Why is that intro better motivation to clean my room than actually just looking at the state it's in
Cause when other people point out an issue it's harder for you to ignore it. Same thing that happens with medical issues. People will die of internal bleeding because they ignore their pain or any minor bleeding. Hell even with major bleeding they might just push it off. A lot of people have to basically pour blood form both ends in front of other people to flip that switch of "so something is wrong, I might die" because when other people have seen it it's no longer a personal issue, and that amplifies it's presence mentally.
