i do use my ps5 as a streaming device cause when i can’t find nothing to watch, i just play games and then give myself a rest from gaming. but all in all the ps5 does fulfill all our entertainment needs
I like streaming with the PS5 because it is all in one place compared to having to go from one system to another. I mainly use the remote for the PS5 because it saves on my battery for the controllers, since they die pretty quickly. I agree the remote could use a little work, but it works to a small degree. Great video as always.
I was thinking of switching from my FireTV to the PS5, my thought was about how fast the PS5 UX is to navigate through media and apps, where FireTV, even newer ones, feels slow.
My $500 machine stays as a gaming and 4k movie machine. Streaming can be done through streaming devices. No need to put useless strain on the system just to use it as a streamer.
That’s interesting. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro carry Paramount Plus. I’ve never used any Xbox model to stream, but going in I would have a favor bias toward Xbox for streaming, because Microsoft is its backing company. When it comes to streaming, PlayStation has crashing app issues with HBO Max and Paramount Plus.
Yeah, in terms of steaming for consoles the Xbox Series X has more streaming apps. I have both consoles, but I love streaming on the Xbox Series X because it has the Spectrum TV cable app.
@@jujubs2618 You can’t cast. Delete/uninstall the Spectrum TV app and reinstall it again to see if it works. Make sure the app and console is up-to-date as well.
Does anyone know if the resolution is similar to that of streaming via TV (LG C1)? It's hard to tell but through the PS5 it seems a little more grainy but I wonder if there are any tests to back this up. Maybe it's due to the power consumption of console streaming? The resolution states 2160p HDR on both the TV and through PS5 (in RUclips for example as that's where I'm currently watching a movie). I do prefer the audio with PS5 as the volume is louder by plugging headphones into the remote compared to plugging into the TV and I think it sounds more 3D. Has anyone else experienced this?
Truth.... the remote is awful. I only have it to watch 4k UHD discs without using the controller. It's also a royal PITA to get open to put batteries in. Oh and it's RF only so I can't use my Harmony universal. So yeah... I don't stream anything on my PS5.
Nitpickers point of view. Let me spend $600 dollars plus tax on my ps5, then $50 dollars on a Roku device because I don’t like the ps5 remote 🙄

Isn’t there a way to control the ps5 with your app? So instead of the remote you could use your phone?

Can you install the app directly or cast it cus I've tried on my but it doesn't let me on my Xbox one

Question is though would you be able to adjust the data usage for a PS4/PS5?
I have PS5 for year its fast for streaming
“Your”, not “You’re”. 👍🏼
What about the ps5 getting hot if your streaming for a long time

So no side loading
It consumes more power. I can get away with a fire stick or something similar
PS5 streaming is way better than using the tv apps. You can really tell from using RUclips tv.
