David is probably the only man I'd ever describe as BEAUTIFUL, I could listen to that voice all day
No one had a better shag haircut than David Cassidy. He was probably one of the reasons that the shag was so popular in the 70's.
He WAS the reason for the shag haircut. To this day, my friends and I still say, " the David Cassidy haircut." I wish it would come back in style. He was so beautiful!! We all miss you, David, and I'll never forget the day you held my face with your hands as you sweetly kissed me and told me I was beautiful. It was the most romantic kiss I've ever had.❤ ❤

makes me sad to watch this now. I was a screaming teenage DC fan and still am (though not screaming!). This reveals a lot of his vulnerability which we didnt see back in the day. He was misrepresented and mismanaged. He never got over the loss of his Dad. I think he got lost somewhere along the way and that is really sad. Great talent, gorgeous man but, moreover, lovely lovely human being. God Bless you Mr David Cassidy and thanks for all the joy youve brought into my life.... and now (sadly) the memories you left. I Cherish them. xx
The British loved David Cassidy like he was their own son. He knew it too; notice how he sometimes uses their accent. But who didn't love him. Full of charisma, charm, talent and intelligence.
He seemed light years ahead of the rest of us; acquiring so much so early in life. And although he was exploited like many artist; he managed to maintain a prosperous life throughout.
Although the end was rough for him; divorce and drinking. I just want to remember him like this; young and fabulously beautiful! RIP Sweet David. 💖🌹💖

My heart breaks when I see his final interviews and performances. So broken. He even had to perform once in a cast.🥺😥 This song personifies his life.

What a lovely song, there seems to be a lot of unreleased music of David Cassidy. Perhaps someone like his producer Craig could gather it together and make a tribute of unreleased material, think his fans who have followed him for 47 years and his recent fans would appreciative. RIP
Diane Cooper I so agree with you. There is a bunch of unreleased songs that are really really so great, and it would be such a shame if it never got out there. I think also the massive photo material that obviously exists could for example be perfect to use for a "coffee table book" (by the Henry Dilz photographer?) or such. I am sure there would be a huge interest, and then an idea would be (jumping way ahead, I know..) perhaps some percentage of the profit of it all could go to the Alzheimer fund that DC worked with, just a thought..
This was a very good interview,he was allowed to say what he wanted to say,he was very honest with his answers. It was lovely hearing his soft speaking voice,seeing his beautiful smile,and that laugh,he had a really infectious laugh that made you laugh with him! Rest peacefully gorgeous David.
PS I would like to say politely, he was absolute perfection and the balance between his male and female side was awe-inspiring. So gentle and soft yet what a determined and masculine intention. I adored him and still do, I have to moderate my intake because he has a profound affect no matter what state he’s in or his age. A truly complex being, a little bit of a lad and a lot of saint that I’ve rarely seen too!

Thank you for this video! I believe it is one of his best interviews to bring his case to light. Well done! I'm learning more poignant interesting facts about this brilliant musician now that he's passed on, which is so sad. I've been David's fan since the beginning and there a huge gaps in between the years since he bowed out for awhile. Such an interesting artist and very well grounded. Looking back, he maintained that same direction and philosophy throughout his life. He was true to his nature and his goals as an artist which says a lot about him--that he was genuine, not flighty at all. I believe it took great courage to remove himself and regain his true identity and passion as an artist. I guess that is why he remained successful, and he did that his own way. He said many times it was never about the money. In fact, He was very against exploitation from early on in his career and showed as a good role model for upcoming artists. A true fan would appreciate that and allow David to grow and to reveal his true persona--and my goodness, wasn't it worth it? To me it sure was. Such a beautiful human being that I'm missing the loss of, passing at such an early age. His legacy lives on in his fans. I hope he'll be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I really do believe he's earned it. Such a brilliant musician. Rest in peace sweet David. 💙❤🎶

David Cassidy had so much "natural" charm and easiness about himself...even though he obviously got extremely burnt-out during that 4-year craziness and it a real number on him. That smile of his just makes me smile.

As a pre teen who got to see David in concert I was over the moon. Of course not knowing then that while he was bringing me happiness he was himself very unhappy. Hi Fleta I feel like you didnt really follow or know much of David,s career as didnt live in States n never heard much after TPF..he was so talented n articulate in most of his interviews,I'm like you have to find out more n more about him. I just wish he found love n peace in his life ,rather than turn to alcohol for his loneliness. As he stated he wanted to show who David Cassidy the person was ,not the image ppl had of him. Such a great interview, one of the best I've seen with DC, honest and sincere. The interviewer is great and a real pro, trying to dig a bit deeper than most and he sets the tone with both depth and humour. I am also impressed by the maturity DC shows, he's only 26 here, but yet he seems to answer in a thoughful way and is very well articulated. Its such a loss he's now gone.
I'm quite sure Russell harty fancied the pants off of him, lol.I remember this interview all those years ago. I live in the UK and got sat down with a cup of tea and watched it, and it was incredible!

Thank you for posting this video - I had never seen the performance of this song before, which is really beautiful. I think David Cassidy was so underappreciated as a musician. It was as if his physical beauty and charisma eclipsed that talent and there was no way to escape it.

He was an incredible person. I first met David in Las Vegas. We had mutual friends. It was 23 years ago at the MGM. So talented. So versatile. A true tragedy. We both talked about not worrying our life away. Great human. 👍

I know this is a long time ago and David Cassidy has passed away but what is it about British media, where they don't seem to be satisfied with the subject's answer. I don't know how many times Harty went over the same question, after it was answered more than satisfactorily the first time. He got his answer! What was it about the answer didn't he understand. They do the same to other celebs still today. As a journalist, you ask the question in the way that the person is more likely to answer it, instead of asking the same question over and over again to badger them. David Cassidy was my teenage crush too. As others have mentioned here. He was a phenomenon that has never been seen since and I doubt will ever be seen again. A sad end for a great, talented man. RIP David.

He did. I heard that when David was in the hospital, his loved ones were there with him, including his nephew, Jack, who is Patrick Cassidy's son. Jack is a devout Christian, and a Contemporary Christian music artist. You may have seen him as a contestant on "The Voice." Before David passed away, Jack led him to Christ. David repented of his sins and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Being a Christian myself, I'm comforted knowing that David is in Heaven. I miss him like crazy, but at the same time, I'm glad he's at peace.

Loved David and still do forever! The most handsome, generous and loving man! I am so thankful that I got to meet David back in 2000 and got his autograph! The sweetest man ever! I could only say thank you to him for I was so in shock and he said you are welcome in his soft voice! I watched him walk away with his wife Sue afterwards with his hand on her back at Saratoga Racetrack.
