packed in my storage boxes so I'm glad your videos and website is easy to find.

    Maangchi, this was the first recipe I tried when I discovered your channel this summer. I loved it so much I grew bok choy this fall! Tonight it is going to be 16F here so I pulled up the last of the plants and made a BIG pot! I hope the soup freezes well. Thanks so much for expanding the world of food for me!

    Maangchi- you got me addicted to delicious soups with pepper powder in earthen bowls! This is a nice recipe because it switches things up a bit and doesn't use so much pepper powder. More stone bowl recipes please?

    I didn't have bok choy so I used napa cabbage and threw in some bunashimeji mushrooms and it was so delicious! Such a versatile and tasty recipe. Thank you so much Maangchi - you are the best. 🙌

    I substitute tofu with fish and fermented soy bean paste with fermented soybean and anchovies with fermented fish.. It really taste good. Thank you Maangchi

    This soup is sooo goood!!
    I bought Bok Choy and did not know what to do with it until I found this amazing recipe!
    I do not have korean soybean paste so I improvised with miso (put it in last) and also added bit of shriracha (really tiny bit as I can't eat spicy food) instead of gochujang and it still tasted so good!
