it was tragic that this man music was not played enough on the Radio, I am sure the next generation would know of him and his wonderful music. God Bless You Billy and thank-you for giving us so much pleasure . never be another one like you again.
Billy Fury The Best No question as John Lennon said The Best Rock And Roll Singer Came From Liverpool more than a match for Elvis and all the rest The Late Great Billy Fury RIP
Hello, born and bred in the same area as Billy Fury real name Ronald Whycherly, came from a proper Liverpool family in the DINGLE area South Liverpool, no-one had a bad word to say about Bill/ Ronnie, loved wild life, birds, animals from way back, just Good people, regards.
So good to see Billy looking and sounding so fantastic. My idol back then and I still keep coming back for the wonderful memories. Still love you Billy 💔
He was once walking along the promenade in Cleethorpes and I was with my sister. She asked him for an autograph and he duly obliged and he bought me what I believe was my very first Coca Cola......My sister went to see him at The Ritz in Cleethorpes that night and he dedicated a song to her
A lovely memory to cherish ! I never had the chance to meet him or even see him perform , but know he was liked and loved by many for his personality as well as his songs ! Good wishes !
The wonderful Billy Fury. Passed away too soon. Beautiful voice and a lovely gentle guy. Singing with the angels now. God only takes the very best. ❤❤❤
Oh my I had such a huge crush on Billy, what a smashing gent he was and Halfway To Paradise is my all time favourite Billy Fury song. Thank you for this footage. Love you always Billy xx
Such unmatched talent. He embodies what it means to cross all musical barriers. His voice echoes through the halls and walls of all the shows he performed His sickness did not deter his ability to woo us with such soothing and delectable charm. A gem that is priceless. Rest in peace Mr. Fury!
A. TRULY A AMAZING. SINGER. AND SO VERY MUCH MISSED. THERE. WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER. BILLY. FURY. FANTASTIC. GENTLEMAN. WITH. A FABULOUS. VOICE. LOVE YOU. BILLY. NOW. AND. ALWAYS. R.I.P. XX
He was only a few years older than me,and I adored him as a teenager. This was my favourite song,so good to see what a lovely person he was. Miss you still,Billy.
He was only 36 yrs old in this video and looks comparatively healthy but his health quickly declined. Back in the late 50's early 60's as a teenager I lived in Blackpool and in 1962 with our local youth club I had the opportunity to travel to the Liverpool Empire to see him perform in those famous one night stands. Sadly his health wasn't up to allowing him to perform so I never did see him live. Up until the likes of Billy the Americans dominated out pop charts and he was one of the pre Beatle acts that pushed British performers to the front. He will always be remembered by his legions of fans and may he rest in peace.
What a legend. This has more of a late 60s early 70s feel. I personally like the rockabilly era of him. But he is indeed an underrated legend. RIP Billy.
Way more than a couple, more like a couple dozen!!! Fantastic singer & songwriter & by all accounts a genuinely nice guy!👍☺️ RIP Ronnie Whicherly AKA Billy Fury!!!
My dad bought Billy Furys "halfway to paradise".😎 for my mum.😘 It worked its magic.❤ I am but one, of 6 siblings. 😮😜 Billy was a big influence on the late 50s early 60s Brit-Pop scene. Rip Billy Fury. 👏 🙏🤲 ( this one is from mum 👄) 😉
The voice that exceded and surpassed the norm of music excellence! A heavenly gift, gone to soon. Imagine what musicsl barriers he could have broken if given more time here on earth..
What a great man his voice is amazing 👍 Billy fury is legend love him ♥️ gorgeous looks fantastic vioce godbless u Billy gone to soon rip Billy still love u and miss you ❤️💐🌹🌹🌹🎶🎶🎶💋
This song is from the 70s I was born in the 90s and I still listen to this song like it’s only just came out I love this song I love the singer thankyou lord for making this amazing human xxx
Great stuff!!! We should have Billy Fury revival. All his recordings need to be heard by the younger generation so they can enjoy what we enjoyed in the late 50s and 60s.
We here in the United States never got to see or hear Billy's true talents. Somehow in the British Invasion he flew under the radar. Never did hit it big here but was an Icon in England. Glad I have most of his releases.
Think he was at his most handsome here - 7 years of life remaining, shouldn't he have had so much more if the radical heart surgery was meant to repair the damage? Had he been well, he could have been like his music peers and enjoyed his career for decades more. So tragic and undeserved, he had much more potential. A truly gorgeous and talented man.
Billy went through so much pain, and it shows. What a singer he was. I have wondered since 1965 how Cliff, with no talent, made it, you even old woman book his concerts???
Ino this song was from 1976 I was born in 1996 and I really should be listening to music from now but all these songs from 1960s etc and this song is more beautiful then the songs now bring back all the old tunes get rid of the new shit xxxxx
What happened to Russell Harty was just as tragic. Healthwise and in his personal life. Such a nice person. Even michael parkinson had such nice things to say about him.
I'm gonna stick my neck out here & say that as a huge fan of Billy (& in no way whatsoever meant as derogatory) this shows the amazing individual voice I wish we'd heard more of at the time, rather than the semi-Elvis deep vibrato style, lip sneer & body gestures (always a bit unnatural) his promoters obviously encouraged of him in the late 50's early 60's & for the best & wisest of financial reasons I'm sure.. he was IMHO much more than just the 'British Elvis'. But I'm certain his fans already know this. I'm a big Elvis fan too.
Billy fury was a real superstar⭐🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐🌟⭐⭐⭐🌟⭐🌟 His music lives on in 2020 theres triiute acts of him touring for years why because BILLY FURY WAS SPECIAL ⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘ THE FIRST ARTIST IN UK TO RELEASE HIS OWN ALBUM THE SOUND OF FURY ALL SONGS WRITTEN BY BILLY THE ALBUM IS A CLASSIC NOW HE WAS A TRAILBLAZER FOR STARS TODAY AND TOMORROW 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟🌟🌟
In the States, they don't seem to let foreign talent dominate or even have much chance most of the time. In Britain, we allowed ourselves to be so deluged with American talent that everyone still knows who Elvis is, but I'm not sure so many people know the sound of Fury.
Let's be Brutally honest here, he sounds frail and should have thrown in the towel and given up music, no point in bullcrapping saying how great he sounded, when he clearly didn't. This guy had his heyday from 1959-1962 and during that time he was damn good and on top form a constant hitmaker.
He was returning from serious heart surgery so had the right to sound frail as you so eloquently put it. Look at his performance of "It's Only Make Believe" from the 1982 Unforgettable programme. That was filmed 4 days before he died and he belted it out. His final recordings were also strong. Ill health ruined his career but didn't stop him having massive success due to being so good.
@@barbsmith235 he was a brilliant artist. Such a shame about his struggles with ill health as he would have been even bigger. Still missed today and never forgotten.

Why does GOD always take the best ones young, he loved animals. Preferred him to Elvis anyday.
Methinks beyond his best here, His best was just about as good as it got! As a Pop singer.
