Ms Wycherley was a remarkable and strong woman. No parent should have to bury a child let alone two. Billy Fury was the greatest of the rock 'n' roll singers to emerge from Britain in the late 50s. Unlike the other British Elvis wannabes Billy could write his own material, and could handle rock'n'roll and ballads with equal aplomb. But for his health issues I think he could have been a megastar. As it is he has left us with a magnificent catalogue of music to enjoy.
He was one of the best, the nearest to our own Elvis. Someone who loves animals like Billy did, just goes to show what a beautiful person he was. The love in his mothers eyes shows how much she misses her boy.
i know live in Canada B.C there have not seen Billy a lot so i now every weekend doing a show BILLY FURY THE ONE AND ONLY/ now it's filling 3 to 4 thousands a week, i spent 25 years learning to sing Billy, it's paying off all t-shirts cd's posters are all billy's not of me, and they sell out, liseran to WE WANT BILLY, that's what it is like every week end, all moneys go to BILLY'A fan club,

I have a Granada reports recording of a Billy Fury tribute from January 1998 but it's not the same as this one. it only last a few minutes. Will upload hopefully soon.
The one and only time I was due to see Billy live was at the Liverpool Empire in 1963. Sadly he was too ill to appear so I never got to see him on stage. He should not have come back in the 1980's he wasn't well enough and it showed. I was aghast at how much weight he had lost when I saw a recording of his last performance in 1983 just before he died. I'm just one of his legion of fans now in my late 70's.
i told him that but he said TAX MAN, i said Billy let it be known your fans will pay that off for you, we would be happy to do it, in the late 70's an 80's when he was up north Lancashire way we would open for him/ my mum told every one, BILLY FURY is sleeping in my back bedroom, LOL.
Great documentary. About half a dozen Billy Fury music videos, that have been meticulously restored and colorized, can be viewed on my RUclips channel!
He tried to look like him and also tried to be a pop star. But didn't have the voice. In the case of Tommy steele his brother looked like his twin and sounded the same, but didn't have much success except in Italy where he was pretty big for a while

Albert died 5 sept 2011. Jean died 17 may 2017
i was there to see them both off.
