Dude they handed out charity awards all the time back then, both the voters and players. Magic got two mvps late in his career that really should have gone to Jordan, but they wanted Magic to retire with the same amount as Bird, who threepeated when one or two of them could have realistically gone to Magic, the media had a gameplan at the start of the 1980’s that was messed up by Jordan’s ascent. Voter fatigue existed in the 90’s with the Barkley, Malone, and Robinson awards, Wes Unseld was a narrative mvp in 1969 over Wilt who had a better season but Wilt was hated by his peers and Unseld’s defensive specialist center game was lionized especially because Bill Russell had just retired and Unseld was the heir-apparent, Dave Cowens and Bob McAdoo each stole one from Kareem. Late 2000’s to mid-2010s you could argue LeBron should have had a couple more (he was better than Drose in 2011, neck and neck with Kobe in 08, and better than Durant in 2014, and that was before the modern nba media had fully crystallized into what it is now (I’m assuming that 2017 Westbrook and 2018 Harden were part of the “modern media trend of fake mvps” when both probably should have been LeBron), 2001 AI and 2006 Nash were both predetermined narratives before the season. I’m not saying that a single guy I listed as winning one they shouldn’t have wasn’t a great player that respective year, but it’s ridiculous to say that the MVP used to be an award they got right every year and that narratives, bad-faith voting, and voter fatigue are a new thing just because you don’t think Jokic should be a 3x mvp.
@@ayriusores272 I disagree, but nonetheless, the fact that he’s won 3 out of the past 4, is still crazy. I have trouble being OK with Joel winning the 2023 MVP because of the Harden-like foul baiting for empty stats AND the fact that Jokic averaged a triple double as a center that same year.

He just need to add more all stars and all nba teams since he has mvps and a chip
Brunson being ahead of Tatum is absolutely absurd
We don’t even know what the mvp means anymore tbh😂
Julius Erving had four if you include the ABA
top 10
I think it shoulda went to Shai or Luka. Just last year everyone was saying "Kyrie can't play next to Luka he demands the ball too much" and now look at em. Shai leading his team to the 1 seed while averaging his efficiency numbers too. The MVP carries the energy of winning into the playoffs not get locked up by KAT Rudy and Naz Reid. That's not even shittin on them I'm just saying.
This is not jokers 10 year😂
I mean…he should have 4. He was the obvious MVP last year but Embiid got the pity/fatigue votes
Miss when MVP was rare and actually well earned
Yup same
Jokic is winning 10 MVP's the voters decide who wins it before the season even starts.
@@mikeywhitten1486 THANK YOU
It was, jokic was the best player in the league
First ever player to average 30+ points per game on 60% efficiency
As an extremely biased nuggets fan I think im gonna call Jokic the goat at the end of his career
people forgetting luka had 70
What's even crazier is he should’ve won it last year, which means that he would have 4 straight💀Absurd shit bro
His first should have been Giannis mvp his second should have been embiids mvp and his 3 should have been Lukas
@@ayriusores272 I disagree, but nonetheless, the fact that he’s won 3 out of the past 4, is still crazy. I have trouble being OK with Joel winning the 2023 MVP because of the Harden-like foul baiting for empty stats AND the fact that Jokic averaged a triple double as a center that same year.
i dont think luka shouldve wont because of his low defensive impact
Jokic does nothing on defense as well

All 3 and Giannis had mvp caliber seasons.
It should've been 4 in a row...
Voter fatigue happens sir!!
He should be out of the nba he does not even care when he wins because he is never happy during basketball
Top 4 vote getters = foreigners
Last 6 MVPs = foreigners
NBA is truly a global sport now, watched by the world and competed by the world's best talent. 🔥
And the streak can continue with Sga and Luka and maybe wemby and Jokic and Giannis can easily be in the mix
Ant is the next American superstar don't be surprised if he takes an MVP. Tatum is a fraud tho especially in the playoffs
Shai should of won just bc of his aura
Still crazy he only got 3 mvp trophys ... he should have 4
4 mvp for one championship?
@@myyololand looks like you dont know that mvp is a season award. By the way 1 championchip is more than shai + luka + embiid combined
@@KingKlose82 What is the problem? That is a valid point. If he stays at 1 championship with 4-6 mvps that should definitely be an outlier, even if mvp is for the regular season. Normally those things are corelated.
Luka and Shai are way younger than Jokic btw, so time is on their side to win at least one ring. Not so much for ring 2 for the Joker
@@myyololand just saying, even if he never wins a playoffgame again, this have nothing to do with mvp trophys. In the last 4 years he was the best regular season Player every year
@@KingKlose82 in a vaccum you are right. But as I said there has always been correlation between MVP number and championship wins. That would be a big stain on his resumé even if rationaly and logically you are right.

Should be his 4th
I’m sorry but u can’t be top twenty if u can’t play both sides of the ball and if u can’t u have change the league massively like curry
Luka nearly averaged a 34 point triple double and still got 3rd😭😭
Luka did not have a real argument for MVP over Jokic or Shai

Sabonis didn’t make the all star game but got a mvp vote 💀💀💀💀💀
I don’t even think joker was top 3 this year if I’m being completely honest, I’m taking Luka, Giannis, and Shai all day but maybe bias
Im happy sabonis did but he shoulda won
Steph missed out on some potential mvp seasons cause kd was on the team
Shaq pulled a Kanye West on him on that facetime LMAO
what did he do?
@@lacer28 he told yoke that shai should of won
There’s something else at play here… Giannis getting 1 vote is insane, and part of me thinks it’s because he and Jokic are so close that voters would rather go with someone who’s skill set is analytically favorable, while Giannis although (we seem to forget that Giannis was seen as one of the best passers in the league as well as praised for his handling ability) is also great on stats, isn’t realistic for the majority of people to relate to. When Giannis was by and far the best player in the league they called him (dominant). Compare that to how they speak about Jokic.
Im tired of so many people only talking about advanced stats they are good and all hut cmon advanced stats are not the only stats mught as well remove normal stats
Giannis or Jokic Andrew?
I do think Luka should have had more points but he didn’t deserve MVP it’s not just Jokic main stats that make him so good but the other stats people tend to look over lol Jokic is too efficient even Luka can’t best his efficiency this is just my opinion but I do think Jokic deserved it in every way possible
Lmao jokic going to be top 20 all time and wont even care about it
Luka would

I wouldn’t be surprised if age plays a big factor in people’s votes
What?
@@emilfrederiksen.1622 Voting for a guy because he’s older and closer to retirement while these younger guys have more time on their side to win awards. Wouldn’t be surprised if that influenced how some voted
Giannis is okay on 4th let's not pretend that he isn't main reason why this is happening to Bucks. But Luka snubbed off at least 2nd place, I'm Jokic guy and I was scared off Luka winning MVP Shai was 3rd/4th with Giannis but that's it first seed give him edge over him but shouldn't give over Luka
Luka is gonna get it next year they anyways make up for the previous year in the following one
ANT says hold my ring
Kd was great this season you just hate him lol
To be fair joker should have 4 in a row but we all know the nba wanted to give the mvp to a black guy for politics.
Bruh voter fatigue happens if it didn’t happen then Lebron and Mj would have like 6 or 7 and Giannis wouldn’t have gotten robbed by jokic for 3 in a row in 2020
@ayriusores272 joker played better than giannis these last 3 years and it wasn't even close. Voters fatigue is just a lame exuse. Yes it happens but you backing up voters fatigue like it's a valid arguement to not have someone mvp is extremely sad. Mj and Bron should have around 6+ mvps.
Sabonis MVP vote: 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Sabonis DPOY vote: 💀💀
Shaq exposed himself as the biggest hater yesterday, he knows Jokic is better than he ever was and he can’t stand it. It was all love until those “Best Big Men Of All Time” talks start happening and he slides down a spot or two.
Lmao at jokic being better than Shaq ever was. Shaq was bullying all time great centers, jokic only has 1 elite center in terms of competition and that guy gets hurt every year
@@ThePhenom10805 name me one person who can stop Jokic currently? Thanks
@@VLE-Grimacebruh you can’t stop him cause most of these guys nowadays are pussies Shaq played in a league that was hard together a bucket in but he averaged 30 points a game some seasons Shaq has 4 rings also and Steve Nash robbed some mvps from him jokic will be better than Shaq when he helps two young players win rings
I think Jokic was given MVP this year because he was robbed last year, but unfortunately in correcting that error, Luka was effectively robbed this year.
First, MVP means Most Valuable Player. Jokic can't win, bro, about to get swept. Now Luka is the most valuable player in the game. He's valuable to his team, but Shai carried a young team to the one seed. Still, Jokic and Luka are close. But Shai and If are saying Luka, then just change award to Most Valuable Offensive Player. Also, Luka sucks on defense, at least Shai leads the league in steals.
As a nuggets fun, Jokic is my mvp, but every candidate had resume to win it, no matter if it was scoring, efficency, seeding, but to say that joker stole it from someone? 26,12,9 on least fta per game, tied record for the first seed, first on almost every advanced stat. People talk about shai leading young team to first seed. Last year Jokic led team who wouldn't be in play in to 1 seed and championship, and this year even weaker team to 57-25 record tied for the 1 seed. How did he STEAL it from someone?
Had to shai get more than luka
So Shai posed to have been 4 and below is what you’re saying? Does taking a play in team to the 1 seed while averaging 30 and playing better defense than jokic and Luka combined not matter? But giannis should Be upset because he finished 4th behind 3 almost clearly more valuable players THIS SEASON? Btw I still think Luka could’ve won it and I don’t think anyone was robbed, I just don’t see how ppl aren’t even mentioning the fact Shai exists
I’m a nuggets fan, I don’t think it was Jokic’s award this year. I think a big reason he won is because he got snubbed last year. Still love him tho
No he was the most valuable player in the league he literally is the reason the Nuggets are a good team the whole entire team runs through him there entire offense.
no, the reason he won is because shai didn’t have a dominant enough seaosn and lukas mavs were a play in team for most of the season

I just can’t believe that he’s a 3 time MVP. He’s never been the best player in the league at any point (overshadowed by LeBron/KD/Curry). He deserved only one of them.
