    I know it makes for a great video, but sheesh, sitting out on that rock must have been a bit of a challenge! I liked his practice a lot, different but similar to a practice i've used for years for settling & soothing my nervous system (and relaxing/opening the pelvis region - useful for when sitting on a rock). I had some slightly oddball primordial vibes/imagery arise during this practice. Thanks for taking us through this.

    I used this for 5-6 minutes in the middle of a table tennis training, before a couple more practice matches. (I have a tendency to "get in my head" while playing so hypothesized this could be a bit helpful) i went on to take a couple-three breaths like this inbetween points. And man. I beat a guy I never beated before 3-0 (i.e my consistency and focus went up drastically) and the other woman Ive had a 'close' loosing streak to 3-1 in the game after. I mean, I knew I had the skill to do it, my main issue was always getting worked up and loosing after getting some good starts. So just wanted to let everyone know this can be used for that as well if you have a tendency to get 'worked up' or 'emotional' during matches. Cant wait to try it in an actual match :D

    Thanks Damo ☺️ what a gorgeous location. I gave this “settling” practice a go, and found something interesting. While I was able to feel the sensation of the wave of Qi descending toward the perineum on the out breath pretty easily, I noticed then that there was this sense of lopsidedness, like there was more energy shifted over to the right side and not evenly perceptible throughout. Any advice here? Generally I would continue to practice until it feels better balanced from side to side but if you have any specific suggestions for this one in particular, that would be great. 🙂

    Greetings Damo, thanks for the difference you bring into my life. In this exercise, "Stilling the Jing" as soon as I hit the meeting point of yin, hui yin, a cascade or shall I say a torrent of coolness would start pouring down from head, very cool. Is it okay to follow the exercise with sinking the qi as outlined in one of your earlier videos? Thanks again for the beautiful work that you are!

    Thank you so much for this excersize! It skyrocketed the meditation I do afterwards.
    I found some things peculiar though.
    At first it felt like the breath was getting stuck in the lower abdomen all across the lower gut, got denser and denser and then strong flatulence appeared suddenly. After a while of this it calmed down and it felt like some of the breath was able to decend further into the perineum, after some more time there was a little pop and started sensations of consolidation.
    Is this normal? Is it maybe because I have ibd? Or is it the other way around?
    I have many other questions, is there somewhere I can ask them?

    Can You provide us with jing distilations instructions?

    • @LotusNeiGong
      @LotusNeiGong  2 года назад +3

      Actually, these can be a little risky for some if they haven’t done prior work and so, for that reason, I don’t tend to put those instructions on RUclips, I would want to hurt anybody. I generally only share the totally safe stuff publicly like this.

    I feel intensifying pressure in the front of the chest while trying to do this, what am I doing wrong?
    Also do I breathe out as long as possible or follow a natural breathing cycle? If I sigh after breathing in am I stretching the outbreath too long?

    • @LotusNeiGong
      @LotusNeiGong  2 года назад +1

      Intensifying pressure means that the mind needs to relax a great deal. Be chill my friend! :)
      Allow the breathing to naturally unfold and don’t force it at all. Let the exhalation be of a natural length.
      Sighing after the inhalation may be either constriction of the diaphragm (which needs to relax) or weakness of the acquired Qi which could probably be helped with a healthy and nourishing diet :)
      Good luck with it

    Hey Damo! Thank you for this video.
    Two things I noticed. With the downward breath I felt like a cold breeze at the perineum. And when holding the qi at the bottom and breathing normally, the dan tien point felt as a cold point.
    Do you recognize this?

    Hello, Sifu Damo, thank you for sharing this exercise publicly. During this exercise, the sensation at the base of the body was quite strong, and the day after my perineum was very sore. I think that perhaps this might mean I am making an error or have some kind of imbalance. Do you have any advice? Many thanks for all of your instruction.

Can these practices also be done by lying down? thks

    • @LotusNeiGong
      @LotusNeiGong  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for your kind words :) it is better to do these practises sat upright due to the way the Qi moves within the spine. The intention on this breathing method is a little different due to the direction of the breath rather than the observation of it :)
