The time and effort those sellers put in to being part of the show. All those books to transport. Kudos to them for giving the fans a memorable experience.
Great video my friend. Before I get skewered on it, Xemnu is mentioned within the book as a “Hulk” but just as an adjective. This weekend came and went too fast, but luckily you live close and we shall hunt again soon my friend! Sorry that I snore also
Awesome video! I’ve been loving watching the different perspectives of everyone at the show. You got some great stuff done and what an amazing bundle of books you walked away with! Always a pleasure seeing you and thank you so much for the shoutout!!
Dd1 was so epic. Congrats dude. Also that infinty war poster is so sweet. I need one of those! Plus the starling auto was done so classy too. Cant wait for part 2 dude.
What a fun channel. Thank you for sharing. I have to be honest and tell you that I envy you guys. I live in north Mississippi and there is one good store within hundreds of miles of my home. No big events nearby either. It might be a good thing that I am so far away from great conventions like that one because I would certainly not stick to a budget but would spend way too much! LOL I look forward to part 2. Keep the vids coming!
So cool man! Love Starlin! Got a signed poster from him in Lexington, Ky Comicon, 2023! Great guy! And cool getting all those signatures while they are still alive!! Thanks for sharing!!
So cool as a long time watcher of the channel to see you e-meet all these other channels through the years and now watch you all meet up in person. Sad I didn’t go this year but with a baby on the way I have to scale back
Great to see you lads all together for the first fime! That Terry Kavanagh story was my favorite. I've been on the receiving end of calls like that in my career and I wish I had the courage to pull a "Howard Chaykin" response 😂 Congrats on the DD 1!! Funny how things work out sometimes 👏
I've been following you since the beginning, Mike and me being a fellow DD fan, I love that you got his first appearance! Can't wait to see the next part of the con!!
Loved bumping into you and my head was spinning just trying to look for comics. I spent more time meeting people and your fellow RUclipsrs which was a blast. It’s the first time I went to a Con and didn’t have any of my books to be signed. I had the freedom to just look around which was fantastic! Can’t imagine being there for 3 days. Congrats on the DD 1! Cross another one off your list😂
My go to Con is HeroesCon but I might have to give TerrifiCon a go next year. Congrats on your Daredevil 1, that's awesome. I got that same poster and a bunch of books signed by Claremont when he was in Richmond not long ago.
Thanks for a great show Mike. Mind totally blown, that was a dream view of the greatest bronze age comic legends. Great buys, blew yer budget on the first day! Time to remortgage! " Come on honey, it's a great investment, get you a new car from the profits..." So looking forward to part 2. Cheers.
Nicely done, Mike! Daredevil #1 looks fantastic! The Dark Phoenix cover was eye-popping and I really loved the Doom/DD cover, too. It looked like a great time was had by all. This was your best video - cant wait for days 2 & 3! Keep up the great work!
I’m gonna make the trek to Terrificon next year. I haven’t been to a large convention since San Diego in 1984. Shame on me. I live in Rhode Island. Looks great and you put out entertaining videos!!!
Congrats Mike on finally getting your DD1. That's a beautiful 2.0 copy of a white cover book. Glad you got to meet up with all the other content creators in person. People like you make this community awesome.
Man, I had a great time at this one. This was maybe my favorite Terrificon out of the three times I've been. I was only there Sunday, but I managed to beeline through the creators I wanted to see, bought some incredible art prints, and found some awesome comics. I saw that this show and FanExpo Boston are going to be on the same weekend in 2025 - I've met some cool creators and had fun at FanExpo, but Terrificon wins out for me next year. That and the Concord, NH show are two of my favorites that I just can't miss.
Great video my friend. It was a pleasure meeting you at Terrificon, thx for the LMC stickers too. Hope to be able to do a comic crawl with you guys in the future!
Good footage of the show. As someone who does convention coverage, I can always appreciate a look at a con. Especially one I've never been to. And welcome to the DD #1 club!
Great stuff! I met CC about 3 times and each time I cut a window out of the comic bag where I wanted him to sign. I even requested a signature in a specific color and brought my own markers for him to sign in. He was always a good sport and never complained about it. On one occasion he also didn't listen to me and signed directly over his own previous signature, creating a unique double signature from CC. Cool guy!
I couldn't think of a better group of creators to have at the same Con at the same time - each one of them is responsible for such fantastic comics that have stuck with me for decades.
All of the slabs are way above my pay grade but I agree, this convention felt like a new post-Covid era really getting going. It was a blast, panels and guests and vendors were all top notch.
Mike, legendary stuff. Wish I had been able to join you and the team - what a great event! Hopefully one day we'll all be able to cross paths together. Heroes next year and Terrificon the sequel!
Loved your video. Here's my first Daredevil #1 deal. It's 1974 in Winston-Salem, NC. The neighbor of my wife of 52 years had a number one. It was at that time graded as a fine copy. He wanted $6 but I got him down to $5. I complete FF, ASM, Avengers, DD, X-Men. DC Comics I included Flash, JLA, GL and the key Showcase & Brave &the Bold. I had a huge run of Action and World's Finest including manyGolden Age books. Alas, when I went back to college I sold the books to pay my tuition. I enjoy your videos and it brings back many memories for this 73 year old fellow. Also, you could get Stan Lee's autograph for free at cons. Lol.
Jesus, I can't believe how many legends were there! For me it's hard to ever know what to say to them. Bob Layton, I basically just stuck my foot in my mouth.
I just recorded a video for my channel on Action Comics 552 (1984), which is the only the third appearance of Dolphin; I love seeing obscure DC characters in other people's videos.
The books you got were awesome but the best thing you got was hanging out with all those guys! So beyond jealous! Hopefully I can make it up to Terrificon at some point and join the party. Those group chats sound like the BEST time as well! Can’t wait for part 2!
One of the most infectiously fun videos I’ve ever seen on RUclips! What a great time you guys had and me too, at least vicariously! Thanks as always, Mike! ❤
Great video. I love how the creator community was able to come together. I felt I may have had stalkerish vibes waiting to talk to you. Thank you for being as genuine in person as you are in your videos.
I saw you there on Friday getting the signatures from Jim Starlin...I think I was in line for Mark Bagley at the time. I have to agree that if you're only going for signatures or to meet celebrities Friday is the better day...busy but not nuts like Saturday or Sunday. Sooo many comics, by the end of the day it was overwhelming and I had to stop and go grab a beer and some food. Great video looking forward to part 2.
I can't wait till Dec 6th galaxycon Columbus Terry kavanugh will be there so I'll get to meet him Im excited I get to meet one of my favs as well Mark Bagley will be getting like 10 comics signed that day hahahaha
Excellent video. I really like the banners as you walked into the exhibition hall they were extremely cool. I've been watching con videos from the guys that were in your hotel room. That I subscribed to, so it felt like I was there a little bit thanks to you guys and your shows. Mike, I had some luck, I acquired Captain Marvel Number thirty-four: the first appearance of nitro signed on the interior page by Jim Starling. I won this book in a my comic shop auction for ten dollars. To see what the guy looks like in your video is literally putting a face to a name.
Bummed I didn’t run into you on Friday. TerrifiCon is such a great con. Love the video. I got a great video of my wife dancing with Howard Chaykin. He was a joy!
Congrats on the DD #1! And then the guy that got the savage tales #1? I think he got it from one of my favorite people, heroes aren’t hard to find?! I think you ought to come on down to the heroes con !
18:15 he’s a nice guy. He had a book stolen from him in Florida. Not sure what happened to it but it was in a video from the comics den. A husband and wife comic book channel out of Orlando. Super nice people the have house sales and whatnot sales great deals
As a follow-up, I've never chased signatures before and I spent most of the show doing that - and most of my targets were similar. Only ones I couldn't get were Greg Capullo and Walt Simonson. Only had like 2 hours to shop. Was able to trade a slabbed Batman for a Sandman 1 so it was great!
I’ve met Rubinstein I had him sign the full infinity gauntlet set I wanna get more signatures on them then get them graded so they will look nice and be safe
Awesome video! Now I wanna go to Terrificon!! The DD#1 is an amazing buy but now I believe you’ve turned me on to wanting a copy of Dolphin 79. That’s a beaut for sure. Also, do you already have your own copy of Xmen 135? I love my sis but it would be hard to part with that. 😂 Thanks for the wonderful content. I hope your channel keeps growing and you find more and more friends to hunt for comics in strange and unusual places 😁
