- Although we didn't know it at the time this was the last appearance Billy would ever make....filmed on 26th January 83 ....he died 48 hours later on 28th....the programme went out on Channel 4 on 3rd of February getting to No.1 on their viewing charts.
So heartbreaking, and poignant. He looked so frail but singing beautifully, as ever. What a legend, taken far too early, but never forgotten by his many fans, past, present and future.
i watch often, he was a superstar

Recorded on Monday and on Friday he passed away. Ever so ill but what a performer and what a voice. Absolute legend.

There's Cliff & Marty but theTrue UK Rock & Roll Star was Billy Fury, he made some fantastic recordings and his Live Performances were amazing. Sadly Missed

That is one really sickly-looking 42-year-old. I had to Google him since he isn't well known here in the U.S. There had to have been other underlying medical conditions. Whatever he was suffering from at the time must have triggered a heart attack. His voice was in fine condition, definitely.
He had rheumatic fever as a child which weakened his heart and caused him to require open heart surgery twice. He was also told he required a third operation.
He looks unhealthy
This was recorded in very late 82 and he died in Jan 83!!
