The comic book had the advantage of Jason Todd being dead for more than 10 years and not being in any comic (except as a memory). No reader knew it was Robin until it was revealed. The movie can't count on this advantage so it made the story easier.
Yeah. It would be much more difficult for the movie to set this one up properly. I do think they handled it well with the limitations they had though. All things considered its still a good watch, but I'd strongly recommend people read the comic book as well :)
That speech is honestly my favorite part of the movie. The voice acting there is incredible. The break in his voice when he gets to,”Because he took me away from you.” Gets me every time.
Another advantage of the comic was Jason being back from the dead had been done and revealed as fake in the comics less then a year before the comic did it for real. So no one though DC would do the same reveal twice in such a short time.
And don't forget the Batman reply: "It would be too damn easy" , implying that the hardest thing to do is to be coherent with oneself and that the Joker is, in fact, the hardest villain he ever face, not because of his madness, but because he challenges the very thing that makes a hero, a hero. To be honest, I forgot everything about this movie except that one line: "it would be too damn easy". It is a very concrete way to answer a really good emotional speech with a line that shows how hard is the inner fight in comparison to the exterior fight. I just find beautiful the fact that for Batman it is easy to kill someone than to be what he needs to be.

The reason that Jason never had any blood on his face or wasn't massively mutilated by the explosion is because of the movie's age rating, nothing to do with lack of thought.
For its rating, Jason's initial death got pretty dark. Even without seeing the impact, just the sound of each hit along with his feet twitching in the shot made it uncomfortable to watch,
If that's the case than don't show blood on the ground. Just let people imagine the internal bleeding.

to be fair, the comic book is much better, because it doesnt make it blatantly obvious who the red hood is right away (not to mention not long before Clayface was posing AS Jason to throw batman off).
For what its worth, this movie is still very entertaining and worth the watch. I personally would have knocked down a sin or two for Jason's brief talk about the Joker with batman. That was some powerful voice acting. And in the end, this is STILL a better movie than most "real action" DC movies of the past, dunno, ten years?

The comic book had the advantage of Jason Todd being dead for more than 10 years and not being in any comic (except as a memory). No reader knew it was Robin until it was revealed. The movie can't count on this advantage so it made the story easier.
Yeah. It would be much more difficult for the movie to set this one up properly. I do think they handled it well with the limitations they had though. All things considered its still a good watch, but I'd strongly recommend people read the comic book as well :)
That speech is honestly my favorite part of the movie. The voice acting there is incredible. The break in his voice when he gets to,”Because he took me away from you.” Gets me every time.
Another advantage of the comic was Jason being back from the dead had been done and revealed as fake in the comics less then a year before the comic did it for real.
So no one though DC would do the same reveal twice in such a short time.
And don't forget the Batman reply: "It would be too damn easy" , implying that the hardest thing to do is to be coherent with oneself and that the Joker is, in fact, the hardest villain he ever face, not because of his madness, but because he challenges the very thing that makes a hero, a hero.
To be honest, I forgot everything about this movie except that one line: "it would be too damn easy". It is a very concrete way to answer a really good emotional speech with a line that shows how hard is the inner fight in comparison to the exterior fight. I just find beautiful the fact that for Batman it is easy to kill someone than to be what he needs to be.

Jason's resurrection in the comic books was actually dumber, where apparently after Superboy prime literally punched a hole through reality it somehow cause Jason's to come back to life.
Almost as dumb as Darkseid shooting Batman with his Omega Beams, and instead of disintegrating him like it does with any other human it sends him back in time haha. Batman's plot armor is astounding.
