Fun video! You let us discover a new place to buy comics along with you.. And your narration keeps the action moving. Thanks for the mini-lesson on the Marvel movie franchise sales.
That heroes for hope is a definite nostalgia hit for me. I remember seeing it at the grocery store and grabbing it when I was a kid. it was one I definitely looked for when I got back into collecting and glad to have it back! Nice finds!
Good afternoon Michael Great show as always, you always portray the sheer joy we all feel at when we spot a box of old comics, as I have said before here in Australia these shops don't exist and comic finds in the wild are rare, that I why we love watching your great channel. by the way loved the snow! Keep up these wonderful moments of entertainment. Cheers and best wishes to the community of comic lovers. The Gold Key Kid Downunda
Anything Art Adams gets my vote. I remember that Stephen King segment. Chilling! That store has about a half dozen books I'm looking for so I'm mapping out a trip now.
I remember getting that Wolverine #88 when it first came out in 1994. I was really into Wolverine back then & it was the first Deadpool story I read. Back then, I didn't take care of my books (mainly just read them, not to collect for monetary reasons), so I read that issue many times. I have it somewhere in one of my MANY plastic tubs of comics in my closet, raw & beaten up. If I only knew then what I know now.
Great content as usual Mike. I agree with your comment that the story in the books are always better than the movies. No matter what book l picked up with Starlin writing or drawing l couldn’t get enough of it!
DEAR MIKE, SOME AWESOME COMICS YOU FOUND, I HAVE TO GET THE INFINITY GAUNTLET, AND DEFINITELY HEROES FOR HOPE 1, GREAT BOOKS, ALONG WITH WOLVERINE #88!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS DEFINITELY HEROES FOR HOPE #1
Hi! I just stumbled across your channel and subscribed. I live in Leominster, MA about 20 minutes from Jeffrey's and have been there many times. I have just recently got back into collecting so I will be hitting that shop soon. There is a show coming to Boxborough, MA the weekend of March 10th so am saving my pennies for that. Keep up the nice videos.
Cool books and decent reasonably priced as well. I own an X-Force #4 my favorite X-Force comic cover and the best picks you have there are the Infinity Gauntlet 2, 3, 5 and 6. Last year i bought an Infinity War #2 which i'm deciding to start collecting all the Infinity War runs and the Crusades along with Gauntlet runs when and if i can for the first time. I remember back in '91-'92 in 7th to 8th grade, it was the most hottest comicbook story in Marvel history alongside of Jim Lee's X-Men runs in '91 especially the X-Men gatefold cover, which i still have. The only comicbook runs i once owned were the Frank Miller Daredevil Man Without Fear 1993 5 part series, which honestly i wasn't digging the art style of Miller's work. Nice review.
That Wolverine 88 is a newsstand variant .. so feel better on that one!... I was hoping You grabbed it! and i would've grabbed that X Men 158 if it was in decent shape .. 1st Rogue in X Men .. depends on condition though for $10 ...
Fun fact: X-Force 8 is actually NOT drawn by Liefeld, but rather by… Mike Mignola! Wild, right? Cartoonist Kayfabe has a great video all about that one.
Yep, Heroes For Hope deffo favourite of that haul. But very nice prices for some great comics. DC did a similar charity comic around the same time with a great line up of artists and writers that definitely compliments this one; Heroes Against Hunger.
I think 8 out 10 people would've picked up Son of Satan no.1 over Power Pack no.1 lol and thanks for the info on the Wolverine issue I have it buried in a box somewhere 🥺
If your fan of Dave Cockrum's art from the X-Men. He was at DC first he drew Superboy & the Legion of superheroes title. Issues # 184, #188, #190, #191, #193, #195, With #197 the title dropped the Superboy logo to just the Legion of Superheroes. #197-#202. Storm & Nightcrawler was originally going to be members of the Legion of Superheroes. But after drawing issue #200. The wedding issue, DC refused to give him his original art back. He decided to leave DC for Marvel. Where GS X-Men/the New X-Men were born!
I always learn quite a bit off your videos. Which of course I enjoy learning. Just started collecting. Think I will be purchasing infinity gauntlet. Loved Thanos in end game. Is it wrong for liking villains 😂.
I probably would've grabbed those Foolkiller issues. Don't know the character at all, but I love me an ongoing for the most random character imaginable that lasted less than a year
I just got X-Men 166 on Friday! Although you didn’t say how much you paid for it, given the amazing prices I was seeing in the box you were digging in I’m going to assume you paid much less than the $15 that I did. Great finds! I’ve started checking the antique malls in my area and so far everyone seems pretty aware of what they have so no big deals yet.
I think it was $7, which I think was a fair price for its condition. Antique malls are often overpriced but you can sometimes find deals, just have to keep digging!
Marvel Fanfare is such an underappreciated title Mike, the stories are all at least interesting and some rise to the level of brilliant while the art and colours on the quality glossy paper look excellent. Barry Windsor-Smith on X-Men: yes please, I buy anything by BWS, one of my absolute favourites. Nothing says 1980s like celebrities organising benefit concerts and Marvel's Heroes For Hope, although I agree that it's a must-have for the collection given all the creators who worked on it. Thanks for another fun video.
I don't know why antique shops or flea markets think because a comic is old that it needs to cost so much, many of those comics that were in the $5-$7 dollar range can easily be found in the dollar bins.
Got that wolverine book the week after the announcement of deadpool 3 for $2 at a half priced books, a little better condition than the one you got, not by much, but it had the post card inside so it was complete and definitely couldn't pass it up for $2
Sadly, that back corner vendor who had the full booth is no longer there! There’s a little stand of prepriced up front, and a couple boxes here and there spread through the store, but the booth is gone. Too bad, this was a usual stop of mine.
Other great series but many are no longer cheap. Mainly Marvel try out short lived series. Amazing Adventures, Marvel Feature #1-#11, Marvel Premiere, and Marvel Spotlight. Creatures on the Loose #1-#37. (1971-75) Issues #30-#37 featured the Spidey foe Man-Wolf in his own solo series. He first appeared in ASM #124 & #125. Also was the Spider-Man Power Records. Marvel's Power Records issues are all up on RUclips too. The monster ones are great too. I believe their was four superhero ones and four monster ones. Including the Man-Thing. But sadly they never made one of the Ghost Rider or the New X-Men!!
Any chance you could do a video on the following titles. The Man called Nova, Rom Spaceknight, Godzilla, Shogun Warriors, the Champions 1975-77, the Human Fly, and the Micronauts.
I’m only really familiar with a few of those titles, and have mentioned them on my channel before (like Godzilla and Nova) but yeah I’ll keep those titles in mind during my collecting excursions.
@@lunchmoneycomics Ya these were pretty much short lived series sadly. Besides Rom ran for 75 issues and four annuals. And four actual guest appearances in four other Marvel superhero titles. Godzilla ran for only 24 issues. Nova ran for 25, two short stories in two different issues of What IF Vol #1 1977 & 78. Shogun Warriors I think only ran like 19 or 24 issues? Champions had 17 issues and a few other cross overs one was in Godzilla #3. Basically Hercules vs Godzilla briefly. The Human Fly ran for only 19 issues. The Micronauts ran like 65 issues. But the first 12 issues by Michael Golden were the best. Same with the NAM, first 12 issues were excellent very well written and very close to actual military duty. I was a US Marine when the NAM came out and just went through bootcamp in spring of 82.Marvel's Skull the Slayer was a fun read too. Sadly it only had eight issues and a finale in Marvel Two in One. DC's 1978 Firestorm five issues were cool too. George Perez also drew the Justice League for like ten or twelve issues like from JL #184-#186, #192-#197 and issue #200. Which had Firestorm on the team too. DC's Plastic man which ran from 1966-77. For twenty issues. It ran for ten then got cancelled. But was brought back in 76? for another ten issues continuing the numbering. and Metal Men DC Showcases #37-40, Metal Men #1 (1963) #2- #56 (1978) The Metal Men also got cancelled early 70's. Then were brought back again with the same numbering, also were fun reads.
That wolverine book will still sell, but you have to include shipping taxes and your fees to sell the book with all that said and done wasn’t really such a good deal?
Yeah I think it’s a break even kind of thing, but I’m far more likely to trade it in person so I’m not too worried. That being said I did read it… not very good at all lol
Hero’s of hope I have that book had no idea. Now I have to check it out again.
Something about it snowing while walking into a shop to look for comics is so relaxing and peaceful. Nice little haul. Love that Wolverine 88.
Fun video! You let us discover a new place to buy comics along with you..
And your narration keeps the action moving.
Thanks for the mini-lesson on the Marvel movie franchise sales.
Ha! This is really funny. I live 2 minutes from this place and had no idea they had comics there... I'll check 'em out
Great finds and new place to explore! I love the Xmen 166 and Paul Smith's art is a huge treat especially in that issue!
I'm always so jealous of the places you find. I'm loving that Wolverine 88! I didn't know I needed it now I got to have it 😆😆
That heroes for hope is a definite nostalgia hit for me. I remember seeing it at the grocery store and grabbing it when I was a kid. it was one I definitely looked for when I got back into collecting and glad to have it back! Nice finds!
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
I'm trying to film more videos for my channel but I'm still learning the comic book hustle
Always love your love for comics. I really liked you opening up a comic and sharing the interior! Do more of that please!!
Good afternoon Michael

Thank you so much for that great comment! Unless you are on skis, the snow isn’t as fun as it looks lol.
Definitely not too shabby. As a Wolverine fan, the Wolverine #88 is definitely my favorite out of the bunch.
Anything Art Adams gets my vote. I remember that Stephen King segment. Chilling! That store has about a half dozen books I'm looking for so I'm mapping out a trip now.
Very cool! Different art with every page!
Excellent haul, Mike! Really love that Wolverine at the end.
Oh man that heros for hope was definitely the best pick up here. It has some of the greatest of all time worked in that book.
It's always a thrill when you find a new honey hole!
That Power Pack #1 is a Canadian Price Variant! RARE!

Thanks Mike. Great stuff.
Heroes for hope def turned out to be my favorite of the video. Gonna have to search around my area for that one, sounds amazing!
The Heroes for Hope is a great book. It had writers who had never done an X-Men book as well as some artist. That Wolverine book was a good buy.
Great video Mike, I am learning something every time I watch your videos, happy hunting, looking forward to your next video. Rick 😎✌️
"We are Power Pack!" LOL! Great pick ups as always, Mike!
Great content as usual Mike. I agree with your comment that the story in the books are always better than the movies. No matter what book l picked up with Starlin writing or drawing l couldn’t get enough of it!
Great pickups! My favorite is the infinity gauntlet just bc it's my favorite run
Thanks for the video. I'm going to my LCS today and see if they have Heroes for Hope. You made me want to purchase it.
Pretty decent haul, Mike! Yeah, I'd for sure be going back as well!
Great video! Learn something new every time. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your work.

Right, I already have one in higher condition so I didn’t need to pick that one up
That wolverine 88 is a newstand too.
Fun fact: X-Force 8 is actually NOT drawn by Liefeld, but rather by… Mike Mignola! Wild, right? Cartoonist Kayfabe has a great video all about that one.
It’s true! Liefeld did the cover but Mignola was the guest penciler. Great factoid, thanks!
Sweet looking books. Been going for quality over quanity lately.
Keep up the great content. Love the channel
Thank you!
Just picked up a xmen 166 cheap and a 148. Picked up some of those hero books in a dollar bin last year.

George r r Martin was a huge comic fan and reader and was printed in the comments many times especially in fantastic four.
I'd say if you go back there and grab those Groo the Wonder great series and a fun overall read
Infinity Gauntlet gets my vote
I have had 0 luck at antique shops. Everytime I do find comics they’re so ridiculously priced that’s it laughable. Good for you though that’s awesome.
It’s always a crap shoot and I’ve struck out more times than my videos let on
I have the Wolverine 88 Deluxe edition pretty cool cover
I always learn quite a bit off your videos. Which of course I enjoy learning. Just started collecting. Think I will be purchasing infinity gauntlet. Loved Thanos in end game. Is it wrong for liking villains 😂.
Not wrong at all, the villains are often the most compelling characters!
Another great locale.

@@lunchmoneycomics yeah
You want to be friends
Wolverine 88 newsstand so that probably is a good price that you paid
i have 200 plus long boxes in storage.. thats my booth😊
Awesome, wish I had more time to go through them! Sounds like you have plenty to keep the booth stocked!
i do but need to just find time. i use to get some in weekly im going to try get more boxes in.

Issue 4 of the Infinity Gauntlet limited series really shows you how much they downgraded both Thanos, and the Infinity Gauntlet for the MCU.
man $25 i would not have got. just me
I was on the fence about it when I bought it, but I already resold it for $44 so it worked out.
