There was an old horror comic I remember as a kid where a man has a roach infestation. He calls an all night exterminator and when the exterminator shows up, it's a giant roach who exterminates people. Would love to find that one again.
As far as Halloween gimmick shows go, this was really good! Simple, yet effective and fun! Good stuff and really interesting books. Love those Mirage TMNT issues.
Loved the intro...lol. I am super jealous of your pickup of Monster of Frankenstein #2. You got that for a steal. That is a series I am working on as we speak. When I was a kid collecting in the 1970s I was all about super hero books and would not look twice at horror or even war books. Now though, I have a much bigger appreciation of those genres. Though I love Marvel's Frankenstein title, I thought. DC also had some great horror titles during this time such as Ghosts, House of Mystery and The Unexpected.
That’s awesome. I too have a much better appreciation for the horror and military genre now that I’m older, and I agree the DC horror titles are great!
Very cool. I myself shop at the antique shop however i do need to check out the other antique malls/stores etc in my area. 😎 It is fun finding the odd books other than the superhero ones.
I loved the silliness very fun. Nice frankenstein. Sometime if you run into them give the Charlton horror a try. Maybe not as flashy as Marvel or DC but you can run into some fun covers stories and art. And even Ditko art my favorite are the Charlton mummy covers
I'm a big fan of horror I'm happy you did a halloween hunting video that pulp is amazing. I am also a big fan of pre code horror and only currently have one Pulp in the PC
A few reasons I guess, I’m not that into Vampirella, and despite it being a Halloween video I decided to be picky that day… I passed on a lot of things that day I’ve come to regret not buying!
A friend of mine messaged me right after this went live and told me that the TMNT 3 was a special early print variant (called the “Laird’s Photo”) with slightly whiter colors that is worth hundreds if not thousands. I raced back this afternoon but someone had snatched them all up. That’s what I get for not taking my TMNT seriously. Win some lose some I guess!
Hey this was a great video! I loved your spooky opening and what a great time of year to hunt for horror comics. I have a ton of horror books from Marvel, DC and other labels throughout the years. The 70's Marvel horror characters were always my jam, but I really liked what you picked up!
Oh man, that’s tough to answer as I’m new to RUclips… I’m just sort of winging it! Lots of people have asked me the same question so maybe I’ll answer it better in a Q&A at some point, but in short get a good camera and get some practice editing. I do everything on my iPhone, I always have it with me so it’s easy to film on the fly, then I edit in iMovie right in my phone. My advice would be to set up EVERYTHING you need to succeed (channel name, logo, Instagram/social media sites, separate email, etc) it will save you a lot of time and headaches in the future. Then just mess around editing until you understand your software and like what you see! I got my practice doing hiking/mountaineering videos (my other big hobby).
Bring on the Halloween cheesiness! I love it! My folks always had comic books when I was growing up, and I read everything. Superheroes, Archie, the various Harvey titles, but what always stuck with me were those great 70s horror books. I still pick them up if I find a good deal at my LCS or in a thrift store. Great video!
It’s hard to find good deals even in Flea Markets! I thought most books were overpriced but you manage to get some great books! Smart move to be very selective and not buy everything you see! It’s also nice to see your wife helped you out with the video. 👍
Thanks! Unfortunately this was the day I decided to be picky and I found out later that the TMNT 3 was a rare variant worth close to $1k. C’est la vie!
Loved it! Very entertaining! Halloween is all about fun and I can tell you and your family had a lot of fun doing it. One of your videos inspired me to start going to antique malls for comics. Found an Archie's Rival Reggie #4 for $7! It's beat but complete!
Antique shops are much least favorite place to hunt comics. Monster of Frankenstein #2 is definitely a great find and the price was right. Congrats on the win.
I loved the opening! Pretty cool!
Great video!!
Great finds!! The Frankenstein is my favorite
ok i laughed at that opening, thanks for the chuckle
That intro was great!
Super fun vid, I enjoyed the edits lol. Nice pick ups as always !
Love this! Big fan of horror comics/magazines like the pre-code, Eerie, Creepy, House of Mystery/Secrets, Vampirella, etc! Great intro too!
Nice haul and fun video! I have always loved horror comics and magazines. Th as n’as for sharing!
Great intro 😂😂😂

Haha! 😂 great intro and transition. 😙🤌🏻✨ love it
If that’s emoji-speak for chef’s kiss, I tip my hat to you, that’s excellent!
@@lunchmoneycomics feel free to use that one 😉 I appreciate your content. Keep it rollin’

Thanks, I was very excited by that find!

Glad you appreciated it. And yes I like the Charlton horror books!

6:18 made me scared a litte bit🤣
I was having way too much fun!
I really enjoyed this Halloween edition show definitely made me laugh a few times.

Wish l was there to pick up the Eclipse Miracle Man #1. Looked like it was in good shape. What a great series that was. It’s scarily overlooked🎃🎃
I was close on that one, it was the 3D version and I didn’t check to see if the glasses were in there.
Over all you did very nice question, why did you not pick up that Vampirella?
A few reasons I guess, I’m not that into Vampirella, and despite it being a Halloween video I decided to be picky that day… I passed on a lot of things that day I’ve come to regret not buying!
If you ever check out Warlock and the Infinity Watch 7 it also pays omag to Where Monsters Dwell. I saw you passed on a Watch #1 at the beginning.
Thanks! I love hearing from keen eyed viewers!
No. The tmnt 3 was crazy cheap. I want it.

Great books Mike, always fun to watch your adventures. 😃👍🐳
I’m jealous
when you said "it's really hard to do this without breaking the spine" i knew at least one batman 497 was going to show up
Lol that’s hilarious!
How much for that nick fury? If I am ask?
I want to say it was $17? Pretty good condition too.
The only thing scary at the first place were the prices.

Love your content man! What would be your advice if I wanted to make content similar to yours? I would just love to document my comic book hunts!

Upon further review, it looks like you already have all that stuff set up, so just start filming! Great logo BTW!
Thanks man for the advice! Ya I’m trying to narrow down the content I make so thanks for the advice!
Nice touch. The jump scares didn't get me but they freaked out my little Vector robot 😆Yeah that color on Frankenstein pops!
I love watching your videos, it’s so different to everything else on RUclips, always excited to see the new uploads

So happy to hear that! There are treasures everywhere if you just get out and look!

Yeah they are very hit or miss. Most books are over priced AND in poor condition, but sometimes you get lucky.
Love the pre-code horror covers. I'm looking to start collecting them shortly.
Not into horror comics so see ya next video!!!!! lol
Less horror, more “slightly spooky” and some Batman!
@@lunchmoneycomics OK fine I'll man up and watch. #FISTBUMP
