The reason why I really love Red Hood so much is because I love and agree with his ideology on way of thinking of how to handle criminals. He's not going to be like Injustice Superman and just going full on scorched Earth on every single criminal and punishing them severely for the littlest of crimes. But he's also not going to just simply put a monster back into prison because he knows that they will eventually break out and kill more people. He's the perfect balance. I genuinely fucking hate how Harley is given more spotlight than him.

I know I'll get put on blast for saying this, but I'll take it to the head like a crowbar (even though nobody asked me in the first place). Getting a DC writer who genuinely likes to write a specific character, let alone respectful enough to acknowledge that character's personal growth and history, is like getting an ice cream cone from McDonald's. What I'm saying is, it's *not* impossible, there *are* people who are *genuinely happy* to do so in the first place, and if you play your cards right you *just* might get it when you ask politely. But don't get used to it. Mostly because the *majority* of the time, people hate their jobs to a certain degree. So when they tell you they don't have what you're looking for, and none of their *other* options look that good by comparison, you just gotta keep it pushin'. Nothing more, nothing less.
Plus, it's Gotham city we're talking about. Do you have *any* idea how many supervillains are willing to try something old-school like sending actual letters just to send a message to somebody that they're just "politely threatening" even though some of the most broke and dumb Batman villains both have and can use a smartphone? Side note, Solomon Grundy doesn't count. He is *literally* a magic zombie with super strength. The fact that he can remember his own name is basically a miracle in and of itself
The real issue is they won't let Jason go his own route. He can't roll through his own city or chase his own opps. Everything he does is tied back to Batman, which means he'll forever be treated the same way he was when he first came back. Same for Dick, took all his development and experience dismissed just to joke about his ass.

Let it be known that when the Talons were running around Gotham. Jason was the only one to kill a Talon by himself. Not to mention his extra combat training by Talia Al’Ghul. He gave Batman a run for his money for an entire comic run.

The bat family adventures webcomic actually has Jason in a relationship with Artemis. Which makes sense considering their dynamic in the Outlaws and that Artemis shares many things in common with him.
What's actually funny is that Jason and Rose Wilson were a couple in DC's Zombie story, DCeased, and Deathstroke actually approved of it. It's probably the only good thing to come out of that godawful storyline.

For me the best version of Jason Todd was the outlaws one, where he found a family that understand and care for him, he feeling empathy for bizzarro and not seeing him just as a weapon or "a way to harness superman powers" is precious to me, he doesnt want anyone to be like him, bitter and to feel unloved, his relationship with artemis, his friendship with arsenal and his caring for bizzarro and everyone, thats my jason todd, hes not just a barbaric that kills criminals because he likes it, he is a man with anger issues and a lot of trauma(just like bruce) but he still is kind hearted as he allways was, he tried to save his mom even when she betrayed him, too bad all went downhill with that jason's dad thing
Spiderman gets more love and happiness in his comics than what Red Hood does in his, and the people who write the Spider-Man comics make him suffer more than any marvel character, it makes you think they hate Spiderman and that they hate making more comics about him

I agree with most of what you said, but I can't let this misinformation slide. Harley Quinn first appeared in 1992 in the DCAU, she entered the comics in 1999. Jason Todd wasn't confirmed alive until 2005. Red Hood came out 13 years after Harley's debut in the DCAU and 6 years after her debut in comics.

Red Hood is literally probably one of DC's best selling characters, and they treat him like shit and don't give him any progression and make him act like he and Batman are always on sum kind of beef, when in a comic, Bruce straight up states, "Jason does what I can't when the world needs it" shows that Bruce doesn't approve of Jason's methods but he understands them. And they need to give Red Hood a new solo run, key-word being Solo. No team. No Batman or Family Member looking over his shoulder, just Red Hood, doing what he does best, without any restrictions. And add him dating Rose Wilson then DC and I will be straight
2:40, Not only is Jason doomed to cycle between a villain (or anti-villain), anti-hero and redeemed hero, but his lethal methods aren’t given the chance to be explored in much nuance other than him killing just more to indulge his rage than to punish criminals. While characters like Batman constantly have their non-lethal methods analyzed and critiqued with the stories they’ve featured in, wether he does so out of compassion for others, arrogance in his capabilities, pride in not being a killer or fear of what executing others would do to his character (5:07, Titans does explore this idea somewhat with Bruce being driven suicidal by his shame over letting himself indulge in vengeance by executing Joker, which isn’t an inherently bad idea to explore, though yes, the writing doesn’t really address how Bruce allowed several deaths by not killing Joker sooner and only did so when he was personally affected by one of Joker’s murders), the opposite isn’t entirely true for a character like Jason, who is given disposable goons to slaughter and rarely is made to reflect on his own wether his methods are always justified, if his uncompromising lethality is not just an opposite extreme to Bruce’s uncompromising mercy. There’s rarely an instance where a character like Jason’s lethality is told to be wrong other than his rage making him inefficient and indisciplined (such as when he impulsively killed Clown Joker after being mocked by him), not that his bloodlust could potentially make him myopic and oblivious to other factors in a situation or that he may end up harming innocent or redeemable people without even realizing it. It would be an interesting situation to have Jason be faced by someone that was harmed by his actions, wether a grieving loved one of one of his victims or someone that “deserved” help, yet was harmed by Jason instead. On the other hand, while Jason is allowed to kill, he isn’t allowed to kill pivotal characters, supervillains, beings who would make Gotham City and the world objectively safer, all because none of these characters can every truly be allowed to die by the writers as they are recycled into new stories to keep the status quo of the world intact (though the justification is there that Bruce and the Bat-Family would attempt to stop him if he ever planned to assassinate supervillains). Arkham Knight even has Jason, with Batman not being there to stop him, freely operate as a lethal vigilant in Gotham and instead of targeting Harvey, Oswald, Nygma, Waylan or even Harley (the girlfriend of the man that tortured and nearly killed him), he goes after Sionis, a gangster that hasn’t been relevant in Gotham for decades. Jason has a lot of potential as a character, but many stories don’t seem interested in exploring it in much depth or putting Jason in new, interesting situations that push him further as a character beyond squabbles with the Bat-Family over his lethal methods or occasional adventures fighting less grounded threats (such as by putting him in a situation where his methods either have negative consequences that directly affect him or people he cares about or by having his methods proven necessary in at least some scenarios, like a supervillain on a rampage like that poses an immediate threat to the lives of others, showing his killings can be about more than just indulging himself by having him kill in defense of others).
Why can't they let my boi have his time in the spotlight? The fact they respect Harley f*ckin' Quinn more than the man they resurrected from the grave and made into a Punisher esque red bowled badass (whom they themselves voted to die!) is atrocious to say the least!
5:05 Honestly, I hate when Batman kills the Joker in this matter. If he does kill the Joker, it should be in the heat of the moment, not premeditated. Batman should have saw Joker admiring his handy work after freshly killing Jason. Seeing this would make Bruce go off in a way he never had before. Batman beats Joker’s skull and stupid grin in for a minute straight before finally regaining control only to see he stopped too late. The Joker is dead, but it doesn’t take away the pain of losing Jason. Now Batman has to deal with the loss of his son and the shame of forsaking everything he believed in. Yes, Joker deserves to die, but actively choosing to kill him instead of it being an action made in a moment of weakness goes against everything Batman stands for.
Just when a character that shows how batman could develop past batman killing the joker but nah! The editors are sharing notes with spiderman editors on how to make characters suffer and STILL stays stagnant in their development 😕 😞
Red Hood like it or not is the realistic approach to Batman. Putting the same crazy person that kills thousands of innocents in prison for the 5th time isn't a great idea. Red Hood's mentality is literally just to get rid of crime permanently... Batman is still my favorite, but his no kill code still makes no sense to this day and if anything just makes more innocents be put in danger.

I remember one comic where Red Hood and Supergirl teamed up and they were pretty good. Yeah Jason tricked her, but they still fought well together and Jason DEFINITELY showed off to impress her with his skills and strength (and she was impressed 😏) she was in a relationship with some guy, i honestly don't know who he is but yeah, and i think it was Jason who said that "There's a difference between what you love and what you're attracted to." He knew that Supergirl did find him interesting, but knew that she didn't love him. I feel like that could've have been the start of a very good story arc and character development for the two as they could be the next gen World's greatest, Like Batman and Superman. The two would kick so much ass together, not to mention it would be cool to see those two fight and go further than what others can go, like REALLY break some criminals or take down aliens that are planning to attack Earth. Hell, there was even a time Jason basically became a teacher for a group of Meta-Kids! Full on Professor X and the X-men up in this fool! And I think he did a good job with them, I'm not sure if they scrapped it or still kept going with it though. Jason has so much untapped potential but DC is too scared to try something new

We barely see Jason Todd as Red Hood in any media besides comic books, but you know what we see less of? His time as Robin. Just once, I wanna see Batman and Jason as his Robin and actually kick ass. In the modern day we seem to just glide by Jason's time as Batman's sidekick in order to get to the part where he's objectively cool asf. Red Hood is my 2nd favorite antihero in fiction (below the Punisher) & I'm just as stupefied that he's barely gotten in the spotlight. I'm glad he's getting some more traction in comics at least (appearing in The Boy Wonder, having his own webtoons comic, & a sorta solo comic Red Hood: The Hill).

Something like "Arkham runs red" or something where you play as red hood and can be the ruthless anti-hero and execute criminals or go non-lethal wihh added difficultly but a different ending. I don't care that Jason killed one of the three Jokers, the fact that one of the Jokers recreated the most traumatic moment in Jason's life by beating him again with the crowbar and not getting true closure from Batman's perspective at least. And definitely not from Barbra. Good Lord, when Jason wrote on that letter that he would permanently stop being Red Hood if she would at least give him a chance, that cut so deep. And the fact that she never read the letter because it slipped off and Jason will never bring it up is just so painful. Jason just goes through it.

GAD DAMN My dream red hood game is just the same gameplay from arkham knight, maybe with new gadgets like his rifle he used in his boss fight Story is amanda gets his help to take down the ss after they go rogue, shes paranoid about task force x being compromised and decommissioned and her job being lost since the government wont view her as capable to run it, maybe gizmo finds a way to turn off the bombs for the squad, and she also hires Deathstroke to help and he gets to be a playable character where they expand on his gameplay from Arkham Origins, maybe the same way they did catwoman and batman in City where you switch as them, but still have missions like Panessa studios in knight where you call on the other character for stealth takedowns and allat. Enemies would be goons the squad hired after splitting up, maybe some of harley's old crew as well. Deadshot also breaks out the militia from gotham and has them under his command too. Side missions could be some of batman's old roster we seen already too, but this time Jason wont let them get a second chance... Obviously
Imagine if Jason was the main character of Kill The Justice League. I’m just saying, if it was RED HOOD: KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, he wouldn’t have mocked Batman before putting a bullet in his head. He would lament that this is what had to happen and express how sorry he was. It would be ironic. All Jason wanted to do as The Arkham Knight was kill Batman, but once he would be forced to, he would wish to heaven that he didn’t have to. That would have been tragic but poetic at the same time.

What's actually funny is that Jason and Rose Wilson were a couple in DC's Zombie story, DCeased, and Deathstroke actually approved of it. It's probably the only good thing to come out of that godawful storyline.

For me the best version of Jason Todd was the outlaws one, where he found a family that understand and care for him, he feeling empathy for bizzarro and not seeing him just as a weapon or "a way to harness superman powers" is precious to me, he doesnt want anyone to be like him, bitter and to feel unloved, his relationship with artemis, his friendship with arsenal and his caring for bizzarro and everyone, thats my jason todd, hes not just a barbaric that kills criminals because he likes it, he is a man with anger issues and a lot of trauma(just like bruce) but he still is kind hearted as he allways was, he tried to save his mom even when she betrayed him, too bad all went downhill with that jason's dad thing

I agree with most of what you said, but I can't let this misinformation slide. Harley Quinn first appeared in 1992 in the DCAU, she entered the comics in 1999. Jason Todd wasn't confirmed alive until 2005. Red Hood came out 13 years after Harley's debut in the DCAU and 6 years after her debut in comics.

Red Hood is literally probably one of DC's best selling characters, and they treat him like shit and don't give him any progression and make him act like he and Batman are always on sum kind of beef, when in a comic, Bruce straight up states, "Jason does what I can't when the world needs it" shows that Bruce doesn't approve of Jason's methods but he understands them. And they need to give Red Hood a new solo run, key-word being Solo. No team. No Batman or Family Member looking over his shoulder, just Red Hood, doing what he does best, without any restrictions. 2:40, Not only is Jason doomed to cycle between a villain (or anti-villain), anti-hero and redeemed hero, but his lethal methods aren’t given the chance to be explored in much nuance other than him killing just more to indulge his rage than to punish criminals.
While characters like Batman constantly have their non-lethal methods analyzed and critiqued with the stories they’ve featured in, wether he does so out of compassion for others, arrogance in his capabilities, pride in not being a killer or fear of what executing others would do to his character (5:07, Titans does explore this idea somewhat with Bruce being driven suicidal by his shame over letting himself indulge in vengeance by executing Joker, which isn’t an inherently bad idea to explore, though yes, the writing doesn’t really address how Bruce allowed several deaths by not killing Joker sooner and only did so when he was personally affected by one of Joker’s murders), the opposite isn’t entirely true for a character like Jason, who is given disposable goons to slaughter and rarely is made to reflect on his own wether his methods are always justified, if his uncompromising lethality is not just an opposite extreme to Bruce’s uncompromising mercy.
There’s rarely an instance where a character like Jason’s lethality is told to be wrong other than his rage making him inefficient and indisciplined (such as when he impulsively killed Clown Joker after being mocked by him), not that his bloodlust could potentially make him myopic and oblivious to other factors in a situation or that he may end up harming innocent or redeemable people without even realizing it.
It would be an interesting situation to have Jason be faced by someone that was harmed by his actions, wether a grieving loved one of one of his victims or someone that “deserved” help, yet was harmed by Jason instead.
On the other hand, while Jason is allowed to kill, he isn’t allowed to kill pivotal characters, supervillains, beings who would make Gotham City and the world objectively safer, all because none of these characters can every truly be allowed to die by the writers as they are recycled into new stories to keep the status quo of the world intact (though the justification is there that Bruce and the Bat-Family would attempt to stop him if he ever planned to assassinate supervillains).
Arkham Knight even has Jason, with Batman not being there to stop him, freely operate as a lethal vigilant in Gotham and instead of targeting Harvey, Oswald, Nygma, Waylan or even Harley (the girlfriend of the man that tortured and nearly killed him), he goes after Sionis, a gangster that hasn’t been relevant in Gotham for decades.
Jason has a lot of potential as a character, but many stories don’t seem interested in exploring it in much depth or putting Jason in new, interesting situations that push him further as a character beyond squabbles with the Bat-Family over his lethal methods or occasional adventures fighting less grounded threats (such as by putting him in a situation where his methods either have negative consequences that directly affect him or people he cares about or by having his methods proven necessary in at least some scenarios, like a supervillain on a rampage like that poses an immediate threat to the lives of others, showing his killings can be about more than just indulging himself by having him kill in defense of others).

5:05 Honestly, I hate when Batman kills the Joker in this matter. If he does kill the Joker, it should be in the heat of the moment, not premeditated.
Batman should have saw Joker admiring his handy work after freshly killing Jason. Seeing this would make Bruce go off in a way he never had before. Batman beats Joker’s skull and stupid grin in for a minute straight before finally regaining control only to see he stopped too late. The Joker is dead, but it doesn’t take away the pain of losing Jason. Now Batman has to deal with the loss of his son and the shame of forsaking everything he believed in.
Yes, Joker deserves to die, but actively choosing to kill him instead of it being an action made in a moment of weakness goes against everything Batman stands for.

Red Hood like it or not is the realistic approach to Batman. Putting the same crazy person that kills thousands of innocents in prison for the 5th time isn't a great idea. I remember one comic where Red Hood and Supergirl teamed up and they were pretty good. Yeah Jason tricked her, but they still fought well together and Jason DEFINITELY showed off to impress her with his skills and strength (and she was impressed 😏) she was in a relationship with some guy, i honestly don't know who he is but yeah, and i think it was Jason who said that "There's a difference between what you love and what you're attracted to."
He knew that Supergirl did find him interesting, but knew that she didn't love him. I feel like that could've have been the start of a very good story arc and character development for the two as they could be the next gen World's greatest, Like Batman and Superman. The two would kick so much ass together, not to mention it would be cool to see those two fight and go further than what others can go, like REALLY break some criminals or take down aliens that are planning to attack Earth.

I remember reading Batman Three Jokers when it came out and damn, Geoff Johns did Jason *so* dirty in that comic. I don't care that Jason killed one of the three Jokers, the fact that one of the Jokers recreated the most traumatic moment in Jason's life by beating him again with the crowbar and not getting true closure from Batman's perspective at least. And definitely not from Barbra. Good Lord, when Jason wrote on that letter that he would permanently stop being Red Hood if she would at least give him a chance, that cut so deep. And the fact that she never read the letter because it slipped off and Jason will never bring it up is just so painful. Jason just goes through it.

Story is amanda gets his help to take down the ss after they go rogue, shes paranoid about task force x being compromised and decommissioned and her job being lost since the government wont view her as capable to run it, maybe gizmo finds a way to turn off the bombs for the squad, and she also hires Deathstroke to help and he gets to be a playable character where they expand on his gameplay from Arkham Origins, maybe the same way they did catwoman and batman in City where you switch as them, but still have missions like Panessa studios in knight where you call on the other character for stealth takedowns and allat. Enemies would be goons the squad hired after splitting up, maybe some of harley's old crew as well. Deadshot also breaks out the militia from gotham and has them under his command too. Side missions could be some of batman's old roster we seen already too, but this time Jason wont let them get a second chance... Obviously
