This one was a lot of fun to make - I kinda feel bad for my neighbours though who for the last week have had to listen to a lunatic banging bits of wood together and bellowing out demented tribal chants, haha :D
Big thanks to the Ubisoft team for sending me out the Wenja phrasebook, the prehistoric language really helped take the song to a different level :)
Hope y'all enjoy it!!
+miracleofsound omg
Well this song is worth the effort you put in it! This is another great one Gavin!
In a few months I am gonna make a lets play from Far Cry Primal. can I use this as background music ?
+miracleofsound This is fantastic and completely unexpected. No matter what language you sing in, anyone can enjoy your work.
Oh my gods that was epic!
This just proves my point, every song you make can be literally on the level of a caveman and it's still amazing.
any one else want to see gavs other songs in wenja now
@@fossilizedanimals5503 you offering to post covers, bro?
Sean D.G if he is, I’ll take that offer
IF DONE RIGHT!!!
Great, you can sing in an ancient prehistoric language better than I can in English.
+Martin Conway practise makes perfect. xD
+Liberatus Blair Maybe you should practice your spelling more then.
TEAJ yes, I know.
+TEAJ "Practise" is a valid spelling, look it up. :P
+TEAJ "Practise" = British spelling.
*clicks on video*
*instant demonic didgeridoo* I'm sold.
HAHAHA!!! Cudos to you man, that's the funniest sentence i've heard in a long time XD
firstoftheoutcast glad I made you smile! :D
+SH4D0W Are you an Australian shadow, by any chance?...
vtr0104 nope sorry
SH4D0W
Nothing to be sorry about, was just curious because you used that long word I heard a long time ago and which I associate with Australia for some reason.
Damn. Just banging together wood to get an authentic sound AND singing in a different language all together? Dude, you've got some serious dedication. You should be proud, especially since this sounds fuckin amazing.
+chcoman123 He also did a song where he sang in Mohawk and one where he sand in Celtic. Also, several have him singing in fictional languages.
+Igni Draco Those are not fictionnal languages D:
deuspatrima I did not way that Celtic or Mohawk were fictional languages! I said he did those, as well as several fictional languages.
+Igni Draco technically no language is fictional as long as the words actually have meanings. if it's gibberish sure, call it fictional/made up, but things like the dovah tongue of skyrim ARE languages, just not one many people speak, same with Tolkien elvish or klingon or whatever. they're all actual languages.
macadaddyn They can be actual languages and still be fictional. Just as a novel can be fiction and still be an actual book. It does not mean that they are not a real language. Just that they were designed as part of a fictional setting.
I've not played this videogame, but I find myself listening to this song every few days! I would pay for a full CD of this type of music
They should really hire you for promotional content. This song would fit so perfectly into the game in the credits or main menu. Still after all those years and endless songs I've heard from you, can't believe how incredibly talented you are. Already excited for level 7. Keep it up Gav
I have no idea how you can be so amazing at what you're doing, I don't care if you're sacrificing virgins to Cthulhu or if you're drinking tears of infants or something like that. As long as you're doing this amazing music, I'm all for it.
+Kysman95 I suspect that it has more to do with talent and practice than virgins, infants, or Things Man was Not Meant to Know. Or virgin Infants Man was Not Meant to Know.
+Timothy McLean Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
EHH I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE VIRGIN SACRIFICES CHIEF
I love the way this whole song was sung in their language, rather than English. It actually sounds better than it would if it were in English. Yet another awesome song, keep 'em coming!
+Christopher Wolfe damn you, i'll never be able to hear this song the same way. :)
Once again, even though I haven't played the game it's based on, I fucking love Gavin's song about it.
+Mike the Man I think you meant Blood Dragon for $15.
+Mike the Man far cry 3 history was amazing, one of the best antagonist i ever saw on a game XD
"Kana" means "Chicken" In Finnish. And boom, now you´re a little bit smärter...
+A Husky From Finland Also kinda hungry...
+A Husky From Finland
Well then... Next time I'm in McDonalds in Helsinki I'll just start yelling this song at them so :D
(Yes, I've actually been to a McDonalds in Helsinki, it's a lovely city. Finland is a wonderful place!!)
miracleofsound What were ya doing in Helsinki?
+A Husky From Finland Long story... went there as a teenager and made friends with Krisse Salminen who's apparently quite a big deal there now... we have gone to visit her twice since and also because I just love Finland and the Finns :) facebook.com/MiracleOfSound/photos/a.357362920970312.84517.198036756902930/774100805963186/?type=3&theater
+Sami073 Mitä sinä teet? Tulet tänne ja haukut hänen ystäväänsä. Aika paskamaista, eikö muka sinusta.
going through several MOS songs i can't help but realise that Gav is one of the most talented musicians i know. not only is not even one song the same, they are all damned good. keep being awesome!
My experience discovering him was that I found Wake the White Wolf and I said, "Alright so he made a kickass song. No way all of them are this good." Then I listened to shadow of the ash. "Alright... Two really good songs... Third two flukes, maybe?" Legends of the Frost. "4th times the charm maybe?" And I just went through his entire discography.
Dude, Gav, if you're reading this, please don't ever stop making music. World with MoS > world without MoS. as long as you keep making music, I'll keep listening to it and supporting you by buying it on iTunes.
Rock on dude.
0:17 Me when the party is really good.
+Khajiit Keshash Does Khajiit have wares?
I have coin.
Sorry, Skyrim has bad internet and no postage service, except that damn courier. Have you saw our Ebay account? "Postage: collection only"
It's the best channel of original musics ever
I have to say I enjoyed this song... even though my first few times listening to it without watching the video, I did not realize that it was in another language. This is proof that your instrumentals are good enough that you could make every song gibberish from this day on and you would still be one of my favorite musicians.
This is better then the main theme of he game and damn well fits better!
+CJ Ware I often think, when listening to these songs and hearing that Gavin will occasionally get useful materials from the companies, that they should pay him afterwards to allow them to stick the songs in.
I mean, think of listening to this with the ending credits or as the intro to a DLC storyline :-p
+CircleTheSkies If I somehow ended up in a position where I'm choosing music for a video game with a budget, I'd commission a Miracle of Sound song. They're awesome and come with complimentary advertisement!
+CJ Ware Im surprised he hasn't already been asked to compose a song for a game. Even if its just for a promo add or something.
+FF sake If I recall correctly he was commissioned for both Watchdog's "Digital Shadow" and Mass Effect 3 "Take it Back" but with that having been awhile back I'm probably misremembering.
Garacaius Irendean If I recall correctly, neither of those were in the games or promotional material.
Sounds badass as hell, for some reason it gives me a Dishonored vibe, got no ideea why...
+Thazer, The Lore Master The horns maybe?
lol
it takes a lot of skill to make a song that stays accurate to a fake ass language, well done!
+Kristian Bailey He's done it before - he's previously composed in Dovahzhul
aNerdNamedJames I'm aware.
+aNerdNamedJames Oh.. I'd love to see more songs in Dovahzhul, the few that exist all sound awesome.
+aNerdNamedJames I would like to know if that song is on RUclips. I sure as Hell can't find it if it is. Unless you mean one minor bit in the Sovngarde song.
He's done a song in Dovahzhul? I only know the word Qahnaarin. :/
Primal meeds a sequel and this song need to be the theme
I didn't know how much I wanted to listen to a prehistoric tribal chant until I heard this song. Great job
I'm obsessed with your music amazing
you're one of the greatest, most intelligent and creative musician and singer i've ever known. keep up the great work man !
You even took the time to do it in another language completly to fit the game...Gavin, you're a true artist :)
Amazing atmosphere. Just perfect.
Sometimes I think you're some sort of Irish musician, Gavin. All of your songs are fantastic, I utterly cannot stop binge-listening to some Miracle of Sound tunes. Really love how all the hard work pays off to create such awesome content!
The feeling when "kana" means a chicken in Finnish...
In estonian as well.
Well our languages are pretty close to each other
+Syksyn Lehti voi vittu xD
+Syksyn Lehti "bleed" in Turkish. Appropriate as well.
+Syksyn Lehti translates to slide in swedish...
@miracleofsound To think you shot all of that footage without the ability to just switch off the HUD in one click... mad props, my man.
I just saw the Tweet from, like two hours ago and thought: "Hey, maybe it's already uploaded. Let's look at his channel". And then I saw it was uploaded 57 seconds ago and I was like best timing ever :D
I'm glad there's other fans of this game too!
you are the best singer i know do you planing a concert ?
Planning*
+Oliver Randuska He's just one man; He does the vocals, the instruments, and the needed editing to produce these amazing songs all on his own unless otherwise stated in the credits or description. As such he can't do a concert however awesome that would be.
+La Volpa you have right
+Oliver Randuska No live shows planned for the forseeable future!
+miracleofsound OK
The crazy shaman edited in at the beginning killed me it’s like perfectly on time almost
Can't unsee... The title of the track, in Finnish, means 'chicken' xD
So everytime Gav shouts 'Kana!' it's like he REALLY WANTS THAT DAMN CHICKEN
Finally, a song about Far Cry Primal that doesn’t think metal is the most appropriate genre for the game.
This is amazing holy shit dude great job !
+0nlySurvivor Thank you!
miracleofsound No Problem man, keep up the good work !
My friend asked what music you do when I was talking about you. And my on the spot reply was 'he's like a Crazy, Irish, John Lennon-Esque, Gaming Music Scientist'. It worked! He likes you now! :0
Somebody at Ubisoft needs to hire this man!
Holy shit, this kicks ass!! You keep surprising me in all the best possible ways with each song you make!
This song made me buy the game. Thank you!
whoa...all the hairs on my arms stood up during this song! so awesome man!
Christ alive man. This is beautiful. And. Monumentally impressive.
Wow. Brilliant! Very nicely performed in a tribal style. Empowering and fear sowing music in one song. I would definitely listen to this while playing the game, or writing my novels. :3
Very unique and awesome as always Gav you continue to spoil us :)
YES! YES! I told you he'd do it! I told you it'd be great!
Duuuuude that was awesome of Ubisoft to send you this and you put it to fantastic use. While I do sympathies for your neighbors this was totally worth it. It sounded amazing and from what trailers I've seen really fits the bill of this upcoming game. I don't need to tell you awesome job, but I will anyway~ Keep it up my bro!
+Red Muller Thank you, glad ya dig it :)
+miracleofsound
just give your neighbours a free cd and there will be all happy with you again
This is amazing!
Can you next make a Song about Hitman? 👌
This is actually best song you ever made by yourself (Number one is still Lady of the worlds)
All I need to do is get this song stuck in my head and then I can speak wenja a little bit
Inspiring. Thanks for including lyrics, I was singing along after first 30 seconds
well now i gotta get this to add to my collection, as usual great work g man
Awesome song, as always. Apart from enjoying the music itself, as well as the cool lyrics, I love the way it sounds (Obviously, if I like the song, I think it sounds good, given the nature of music and how it's consumed) but I mean the way that it's very crisp and feels good to listen to. The sound was balanced and the instruments were sharp and clear. The vocal layering was also very lovely. Each harmony resonated through perfectly. In other words, it makes my ear holes feel good on multiple levels.
I also wanted to say thank you for continuing to make music. You are my absolute favorite artist, and you inspire me to better myself as a musician and a person. More than just upholding your standard of excellence, you surpass it with every new creation. I love your music, old and new, and I can't wait to hear what comes next.
+Jennifer Alt
WDYM I NEVER KNEW THIS EXISTED 😳😳 I'm a huge FC Primal fan, and this is just GOLD
Well done, brashtar ✊🏼🎉
This is incredibly different then anything you have done before, and I love it! Amazing job!
+King of the Britons who are the britons?
+King of the Britons King of the who?
I don't know. Maybe Britain?
+kaklikful We all are, we are all Britons and he is our king!
+kingkong381 I didn't vote for him.
The fact that you coped with a theoretically intuited language to make such a song is purely amazing.
I am a huge primitive survival lover and i truely love your far cey primal music could you make any more
Check out Paleowolf on RUclips.
@@Rapora9 already have and their good but not quite what im looking for thanks for the suggestion
Fricking awesome. Seriously man I don't know how you keep doing this but every time you publish a new song you grow even higher in my esteem. You wrote a whole fricking song in the Wenja language? So you're a genius as well as being an amazing singer. Seriously dude you deserve more recognition than you get. Keep going man you rock (literally XD )
+B0R15 D0WNL0AD Thank you very much :)
This is incredibly awesome. In fact it's so awesome it leaves me wanting an Elder Scrolls song in Dovahzul or Ayleidoon, along with a Tolkien universe song in Sindarin or the Black Speech. Yes, that last one, my god. Death metal in Black Speech.
Sorry, of course I don't expect any of those, I was just nerdgasming too hard. Still, this turned out to be a really cool performance.
"Elder Scrolls song in Dovah-zul"
Dovahkiin: "Baby I'm not even here, I'm just a hallucination"
Without a doubt, my favorite game in the Far Cry Franchise. Love this! 👍
Wow, I totally wasn't expecting this!
Bravo! :D
Me is man, man give like!
Great job as always :) ( even though I didn't personally enjoy this one that much)
You are amazing!
Brilliant idea mate! You sir are a living legend. Superb work!
This was so awesome, Gav. Always happy to see a new song. Loved the effort you put into making it, the song came out amazing. It would be cool to have behind the scenes on a video... or live steam/Twitch.
Fucking love that huge horn that bellows throughout, powerful shit!
this was a really good song, it makes me want to play far cry primal even more
Forgive my English is not very good because I'm a canary, but I had to tell you to do some amazing work and with this song in the language of the game you have far exceeded. So teacher continues.
+Miguel Gabriel You are forgiven. Your English is indeed quite bad, considering that a Canary is a type of bird!
+Igni Draco I sexually identify as a Canary.
As amazing as always! Great job!!
Another great song, though the chorus had me thinking "I've heard this somewhere before" . Then it hit me: the French refrain in "My Revolution" is almost the same melody line, just a different tempo. Yes, I play them that many times :)
I didn't know what to expect from a Far Cry Primal Song.
I was very pleasantly surprised.
It is simply magical! The best song of Level7 for me! By any chance, are there any more songs or composers in such style out there?
Fun fact: In Estonian and Finnish, "Kana" means "Chicken"
Do with that what you will...
This was insanely impressive.
The chorus reminds me a lot of Hindu mantra chants. I remember singing similar sanskrit chants at Kirtan sometimes up at the buddhist yoga retreat.
How is it that the shitty rap songs based on this game have more views than this?
This dude legit sang the song in the games language.
Best songs ever ,,, Love that song
You could have made an amazing song in English, and yet you went above and beyond and made it in the Wenja language. Well done! I tip my hat to you, sir.
Best song ever when talking about lyrics!
So I like linguistics a lot (I'm going to uni to study languages) and I looked at the lyrics for this without really knowing anything about Far Cry. Noticed words like "sampar" for "forever" and "swa" for "each other" and had to look it up cause I recognised them
*The entire language is derived from Proto-Indo-European, the ancestor language to everything from English to Greek to Latin to Sanskrit and you can see it in the words themselves and I think that's absolutely awesome*
I realise that entire comment might sound a little snooty or r/humblebrag. That's because it is.
Before listening, i wondered what you could have put in the song. Mmh…Surely a tribal rithm…maybe some animal/natural noises...
But i didnt immagine that you actually sang it in wenja language. That's crazy.
And wonderfull.
But mostly crazy. XD
You sir are a Legend. Don't let anyone tell you other wise.
Brb guys gonna go hunt me a mammoth or something.
I love it. I loved the far cry series, But this one, bringing the song to it, Just raises it to a whole new level. Thank you, Gavin.
You've always seemed to get the atmosphere of the game into your music.
Something that i've come to enjoy with every new song like it.
Once again Gav, you rock \m/ \m/
Love the sound of this song. It brings out the inner cave man
Awesome song ! My new fav song you always do the best. I really want that phase book too . I want to be real life Gwarpati
Purchased Far Cry Primal yesterday and had to give this one a listen. Decided to make it the official theme now. Bloody good game by the way 0_0
This is one of your best work so far!
Great music as always!
One of the most epic videogames I've ever played
This music is amazing! I love your channel
epic it´s short for thad my friend exselent worck
best thing that it's in their language. must have been alot of work.
Amazing!
amazing as always Gav!
Awesome! I'm getting a Sepultura Kaiowas vibe from this :D
This is brilliant! Positively brilliant! It's great that Ubisoft sent you the phrasebook! You made incredible use out of it. I wish I could give this 100s of thumbs up because it is fantastic!
Great song good on ya gav and good luck writing the next awesome one
I love the primal feel to this. I'm sure this was a absolute joy to make
Fun Fact:
Kana is Chicken in finnish.
Have a wonderful day.
I was posting same comment but u were faster
+PoisoNico93 For some reason, I read that with your icon's smiling face saying it happily.
+PoisoNico93 Aaaand now I'm only ever going to hear that while listening to this...
+PoisoNico93 Kana is a common japanese female name ^^ So, your fact not so fun.
+PoisoNico93 Fun fact kana describes the group that hirogana and katakana is in in japanese
1:58 That guy be like "I can be Miracle of Sound too!" Sorry, buddy, but you can't best the Dragonbard.
finaly a song that does not sound like a copy of the other with a new jacket on it.
well done sir, enjoyed it a lot
"Of the other" What "other"?
maybe its just me but most of his other songs blur together and sound almost the same.
bit more teckno here, bit more rock there but the underlining sound is almost always the same
I'm absolutely in love with the melody in this one.
You know what would be fun a Smite song just imagine dude + ive been watching u since forever love your work and you :D
awesome as always man... keep it up!
