    I remember when the Mavic 3 came out back in November '21 with almost no features (though it was a firmware related issue). Buying a newly released drone means to live on the bleeding edge. All the best to you ✌

    Dji is not the only one. Releasing the SDK means that third party apps can use the features of their drones. So, SDK is NOT released for any of their new drones. For example, the SDK for mini 2 was released a few weeks before the mini 3 pro was released. The same thing happens with most companies, not only Dji, and not only companies that make drones. To be honest, as a professional, you should know which device is compatible with the software you want to use. It's like asking Apple to release the source code of iOs. This will never happen, unless it reaches end of time or support. Of course, this also applies to mini 3, mini 3 pro, mini 4 pro, mavic 3 classic etc:)... to almost all drones that are on the market and not more than 1-2 years old, no matter if it's autel, dji, hubsan, or whatever...

    If you live outside the US you cannot contribute to this petition. I bought the DJI Air3 to use for photogrammetry on bulk aggregate sites. I didn't realise I was buying a toy!!! It would be a nonsense to buy an old drone to do this...Perhaps DJI want you to purchase an enterprise drone to do this work, which would preclude 95% of business owners participating due to the significant uplift in cost...I would like to contribute to your fair gripe about this DJI marketing ploy. Please let me know if you can accomodate my wish by amending the petition?

    DJI has been transparent about it. They couldn’t have been clearer to you in the email and they have never given any indication the Air 3 would support the SDK.

    How about buying a drone that does have the proper SDK and a mechanical sutter, it not hard to do the proper homework

      True, the Mavic Enterprise would handle it, also more $$.

      If price is the issue, then buy a used Phantom 4 Pro. They are still the industry standard.@@AerialKnightsLV

    This video misses the primary problem with the Air 3 for photogrammetry. It's not the fact that they have not released the SDK for the Air 3. The drone is not a fit for photogrammetry because it does not have a mechanical shutter. Neither does the Air 2S, so the fact that it has an SDK available doesn't matter, contrary to what the video claims. Neither drone should be used for photogrammetry since the whole point behind it is to be able to take hyper accurate photos that are accurate to within centimeters. That is not something that's possible without a mechanical shutter. Theoretically one could fly VERY slowly, but any movement at all is still likely to present a problem with a rollling shutter & it would take all day to be able to photograph just a few acres even if one could do so. This is obviously not a practical solution. The video even makes this point at 1:10 into the discussion but then abruptly leaves that topic behind for some reason. I don't know why people are surprised or upset when tech companies don't include every kind of advanced capability in lower priced products that they do in their premium lines. They're in business to make money, & if you could get all the features you wanted by spending 1/4 of the money, nobody would buy a $5-6K drone. They'd obviously damage their own profitability, & eventually be at risk of going out of business. I plan to get into photogrammetry when I can afford it. In the meantime, I've found enough ways to use the Air 3 commercially that I don't need to bemoan the fact that it doesn't have the SDK released for a piece of equipment that is not designed for that job. Having a 2nd 70mm lens on the drone pushes the Air 3 into competition with the Mavic 3 Pro at a fraction of the cost. Look at it like this; this drone gives you the best of both worlds between the portability of the minis & the photographic capabilities of the Mavics. Is it AS GOOD in both those areas? No...but it gets close enough. If you learn to use this thing to its potential you can bank enough money to move up to a drone that has a mechanical shutter. Or if you don't want to wait you can guy a Phantom 4 Pro with a mechanical shutter used for the same price as a DJI Air 3 or maybe even less. You get a lesser transmission system with reduced range but if you're only using it to do photogrammetry, this shouldn't be an issue.

      @AerialKnightsLV  11 месяцев назад +2

      Unfortunately no, DJI needs to add this model to their Software developers kit, so that third parties can implement it into their software.

    is the dji mini 4 pro can do mapping?

    • @AerialKnightsLV
      @AerialKnightsLV  10 месяцев назад +3

      I doubt it, it is not in the Mobile SDK. Also the controller that we use for the Air 3 and Mini Pro 4 is locked down so we cant install 3rd party apps.

    With Mavic 3 (consummer series) it's even worse. M3 has been out much longer than the Air 3, and still no SDK release. DJI force us to buy more expensive shit like enterprise series, wich costs from 3,5 K to almost 6 K, insane.
    I hope AUTEL gets on this and start releasing competent models to force DJI provide a better service.

      After posting this video, I reached out to Autel to get information on their hardware. Was on hold for 30 minutes waiting to speak to someone and was forced to leave a voicemail. I still have not received a call back. I did some more research on Autel and seems a lot of people are complaining about their customer service.
