  • mtbpt.blogspot.com/2012/10/how... Capt Matt Quickly ties a weighted #2 White Zonker in this short fly tying video. The White Zonker Streamer can be used to catch just about any species of fish in fresh or saltwater, including trout, largemouth bass, snook and tarpon to name a few. In Colorado, this streamer pattern is deadly for trout from the boat. White Zonkers can be used in lakes and rivers all year.
If you would like to pitch flies like this up to the bank and behind rocks for big trout, contact Capt Matt at www.riplips.com

I can't wait to get back into fly fishing and fly tying, started when i was 7 years old kept going till 17-18 then my rod and fly tying kit broke. Slayed a lot of salmon and trout back in the days. This video helped a lot for refreshing the memory of fly tying, thanks man

Just the way I like my fly tying...quick and to the point. No fussing or dilly dallying. Great fly. Thanks for making the video

Really like your quick tying videos. Maybe not great for the raw beginner, but for the more experienced it is great.

Great video! I like to tie mine in a different way that I learned a LONG time ago (I invert the mylar piping at the head end, then roll it to the back). More recently I began using gel superglue to secure the rabbit strip to the mylar. I also fish for some pretty toothy critters (walleye/pike), so I also use kevlar thread that I use for tying bucktail jigs:-)

Landed some lunker bass on a very similar fly to this but with a chartreuse bead and chartreuse fritz! Very satisfying! :-)

Great video! Does anybody do anything in particular to secure the zonker strip to the shank and/or the mylar?

I add a bead head instead of the lead wraps for the extra weight and it works great for walleye and bass
