During 1986-7 the state of NSW in Australia asked for bids to build the first casino in Sydney. Four groups submitted bids for the lucrative project. But then suddenly, Kennedy was gone, Johnson was president, and those investigations were swept under the rug. Unlike Trump, Johnson was actually GOOD at that kind of thing.

If Trump is convicted, most courts would allow him to remain free pending appeals on the weighty constitutional and evidentiary issues raised by the Georgia case. That process could easily take a couple of years.

@@hb4196 Yes he was paid and still is. There is a Wikipedia article on this. Schwartz was hired to write the book for $250,000 upfront; Trump assigned him half of the royalties. Schwartz later admitted that his motivation was purely financial. He needed the money to support his new family.
