Be real with me, what capture card is the perfect one for your setup right now?
How does this only have one like. Btw love your channel. Helped me out a lot
4K Pro Mk. 2 !!!!!!!!!
4K Pro MK. 2
I honestly don’t know, probably one that works for more than 3 months :/
I use a hd60 pro just cause 1080p 60fps is all I need for my dual pc set up or my console if I wanna hook it up... I have ZERO issues tbh.
Ah, so this is what he was so excited about while complaining about his water cooling setup.
Proof this is a personality channel ;)
6:38 Of couse you couldn't put all the way in, you're trying to put a PCI-E 4x card on a PCI-E 1x slot. It won't phisically fit.
regardless i did actually have the same exact issue and now i am pretty much blocking air flow to my 2070 super. So for some people this info could be a huge help.
I was looking at that as well and I’m like hold up... is he trying to put a PCI-E 4x card into a 1x Slot???! Like m8 that won’t fit no matter what you try 😂
Dude. a PCIE 4X is compatible with PCIE 1X.
Hell. a PCIE 16x card will work with a PCIE 1X. It will work as bad as it sound but it will work.
It's just that some motherboard have stupid PCIE placement
How is it with tearing? Feel like elgato 4K gives a lot of tearing and duolicate frames
Epos Vox covered the technical side better. He covers tearing in length.
Holy widdz. My favorite Swedish person :) I need that elgado that cost 399euros. So Console Ps5 and that card are about same prize almost... I need both. I am buying that card for Ps4 pro anyway so...
@@villeviilee7331 dude just wait out on the ps5 if it costs too much. It's going to be hard to get for a couple of weeks post launch and there will be more games later on. The capture card will hold up for awhile.
been using an AVermedia PCie card for a while now, and i'm absolutely stoked on it, i don't see it mentioned often at all, and it may not be the case for the Duo, but they require no drivers, literally slot it in, and everything is recognised in OBS as it should be... it was a big selling point for me, and i don't believe i've downloaded a single driver for it in the multiple years i've been running mine...
My SO gets so annoyed that I keep all the boxes from electronics. I don't even know why I keep them. My brain just says I need to.
I still have the box my 65' 4k TV came in from 2 years ago. Lol Seriously, it's unnecessary that I've done so. Lol
Super good if you plan to sell something.
Makes reselling much easier
Hay Harris I love companies actually actively getting in contact with people like you and ask what streamers/content creators ACTUALLY want and need! That says a lot about the company.
It's the video that just keeps giving. So many easter eggs on previous streams and videos answered.
I am happy to see Harris from 2k to 345k subs, amazing and inspiring! Keep it rolling my dude!
HurricaneTurtle lets do 1M nowww
Yeah, same here. Started following him when he had like 105K subs. We´ll hit 500K soon at this pace!
Hah! Only 2 minutes in and I am commenting... "... Hate to throw away boxes..." so this is me. I still have my ps4 boxes, tv boxes, all of the phones I've ever purchased... Original laptop boxes starting from oh 20 years ago lol, earbud, headset, watches, digital temperature gun, routers, modems, etc... Mostly electronics related tbh.
I've moved several times and they've come with me. I figured out a way to make them less of a mess... Get one large box, at least 2x3 or close... And fit em all in like a jigsaw puzzle... Helps with the ocd aspect 😊
Love this card just bought it after watching the video and i just had few motherboard issues but was totally my fault. Fixed and WOW! Amazing product. Thanks for the review as always guys
So say for a multi-camera stream - wouldn't this device work to replace 2x camlinks, for instance? Opening up to USB-slots, being built-in and all.
It could, just one slot would be underutilized. Wouldn't be much of a purpose for the 1440/4k high refresh passthrough for a camera.
So happy I found this video while searching dual capture cards. I have a 3 pc setup (racing rig, streaming pc and gaming pc} so having 2 inputs that are both 1080/60 on 1 card could be exactly what I need. I don't use the outputs anyway so only having one doesn't matter to me.
Love your videos man! I have a serious question, most like a dumb question. Pass through a are only for consoles right? All you need to do when using dual PC is use the input for the capture card to link the 2 PC. Idk why I’m coming up on a brain fart with this pass through. I have the 60pro and I still get my 180hz on my monitor and still capture 1080p @60 to stream. So I’m lost on what else pass through is for besides console. Help me out if you the answer! Thanks!
Okay I got a question, I have an elgato hd60 pro, should I use that to stream on obs, or should I just use a regular display capture? I have a rtx 2060 SUPER btw
He Seems to know his stuff he should make a RUclips Channel stream tips
Yeah to help us get started. He should also stream on twitch for us to ask him questions
@Aviation Alex @@flyingpiglet4698 He does know his stuff, and he does stream on twitch for that exact reason :))
Dude I would totally watch every video
is that wade r/wooosh
@@IsThatWade r/woooosh
i taught u might be able to help me with this one but any reason to y once my video gets uploaded to youtube its barely watchable on pc with bad quality but on mobile its perfect ?
Genuine question, Why would I use the cap card "flashback" features instead of the Replay Buffer in OBS?
I love the B-roll footage of you fitting the card during the header complaint. *Imagine there's a PCI Slot there*
I got a question for you run one computer for everything you do and one for your streaming and editing my question is I'm thinking about getting one of the Elgato capture cards and building a system for editing my videos do you need a separate video card along with that or is the capture card work in the place of a video card
Great video, again. This is pretty damn close to what I'm looking for as well.
Funny you mention that zoom issue with the Aver card. I get that with a 4k60 Mk.II. Literally the exact thing. I alt+tab out of any game and it's zoomed on my Win 10 stuff. Also, my cursor is much bigger than what my Win settings are.
I, however, didn't know that scaling setting exists in Win monitor settings so I will check that out and see if that fixes for me.
how do you set up and stream using a capture card? my pc is pretty high end but i can only stream 720p60 because when i stream 1080p60 there is input delay which is a problem since im a gaming streamer.
Wait either I missed it or you didn't say, can you record the webcam and the gameplay/PC separately on the capture card?
When Harris says "I'm not gonna take credit"
It gives me the same feeling as people who come into chat, tell me they just finished streaming or that they are going to stream, then proceed to tell me "I'm not promoting".
Like the exact same feeling.
That’s because it IS the exact same thing 😂
Very soon i will be building a new PC and have been looking for a capture card to put in it. This one will be perfect for that!!! I need a cam link and my capture card currently is dated. thank you so much for your review, love ur content, and keep up the great work Harris!!
Let me ask you this! As I am looking to start using a capture card/device to capture my gameplay from the upcoming PS5 to then use for RUclips videos. Maybe stream live here and there, but primarily post record/edit vids for RUclips. I am new and using your channel to learn about Capture cards. My question, If I have a next gen console, a 2.1 HDMI ready television and cable. Will feeding the cables through this for capture and recording on the pass thru stop me from enjoying 4k 120hz due to the limitations of this cards Pass thru at 4k60?
I run the same 4k 144Hz Monitor, how do you have it setup? If the pass through supports only 4k60 and the capture only supports 4k60 then are you just running the monitor at 4k60?
Welp, not buying a Camlink anymore. I was going to upgrade to an internal capture card (I'm on a Live Gamer Extreme atm) relatively soon. Now, I don't mind selling off my LGX and picking this one up.
I've been using Avermedia for years now and I can testify that their website and apps are horrendous. The cards I've used (LGX and LGP) did the job well enough but had issues at times. My LGX these days has been giving me an "out of range" screen. I need to unplug and replug the USB cable to get the game feed back online. It could be a driver thing (bad ecosystem = user never notified of driver updates). Overall, though, all tech has its issues and their products have never given me severe problems. I will buy the Duo with confidence.
Touching everything with no static strap ( screams in repair tech) lol. Great video
Omg, this sounds like a life saver. I’m running a 4k60 pro and a hd60 pro. Just built a lancool2 mesh rig, running 2 fans as intake from the psu shroud, needless to say, it is cramped from the gpu down.
For Nintendo games the elgato hd capture card works great, want to do more PC games but will need to start a new channel for that since my audience is mostly Nintendo exclusives fans on my main channel, I built the budget PC alpha gaming recommended and it works great for streaming and playing at 1080p 60fps, it was a bit more expensive because of the price gougers, cost about 150 more, but now it's pretty insane where prices are now!!!
noob question over here...
if I connect an external console (N switch, PS3, 4 or 5 etc) to the Avermedia captura shown in the video, will the audio go from the console to the video capture?
or do I need to route my audio in another way?
I am trying to make some gameplay recordings via OBS, but it comes muted, maybe because of my cheap capture card.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
This is a really cool idea, I was really hoping it was a dual in and out card since that would have been perfect for my setup but thinking about it that card would be so specific to people that have multiple systems they use. This 2 in one out does actually make a lot more sense though. Most quality cards are so close to the price already it’d be pointless to not at least grab it Incase you ever want to run another input, it opens the door for so much customization opportunities at better prices and less clutter. Honestly could see myself picking this up in the future.
Back when I got my AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K it wasn't for the 4K but for wonky resolutions by an OSSC linemultiplying retro consoles. Dos the new card handle those?
This is a same price as a Camlink where I live. Would it be worth getting this over a camlink for my stream camera (GoPro)? I am gaming on a PC so don't need to capture / passthrough.
Can you do a video on how to stream using Sony zv1? I have questions about battery life or using a dummy battery
Can you use it for a duel PC setup? I keep trying to run it through Streamlabs and keep getting a weird green screen error. Any tips?
which capture card would you recommend for entry level streamers with little knowledge?
We need to talk about this oversized T shirt.
That shirt is fabulous. 🤙
LOL You DO pay attention to detail.
I love how patchwork it is!
Oversized shirts are cool (not because I wear them)
We need to find the origin of this shirt.
It looks very good. Not sure why it would need to be any more robust than any other internal card that's screwed inside a computer case that never moves. That card would not plug into the lowest pcie slot anyway. It requires a pcie x4 and the lowest is a x1. Maybe I'm wrong?
You can tell he’s pumped for the capture card when he makes the sponsor that short
Ok so I have question from something you mentioned about the stream capture feature Elgato has and Aver doesn't.
Have you ever done a video on that? Like to set it up and integrating it into the streamdeck? I am a dual PC user and I couldn't get it to work right. I just ended up using Nvidia's feature instead.
If you haven't, I would love to see a video on that. Or if you know of any other content creators that have done it, I am all ears....errr eyes.
Thanks again Harris
EposVox did a more in-depth vid about this capture card, good thing is that this one ALSO now has multi-app recording support like the 4k mk2 from elgato.
Thanks for the video. I'm working on upgrading my pc and thought about moving to a different capture card. This is enticing.
I too hate to throw away boxes.. so this is my system- anything that has a warranty I keep the box for with a sticker dating the box to see when I can throw the box out- and I keep pretty boxes for storage item/ display
how dont you have more than a mil subs the content is second to none keep it up
On one hand I like opening nice boxes. On the other, I hate all the waste. I just bought a set of bookshelf speaker and stands and so have a dozen boxes sitting in my vestibule since I can't throw any of them out until the 30 day return has passed.
When is it going to be available in the US? I see it is available in the UK but from their site, the US is still blank and I don’t see it on Amazon.
I just wanna say, harris we all love you, we want the best for you, but obviously some people are just jealous cuz you are successful, don't worry man we support you
So does it downscale 4K to 1080 for capture, or will it only capture if the input is already 1080?
About the flashback recording. Don't you use an Nvidia card? I'm asking because this has that exact functionality built in.
What’s the difference between elgatos flashback and using a program like “GeForce experience “ that let’s you record the last x amount of time you set it too? You could use the avermedia plus GeForce experience to match elgatos flashback no ?
Does it have hdmi 2.1? If not 👎🏾 I’m not understanding why these new cards aren’t coming out future proof... expensive to do? Yes sure but it’s still blowing my mind that AverMedia or Elgato has not done this yet
isn't flashback recording just OBS Replay Buffer?
Did you face the same problem of doubling the size or not without any change in the settings
5:50 - Catching some strong Zach Morris vibes here.
Will the second HDMI input work on non camera sources or resolutions lower than 1080p 60?
Where did you get those cool lights in the background?
I think something like this, but in a portable version such as that elgato one that allows you to capture with an sd card would be so nice. Going to a LAN party or event or something like that and being able to capture both gameplay and a camera would be really nice for content creators. Something else that would be awesome, but I don’t know if it’s even possible, would be to be able to capture a microphone input. Then content creator could go to events and make full videos out of it
Are there any external dual input capture cards? should i just get two single ones?
Hey what should I set my twitch stream resolution if I game on a 3840x2160 144hz monitor? I also have a capture card.
would it be possible to hook up a console and a pc and record at the same time on this or switch simultaneous between the 2 ?
i know this vid is a little older, and you may have said this before, but what are those rgb lights on your wall?
Is there anything stopping you from using this for two cameras to save on PCIE or USB bandwidth?
Hey i love your videos its helped me start streaming and ive now got all the basics, only issue is i have a very small bedroom with blank walls, is there a website i can just design a background to look like it was my room ? im not trying to give a false image just simply dont want a bland as hell background on my face cam, hope you see this :)
Don’t know if someone already asked but Do you have to use the second HDMI slot for a camera or could you use it for a second console.
Asking because i already own a Cam Link and would love to have one capture card to hood both of my console up without using a HDMI splitter.
Still using the 4k passthrough one of Avermedia, I don't play any more consoles so I dont think a lot of people would buy it unless for future proof purposes. (ofc depending on its price)
Dude the size of that thing is insane. Frankly the 4k60 being so small has spoiled me. Also man, I just find Elgato's software to work just fine so... yeah not for me.
If anyone can answer my question here, just curious what the pc versions like this and the elgato pro plug into on your computer. Is it the slot for a graphics card? Or is there somewhere else.
No 4k60 capture for RUclips content is a bust for me. We're going to have the PS5 and Xbox Series X hindered by this.
Now instead of using the second HDMI for a camera, if I were inclined to use it for a console instead, would that be plausible?
Yes, you just won't get any passthrough and will need to look at the (crappy) preview in OBS or whatever capture program to actually see the game.
Outstanding!! Be looking for this card.
Where do you get those light bars in the background? Link pls
Would you be able to give us a list of what cameras rank above and below the BRIO, that’s the cam I’m planning on getting but need more advice 🙏🏼
I would love this. Cant understand why Elgato didnt make their cards two-way, so one could use both screen capture/from a console, and a camera input. To play on your computer screen.
This AverMedia-card would be possible to hook up two cameras too.
What device has a two way HDMI port? sounds expensive
@@MrML4L two way as in you could choose either 1in/1out or 2in
hey where did you get that shirt at 6:11 at? thank you !
So, when will this be available? I checked 2 links from their website, amazon and mindfactory and none of those mentioned the Duo.
It's possible that the capture card was cutting out due to a surplus of FPS in game. Other streamers have had this issue and it can usually be solved by capping your game at something like 300fps or so.
And again I end up with watching the unboxing of things that I will never could be able to afford. Congrats, P3rs0n4l1ty, you nailed it
I think it's important for everyone who is interested in buying this to know that the card only supports HDMI 2.0. So while it will work with your next gen consoles it will not be able to pass through it's full throughput of HDMI 2.1 standard
Question that wasn’t addressed about the card: Did it have any cooling issues. I love the functionality of elgato’s products. But they are notorious for overheating issues and I have fought with this now on multiple occasions. I saw this card had a pretty beefy heat sink on it below the shroud. For a device traditionally that close to your gpu (the hottest part of a computer), I hope active cooling or at least a real heat sink becomes the norm.
Isn't the atem mini a 4 input capturecard with a 0 latency game troughput port?
that bottom slot you were trying looks like a x1 slot and the card looks like an x4. Maybe its just the video angle but it looks like the wrong slot.
wait... when did you start doing 2:1 Aspect Ratio?
So what's the benefit of having a 4k capture card? Is it exclusively to be able to post 4K content on YT?
New design categorization. Industrial elegance.
Blackmagic makes a few duo and quad hdmi input cards. no pass through, but really good quality.
Weird question: Does it ever make sense to use this in a single PC streaming setup? Basically, plug your graphics card output directly into this with a short HDMI cable?
No, it still uses your CPU or GPU to encode.
I'm streaming ETS2 in 3 monitors (Full Screen), and it works. but with black bars, is there a way I can add camera and other stuff beneath it?
I really wanted to love this card but the card went tits up in 6 months.
Such a great card to, literally filled every single need. But this is the second Avermedia CArd I have had to deal with that went bad, and I can't have a piece of hardware I have to worry about all the time.
blackmagic has made these for a long time now, right? i've had a quad decklink in my rig for awhile now ....
Worth the wait. All they have to do now is make it an external unit.
This would be an absolute dream... I have the budget camlink, but I also have to get an Elgato 4k60 for gameplay if I wanna use my DSLR.
Are you still using this Duo? I'm reading a lot of bad reviews on it, so I'm thinking if it's still working strong for you, then it's those who 1 starred it that's maybe doing something wrong. With the exception of the ones who claim supprt told them it doesn't work with x99.
Canon is focusing great but on your hands. How can your camera knows to actually focus on your product if your hand is on the way. Your lens must have too low of an aperture for a top down shot like that.
I just need this, with 4k 30 fps for the camera
Heads up there is a way to flashback record in OBS so if you want that feature you can still make this card work.
What's the out port for ? I know the in ones are for like cameras but what's the out ones for
Creo que esta hecha pensando en el futuro 👌me agrada la propuesta, habrá que ver las calidades de imagen
ive asked for this for soooo long !! im so happy. so many emails!
And when is the release of this card?
Can't buy it at the linked sellers on their website.
