Thanks for sharing Just had this problem with brother’s 03 Altima 2.5 l. He told me this happened with the car seven years/ two months ago, and no one was able to figure out (no trouble codes), what was wrong with it, only 98,000 original miles and still in good shape otherwise. When it isn’t 100 plus degrees outside, I’ll look into it, put the code reader on it, and let y’all know what if any trouble codes stored.
I had this problem with my sentra until I installed a high flow catback exhaust, walker/api, and k&n air filter. Perhaps the more freely flowing exhaust took some of the pressure of the transmission. I'm sure the transmission fluid and filter change also helped do the trick.
My Sentras done this about 3 times now. First time I replaced to MAF sensor and it worked. Second time it was the plug for the alternator deteriorated, replaced it and she was good. Now I have no idea what's causing it. She'll start right up then heavily bog down then stall
@@claytonpegram6035 sadly I haven't the slightest idea yet. cars been sitting for the summer so I haven't gotten to diagnose it yet, won't get to until I can get under it without dying of heat stroke
But I can tell you it wasn't the Crank sensor, cam sensor, alternator plug, MAF sensor, vaccum leak, spark plugs, or the Ecu. It may be my Transmission due to it leaking excessivly, which I definitely caused myself
@@joshualall5074 apparently it was a timing sensor, and a wrong fuel pump. The fuel pump caused the engine code while the timing sensor caused the funky idle. I don't know any more than that I've long since sold the Sentra sadly
thank you. My daughter was driving (Permit) and freaked out when this happened. We stopped, restarted car, and it worked fine but I would like to try and avoid this again so I shall try your method. :)
I'm having that right now, the mechanics can't find the problem, since the issue is intermittent. All the 3 times I brought it in, he said the car was fine. This time I filmed, but after reading all the comments, It could be a number of possible issues, I'm not sure if I feel like spending the money, might just junk the car. Here's the video for those who want to see the codes it has thrown. ruclips.net/user/shortsP6U9gxuF_XQ?si=DFGN-R0kVqi5pIq_
Nissan Sentra check engine light was on checked it said I needed speed sensor replaced it and car is wacky jerks won’t accelerate od off light stays on I’m stuck literally
I have a pretty comprehensive video on my channel going into detail about how you could have diagnosed this problem without replacing a bunch of parts.
That’s awesome man, it’s awesome to see a fellow RUclipsr helping others with his mechanic skills! We do have a difference though, I tend to avoid the comprehensive and simplify the projects. I try a bunch of parts so others don’t have to. Not everyone has the time or money to go into deep detail, they just need to get to work to put food on the table. Not a bad difference but just a different fit of audience. Keep it up though man!
@@enginebuzz5741 Learning to diagnose voltage returns for an ECU is one of the most difficult aspects of being a mechanic. If you can check voltage returns you can do anything.
@@johnprice3593 the problem with mine was transmission fluid was low. On this model it’s behind the wheel. Had to take it to a shop to have it topped off. Since that it’s ran fine
Pls help. I was using my dad's Nissan car. I have a permit. I was doing a u-turn and suddenly I notice a change of speed, and my dad's car won't go past speed 40. I wasn't sure if it went into limp mode or not. Idk how to fix it, I'm too scared to mention it to my dad.
Check oil first of all, and make sure the MAS air flow sensor is plugged all the way in, I’m sure it’ll be fine tho because Nissans are generally pretty tough cars. Besides that on a personal note, your Dad will probably more angry about you not telling him, parents desire respect and honesty, which will be better in the long run, we all do crazy stuff when we’re young, it’s how you react to them that will determine your character, you’ll both laugh about this someday. Best of luck and God bless! - Jonathan
I have a nissan sentra 2008 2.0 when i stop it feels like vibrate and also feels want to die but it doesn't the problem is the check engine doesn't turn on
I really don’t remember, as long as it’s the part it’ll last a decent amount of time. But quick tip is most places don’t let you return electronic parts so make sure the sell your the right one!
You can do that but it’s going to end up happening again a year or 2 later...: that’s what i did with mine and now i have the replace the throttle body. This video is a temporary fix
She lived on for quite awhile actually, I ended up bringing it out into a field and bashing till it quit. The only reason it stopped running is the timing belt blew off after 2 straight hours of redlining in second gear. I’ve never been so impressed with a vehicle in my life.

That might be my problem. I have maf sensor cleaner ( does not leave any film behind ) so I'll give it a go. Thx. 👍
did that fix it?
It might be something with the ABS is what my friend said. It happened after doing the tire rotation on hers.
