    My cat is smart! She just turned 19, and meows the simple one syllable words like 'yeah''what''and 'no' plus a few others, and I know she's doing it out of intelligence because her meowed words actually match the situation or what I am saying and this is for real. I've had a few others tell me that their cats do the same thing, although they are also older cats.

      That's truly fascinating! Cats are incredibly perceptive and often pick up on our cues, routines, and even emotions. It sounds like your 19-year-old feline companion has developed a unique way to communicate with you. Age does bring a certain wisdom and, in the case of your cat, perhaps a heightened sense of understanding and communication. It's interesting to hear that other older cats exhibit similar behavior. I believe our bond with our pets often transcends what's considered 'normal' and ventures into the extraordinary. Your cat's ability to contextually "respond" is a testament to the deep connection and understanding you both share. 🐱❤️

    Personally, I feel cats 'know' when it's accidental, just like they sometimes hurt us (scratch or bite). When I do step on them (or even once or twice kicked them because they ran to me while I was walking and not expecting their approach) I cry out, then stop, bend, say I'm sorry and hold out my hand. They usually come right back and rub up against my fingers. Vice versa, when they bite too hard, and a realize they caused pain, they will most often lick (to me, that's a feline apology).

    Stepped on his tail, kicked him off bed when I didn't realize he was there, and once I threw my phone to the bed as he jumped, and he took it to the head. He run for a few seconds, and then immediately comes back meowing to go around for our "patrol". No grudges for more than a few seconds.
    But it takes at least 2 days to drop his grudge when I return from a long (week+) voyage. In that instant, he is aloof until 40-48 hours pass.

    Thanks for the video. I'm trying to learn absolutely everything about cat behavior, before I get a new one. I didn't really research when I got my old cat, as I was only supposed to cat sit him, but the little bugger demanded that I fell in love with him, and became his slave. 😻😀
    He was very loving and VERY cuddly and wanted to be on or next to me 24-7, but he definitely wasn't the consoling type of cat. When I was sad, mad, stressed or in pain, he actually got kinda aggresive, which was wierd because he wasn't aggressive otherwise. I saw it as his way of saying: "Get it together woman!", and it did work sometimes, so there is that. 😀

    On the topic Can Cats Apologize, I would have to say my experience. When my tuxedo cat adopted me we started to know each other and took us approximately 4 months to get to know each other. My cat was stray by the way and was visiting me only outside my yard. Once I brought him after a while home he started to play by scratching me. Blood was coming.. I was wondering how can I tell my cat that this is not good? The second time we where playing my cat scratched me in my face, i left the blood running and then my cat saw it, smell it and went to hide under the table. Since then he never done it again, 3 years has passed. Every animal has its own character of course and they need time even years to get use to the human behavior. After then they can communicate with you by movement and sound.

    A few years back, I was watching the seasons last Dallas Cowboy game. Dak was going back for the infamous 5 yard hail mary to Ezekiel Elliot. Before the pass, the cat jumped on my lap. I quickly pushed it off. After the anti climatic ending of the game, I went to pat the cat. The cat was on its back, and pulled my hand to its chest with both paws. I did not pull back, and it hugged my hand for over 5 seconds. Very interesting moment. Thanks Dak.

      I'm like your hubby. I attract animals, they just love being around me, always have. Cats are so independent (most cats) like they can do with you or without you, so to speak.
      My girl Reggi is 11 months and I have raised her since she was 2 days old. We don't have other cats and I really think that she thinks she's human, just one of us. She mimics things that I do and it just amazes me. She will run in the room jump up on me, stand in my lap and put her paws on my checks then give me a kitty kiss on the lips, jump down and run out of the room. How friggin sweet❤.

    Sometimes you didn't do anything to hurt your cat except that you're the one that gives the medicine yucky hurtful medicine when they got a Sting from a bug that or snake that hurts them or you know to make them feel better in general and medicine is yucky and the whole process is traumatizing and then what you have to work for a long time to get his trust to let him know you're not trying to hurt him Maybe you should cover that cause this s***'s important

    My cat had conjunctivitis. I had to pick her up to put in drops for a whole week. Twice a day. Now she runs from me except when she wants food or pets. Its not her fault she needs eye drops. Its not mine either.

      @Bon-sf5qz 4 месяца назад

      Same thing happened with my kitty. What I did was to give him his very favourite treat immediately after his drops (and only then!). Within a few days he would recognize the medicine bottle and come willingly to “put up with the drops” just so he could have his special treat. Try that trick next time for your little pal.👍

    I disagree with this 100%. I do understand that if your voice is heightened, that this might make them think that you're threatening them. But I have had many many cats. They may think that initially but once you grab them up and hug them, they instantly know you didn't mean it. This is why I don't agree with not picking them up and hugging them as well. Every single cat that I've accidentally hurt and I've chased after and grabbed and hugged instantly rubs all over my face and starts purring and all is instantly forgiven. And here's the catch. It's gotten so that when I accidentally hurt my cats and they instantly hear me yell out, they may have initially started to run just because I hurt them. But the moment they hear my voice yell out in apology, they turn right back around and run to my arms.
