I've just brought one of these but what erasers do u use as I got the white ones and it just breaks up btw love all your videos such an talented inspiration ❤
Seriously, why DO we put off the things we love to do? Are we afraid it won't live up to our expectations? Do we feel we don't deserve it? Do we feel we have too many more 'important' things to do first? All of the above? LOL. Ah, the mind games we play. Just DO IT. These stamps came out so cute! The peonies are spectacular! It's even more enjoyable knowing how much fun you had doing this.
You seem like fun to talk about philosophies with! (I mean that in a not sarcastic way I assure you) I struggle with it a lot with reading where I’ll find a book that has exactly what I normally like then get terrified it won’t be what I want it to be - and don’t read it for two years
As a letter press hobbyist a couple of tips for anyone trying this. To get the best detail, use as little paint as possible but spread it really well! Then the paint does not spread around anymore when you transfer the image to the paper. Also fiddle around with the pressure you apply on the paper. Press enough to get an even color, but not too much that you lose detail.
Also, you can make your printing paper damp. Not wet or moist! Damp as in just barely noticeable. You achieve this by using a spray bottle (like for plants or such) and then using a stack of good quality paper. Slightly spraying one side of each page and stacking them neatly on top of one another. Wrap the stack in a plastic bag over night and let it soak. The next day you can use the paper. It should not have shiny wet spots. Just be damp to the touch. Be careful not to rip it. Damp paper takes the paint much better. You will get crisper details and strong contrast. Best to leave the paper flat and put the stamp on top. Then just apply pressure. Good luck.
Probably my crush Ive had for four years and am too scared to tell them. And the fact that they have crush on me and we still haven’t gone on a date. 😐
But when you gonna tell her that we did that too she thinks it’s special but it’s all reused that was our place I found it first i make the jokes you tell to her when she’s with you do you deja ju ha?
I think I said it before but the positivity that shines out of your videos each time is just so inspiring I step away from your videos feeling relaxed. The flower stamp was really beautiful.
A helpful tip for anyone who wants to do this from my teacher is to use a wooden spoon instead of the thingy to push the paper down that way you don’t have to buy it
I did this back in Jr. High school and again in college as basic printmaking. (Easy safety tip below.) I never thought about how well it would work for stamps until RUclips though. Neat video! To help protect us, the teachers had us using home made bench hooks. If you want to be super safe (anyone who reads this) give it a look. They're really easy to create or buy.
I love to see you this way instead of trying to feed into the algorithm. Love watching you do things you love, the happiness is contagious ❤️️ Lots of love Xx
Your prints came out great! The only thing with your brayer is to always keep it on the back/upside down so the rubber part does get ruined or warped! also, when rolling out ink, make sure its smooth enough so it rolls out onto the stamp nice, the texture of it rolled out should look like velvet :) just putting this for others interested in starting printmaking
“I got everything... and some things I didn’t really need but... let’s go home” This is my life as an artist, teacher and musician. You have to go into these shops like it’s a mission otherwise you’ll be trapped lol. I try to validate it with stuff being on clearance or offer which will save money or as an investment.
Love to see videos on this subject because I'm in my third bachelor printmaking (which is cutting lino, woodcut, blockprinting, etching, etc) and I really appreciate seeing this old craft getting some more attention on here ✨
Wow! 😲This definitely brought back a ton of memories. I am 48yrs old and we did this in middle school! The thing you carve is different. It was grey and attached into a cork block! Fun times!
I just found one of my stamps and prints from when I did this in high school and have been thinking about trying it again! We did one where we worked in layers to create a super detailed print. It was a ton of fun and turns out really cool! Mine was a turtle, so first I carved out the basic shape of the turtle and stamped that on a ton of pages. Then I carved out some of the details and stamped that on top of the basic shape, and kept doing that until I had my turtle with all of his spots. It's definitely a technique you should try sometime!!
Those flowers are so cute! I love block printing so it was fun to watch you try it again. One thing that might help next time- if you use less ink on the roller and have the roller even coated it will help preserve more of the details in the block because those little spaces won't get filled with ink.
Ik it’s 3 weeks late, but MIRA!!!!!! This is you 2nd most viewed video ever, well done and only in 3 weeks, you defo deserve this, i really hope, all your videos get as this popular.
I carved a landscape in high school. I've pulled the block back out and used fabric paint to print on shirts I tie-dyed. One of these days, I'd like to carve more.
Peonies are my absolute favorite! My grandma had this really beautiful deep red one in her yard.. when she passed away, I planted one in my yard for her that's almost the same color.
Ahh so excited! I just recently tried this and it was so fun and satisfying. I used all of my supplies up but really want to buy more so I can make more stamps! Love your video as always! 🥰
Hello! Right if yall want to do something similar to this but you can’t go outside still and get the stuff you need, you can use potato’s it makes a similar texture to the Lino. Also if you want ideas for what to print search up the creator of potato prints and the printed tiles. Her name is Peggy Angus she has done tiles for loads of places in London and university’s

This is so cool Mira! A few weeks ago, I finished a book I’ve been writing, and I wanted to do some art for it on procreate. I’m not that good at backgrounds on it tho. Do you think you could do a tutorial? That’d be really cool!
I have spent so much time standing in Blick and then leaving with much more then I planned 😂 I love the video and that last stamp is gorgeous! I really love it!
Beautiful work! And one of my favourite art mediums. I'd suggest using a wooden spoon to press the paper onto the stamp if you're only starting out though. Also, if you have more than one area of colour, divide the stamp up into those two areas to ink separately. That way the ink won't get to dry while you apply the other colour.
I did that in Highschool for art! The blocks we had were thinker and a brownish red with freckles. We also had to do layers with our stamps. I'm broke and lazy. the only thing I can be bothered to do is sleep tbh.

Placing the paper on top of the linoleum and applying pressure was how I was taught while in college. The artwork can’t shift that way.

Loved this!! The flowers are amazing!! If you add a piece of paper between the back of your stamp and the baren, then it will glide.
I did that in Highschool for art!
The blocks we had were thinker and a brownish red with freckles.
We also had to do layers with our stamps.
To do layers you carve out the outline only, like a base colour.
After you stamp it, you continue to carve the same stamp for details. Its like drawing but backwards.
Its tricky getting the picture lined up to the next stamp. So we had to have multiples on hand just in case, cause there's no going back after you carve it a second time.
We had to carve on the same board for at least four times.
