www.bobmarriottsflyfishingstor... Alex Cady, professional guide, ties the Shad Fly - a very effective pattern for bass fishing particularly at Diamond Valley Lake.
Very nice. I was at the coast yesterday night and speckeled trout were feeding heavily on Shad I made a white shad pattern out of white craft fur and some flashbow and they were taking it left and right every cast almost instantly but was looking for the perfect form if fly this looks good
hi, thanks for sharing. I aways seem to have too much bulk at the nose of the fly. I will try your way and see what happens. I did like the shad imitation much better pre trimming but I think Pike and Bass would hit it as it was. I like to fish for all types of fish. Some I eat, some I put back. Thanks again. All the best, Sean
If anyone wants to make an epoxy head or effect but doesn't have money for it, you can use the uv glue to form the head shape or what ever have you, then get some clear nail hardened (doesn't matter if it's expensive or cheap) and just apply it. Works just as well and dries a lot faster
it's way too bulky and that fly could be tied using three times less materials. casting that mop would be a mess. i'd use bob popovic's technique to make it more sparse as in ruclips.net/video/d5z1JgyPBjc/видео.htmlsi=X9n4YcmdAgdAOftp&t=100
Very nice fly and good instruction while keeping it simple!
Thank you, I love they way you did the under body, I will be using this technique ever chance I get.

That is pretty much my pattern published about 20yrs ago, basically a sardine pattern called the Greenie.

great add. thanks for a simple fly
I have the top two fibers in stock. What can I use for white?
I would use lavender or a uv polar In place of the grey. I like this fly, easy to tie!
A it of lavender in any bait fish is good. They all seem to reflect it when in your hand.
What type of clamp are you using in the video?
how do you keep it riding hook point down? I always tie mine hook point up, and they swim much better.
could you please tell me what are the 3 colors of material are, and who makes it?...great vid bad Ass fly!
Hi, Please let me know what size is the eyes

What type of vise do you have and how much was it?
So the patterns is it possible to find them somewhere?
Why put the white material and then cut all it of? Very nice fly. Could put a little bit of red in the head .... I'll try it
Cool fly
are those menoras in ur title
Is it work for gt?
Cool A S. This would work on alot of fish. Those that like to eat a minnow. Stripers, ring perch etc.
Oh. I thought it was to catch shad. But it's to look like a tiny shad I see. Never mind.
nicely done!
Nice.....
Круто получилось супер.
Nice pattern, looks like a striper killer.

Fly fishing is all about the jock rock.

This is not a shad fly, it's a shad imitation.
