  • Take care of your Porsche cayenne. Find a good independent Porsche shop you can trust and have them do all the work. Change fluids before they are due and your Porsche will last for a very long time.

I'm the 2nd owner 2004 S bought Porsche Certified 65k miles; scored piston at 110k miles. Dealer would not warranty. Currently has 205k miles, engine is ready to let go. Like you mentioned find a good independent shop. Could not trust local oil change place; when you bring the filter and 10 qt Mobil one, and check after oil cap with white sludge...had to DIY at 110k miles, ensure done correctly. 100% Mobil one fill does not produce white sludge.
I should of bought the G500 for $28K in 2010

    My late partner and I bought a 955 many years ago, it’s a 2004/5 model yeas S V8.
This has been extremely reliable compared to the Jeeps, Peugeot, Nissan and Mercedes we had in years gone by.
We are the 5th owners and change the oil every 8-10k and spare no
Expense on what keeps her looking like she is 3 years old. It’s been extremely reliable and his driven as a daily driver.

For me the standard naturally aspirated V8 was the right choice due to reliability. Specifically went for the 4.5 and not the 4.8 direct injection as they’re riddled with fowling due to carbon build up.

It started life as a lease car so I hope that is a good thing. So far we've put over 2k miles on and off road and it has been incredible. I love the diesel and fuel economy it provides. With the greatest respect, you're just giving excuses for what are poorly engineered cars. Seeing my brother go through a blown engine at 60k, Porsche UK not giving a cr@p, and continuous, and I mean, continuos £2,000+ bills, to keep the car roadworthy, Porsche is an absolute disgrace! I don't see on mass, 2JZ or Nissan DETT engines needing $20,000 - $30,000 engine rebuilds, as with the Boxer, Caymen and especially 911's.
As for guessing why someone isn't prepared to spend $x,xxx - xx,xxx to repair their Porsche, is because they're the smart people, and because it's probably not their first overpriced bill, and they know if they stick with Porsche, another huge bill, will be on it's way in the very near future.
My brother and my cousin both bought their Porsche at the same time, but my cousin was smart, and he ditched it soon as .... but my brother kept on going, hoping the last £2,000 - 3,000 bills would be the last, for a bit, that the car would stay reasonably trouble free for a while. Not a bit of it!.
My cousin sold _part_ of his healthcare business in Phoenix for $8 million .... so it's not as though he doesn't have the money, he's just smarter with it, than my brother!
My Toyota powered car has literally seen less than 1/10 of the bills my brother's Porsche did, but it had 3 times the mileage that my brother's Porsche ... and my engine is still mint!
Yes a Porsche can make it to 100,000 - 200,000 miles, it's just gonna take 10 more money than my fast, reliable, Toyota powered car!
