Crazy how Mean Streets just turned 50 a few days ago and he’s still making movies
Martin’s favorite rock group, The Rolling Stone, have been performing for 60 +years and still performed last night!
It must be so awesome to have Martin freaking Scorcese say “That’s interesting. I never really thought of that” to you
Ikr
The end got me emotional. Martin is really a genius and one of the best storytellers film has ever had! Love this man! May he live another 20+years and make as many more masterpieces as he wants x
Me, too! I was thinking that if I were in Jake's position, saying the exact same words, I wouldn't be able to hide the tears. It's an incredible gift to us that not only is Scorsese still around but is still making truly vital cinema. It's kind of crazy, actually.
Jake is such a great interviewer, great questions and actually gives him time to answer
Why am I tearing up at the end? 😢 Good job Jake as always.
that must of felt pretty great to hear marty say "that's interesting" to your question. also, it looks like he is genuinely touched at the end. good job.
Yeah, asking that question about the concept of sin in Martin’s films was brilliant given Martin grew up in a Catholic Italian-American family where the teachings of Catholic faith was very prevalent and an influence on a lot of his films even though a lot aren’t religious in concept or subject matter.
I was baptised Catholic myself but no longer practice but I do find the themes of Catholic sin and redemption (or lack of) in Scorsese’s films fascinating.
Silence is an Underrated Masterpiece! One of Scorsese's Best, Please watch it if you haven't!
I thought Silence was good not great
Agreed. One of his best. Total joke that it wasn't nominated for Oscars.
@@Fosterdid Nominated for cinematography
This was one of my favorite recent Scorsese interviews and it's only 5 minutes long! Excellent questions that I think tie very directly into subjects Scorsese has been working with his entire career. The words of gratitude at the end got me emotional 🥺
God I wish you’d get him on the podcast I could listen to him talk for hours
Incredible interview ❤ That first answer blew my mind
What a cinema legend
He is a legend
Jake you are an absolute legend. To stump a Maestro like Scorsese proves you are a one of a kind.
Ageee....
Together with Spielberg the greatest Director ever ... no Doubt about it
Wow, all you needed was that one question + the follow up q and the answer was so insightful!!
Fantastic interview as usual Jake! Just wanted to ask you if you have ever read the Eragon books by Christopher Paolini? Its a book series that I definitely think you would enjoy, and were getting a Disney plus tv adaptation of it soon.
such a good interview if you want more of Jake he does a podcast with 2 other people called reel blend and it one of the best they get on a list directors
Rooting for you Jake! You always ask the best questions ❤
4:30 If I know body language well I can tell from the look on martyrs face you really made his day with those comments jake 😊
Dam This man Martin Scorsese gives life lessons with his answers to his questions it’s why he is so legendary
Well Done! What an honour!
Still so sharp at that age. Impressive
Silence is a forgotten masterpiece, so glad Marty keeps bringing it up whenever he gets a chance
Jake you really the best. Its so easy

Even yet while we were sinners, Christ died for us.

It’s alright, but it’s one of his weakest films in 15 yrs
Damn Marty is absolutely correct. I have learned more from the angry irritable people then the nicer people in my life.
Glad I figured it out at a young age.
