this will extend my my repertoire for sure. i have heard about this gambit before but i didn't had a good source that covered the main things you need to know about it. thanks for this, i am sure it will bring me many victories
Thanks!! Looking fwd to seeing your games :) And yes you’re totally right - von hennig shara is actually a different Schrantz video which contributed to my momentary mix-up there hahaha.
I really enjoy your videos. You obviously have a passion for aggressive gambits. The thing I like best about the ones you seem to like is that they are not crazy gambits. They are very playable. Keep up the good work. I like the energy you have for analyzing these gambits.
Thanks so much!! :) yes, I do a lot of research with Stockfish and Lc0 both, as well as of course the lichess and chessbase databases, in order to make my recommendations in my videos. I also scour the internet to make sure nobody else has done a similar video before (and if they have, like here, then I link it and explain why my video is in fact innovative). I am really passionate about making genuine contributions to the body of chess theory, and of course about having fun in every game played and surprising opponents. I think there is huge value in that in terms of delivering results, and I love sharing this research with everyone :) it helped make me FM to begin with. Really appreciate the support!
I remember I mentioned Von Henning to you a while back in the comments. I knew you would love it! I have gotten a bunch of queen sacrifice checkmates from this. Thanks again for your amazing videos!
Caro Kann is one of the most solid openings for Blk for sure. Blk strategy is to sloooow the game down, trade off bunch of pieces and get into a long end game with a slightly better pawn structure. I've looked at ways to disrupt this plan with Wht such as the Tal variation (h4), The Shirov attack (g4), and the 2 knights which is very solid and has some good traps. BUT this Von Hennig is so aggressive in like a Morphy style, it will certainly take Blk out of their Caro game plan. Love this opening!
Hi Will! Just wondering about some stuff about the position after 6. ... Bg4 7.Ne5 (at 10:44). You make it sound like it's either checkmate or the bishop is lost but Be6 or even Qc8 guards against both threats. Yes black's position is really ugly and stockfish says white is winning but there doesn't seem to be an immediate knock-out blow. The stockfish top lines feature some really weird moves that I would never think to play in a real game. Any thoughts on how to play for example after 7. ...Be6 to take advantage of black's lack of activity?
This is really nice, thanks Will :D I was wondering if you could go over the Exchange Variation, Monte Carlo Variation when did respond with the french defence against our d4, e4 setup? :D I think that variation got some juicy saccs you should check out!
I love these BDG variants in your channel! I've played around with the von Hennig a little bit, and it seems to me that an improvement for black is 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Bc4 Nf6 5. f3 exf3 6. Nxf3 Bf5 7. O-O Bg6. You only faced it once on lichess according to openingtree and tried 8.Ne5 unsuccessfully, but I don't really see an alternative. Do you have any improvements for white?
Isn't the Schara-Hennig gambit in the queens gambit declined? My notes say it's as black after the Tarrasch defense, cxd5 then cxd4. In fact, my big book of chess openings doesn't even have Bc4 in it at all, from the Caro Kann. Well, I've been looking for something against the Caro Kann, so I'll try it, whatever it is.
I think some books on the Caro-Kann may mention it but more likely it will appear in books on Blackmar-Diemer Gambit (under "Ziegler defence"). Some of the older books will contain faulty analysis though! 😸
Yes, so my understanding is that the "Von Hennig Gambit" refers to the gambit in the Caro Kann / in this video. "Von Hennig-Schara Gambit", on the other hand, is what you mentioned: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 c5 4. cxd5 cxd4 5. Qxd4 Nc6 etc :)
I actually already have something pretty close to that! versus 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 ruclips.net/p/PLOm4tWEsA0wamBbowTHBRviFLJNQ5NRRQ (Budapest-graif gambit) versus the London: ruclips.net/video/b1CwnMrbCls/видео.html (london crusher 9000) ruclips.net/video/baHrfLjIK1o/видео.html (envy gambit) versus 1. e4 (Busch-gass gambit): ruclips.net/p/PLOm4tWEsA0wamfHg77Mrm8qiFBiIr3z_d as white (von popiel gambit): ruclips.net/p/PLOm4tWEsA0wYgoQHEzZIzRUPQUheQoC1z Enjoy :))

Yesss thanks so much for your comment and support, and for putting me onto this line! :)
You should do reach out to Marc Esserman and do a video. I love his channel too. He brings the Mayhem in the Morra!
also this isn't the von Henning shara gambit lmao this is just the von Henning. the Shara gambit is a completely different black opening
A pox on you and Schrantz both. Always coming up with good stuff against my entire repertoire 😂
Hahaha well now u know that h6 move after Bxe6! :)
Stockfish: I know all of chess!
Also Stockfish: what is... a gambit?
ThIS LosEs a PaWN, ClEaRly a mIstake 🤓
Happy B-Day! Good luck & good games! Thx for video.
Of course this is actually a transpo to the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit!
What isn’t? :) against e4 e6 d4 d5 I’ve started playing be3!? so that after dxe4 I can play f3 haha

Also, when you get the french defense of the board take a look at Orthoschnapp Gambit. You would crush people with that!
Haha ya I love schrantz’s vids in those lines!
Interesting line, thanks!
Thank you so much for amazing line

new chess piece sacrifice dropped 🗣🔥

Can we expect a Von Hennig vs Caro Kann chessable course in the future?
after Ng5, black plays Bxc2, if white takes Qxc2, black plays Qxd4 and wins Bc4. so what should white play after black's Lxc2?

Buena tactica.Saludos.
So, what if they don’t take again on f3 and just defend e4 with Bf5 and Nf6?
Very sad the we can't go the superior Qxf3 rather than Nxf3
Everything is a von popiel!
😊pls.make a opening repertoire in white and blck
