Fun fact, although the song is listed as "Anna (El Negro Zumbon)", as in the song El Negro Zumbon from the 1955 film Anna, it's actually a mashup of El Negro Zumbon and Mambo No. 5 by Perez Prado! 0:30-0:48 is a variant on the chorus from Mambo No. 5 0:48-1:53 is El Negro Zumbon 1:53-the end is Mambo No. 5
That is also a perfect DWTS song for Lindsay Hollister dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy. Lindsay Hollister takes First Place next DWTS season. She is as good as gold even if she dominates the dance floor.
There are still some fat jokes, which isn't surprising since this is from 2008, but as an "empowering" scene they're much gentler than they could've been, and as a result this scene remains infinitely more watchable and pleasurable than a lot of scenes involving fat characters from the 2000s. I do love how the woman shows up those bitchy women.
very true, plus I think that something that makes this a more ernest empowering moment to me at least is that Steve carell actually did about 80% of those moves with her, he actually was quite ripped at this time they filmed this but it's hard to see it on him.
The music is edited with a bad jump at 0:56, a phrase is left out and joined to the following. I wonder what was in fact edited out (some visual probably).
@@yclept9 Barely noticeable, but let me know if you find the music played. Searching the title gives many variants, just hard to find this particular one.
Because this was played by a live band for the film, this interpretation/mashup of mambo no 5 isn’t available on Spotify or anywhere else unfortunately. However, the closest one available is: Mambo #5 by Les Brown.
God what a great scene and great piece of music
The best part of the movie!
The music, the actors, everything is just perfect 🤌🏾
What a genius comedy! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Best scene ever ❤

For those wondering, the song is question sounds more like Mambo #5 (not the Lou Bega song).
Two movie scenes where dance makes the ultimate giggles, this one and Robin Hood Men in Tights

Looks like Lindsay Hollister must join Dancing With the Stars. Dancing the Argentine Tango, with her partner Val, it's Lindsay Hollister.
Super!

The scene's hilarious, really funny!Although the actor should work out a bit more on that ugly "russian accent".. it's terrible!
