I think white scores so well in general because the attacking ideas are great but tricky to capitalize on if you're not great. I've played this line a handful of times around 1700 and sometimes feel I run out of ideas before I get compensation for the piece
@@michaelpark672 You underestimate the will of a 1650 who has been beaten by the same gambit too many times, and who only finds joy in learning opening theory (it's me, I'm the 1650)
If I ever get paired with you in some open lichess tournament, and you offer me any sort of material in the opening, I am going to decline the gambit every single time ahah
