@@maxdurk4624 Kidd led all players in the 2011 Playoffs in Assists, Steals, and Three-Pointers made. He was also crucial on defense, and played a key role in holding LeBron James to under 18ppg in the NBA Finals. Also you can't discount the experience factor of Kidd having carried two teams to the Finals previously as his team's only All Star.
JJ also had a great playoff run, and the Mavs couldn't have won it without his contributions, but there's good reasons why Kidd played more minutes than him, and also why Kidd always played in the clutch minutes.
It's not fair to discount any player from that 2011 Mavs team, as it truly was a whole team effort winning that championship. Even guys like Brendan Haywood and Brian Cardinal might be forgotten today, but they also were instrumental in the Mavs success.

I bet on the 06 Finals. Took the Heat. When the Mavs went up 2-0 i was like well it certainly isn't over. Too many NBA fans these days think a series is over after 1-2 games. It is preposterous. A long list of teams have been down 0-2 and came back to win a series. Hell look at the Warriors in 2016, down 3-1 and they come back and win. Then up 3-1 and the Cavs come back and win.
Also Dwade's coming out party in that Finals was a thing of beauty to watch. That man literally took over that entire series. Complete domination from games 3-6. Gotta give that brother respect.
In all honesty tho the Mavs probably should have won. I thought they were the better team. I took the Heat to make it interesting because i didn't care who won. But Miami won game 3 by a bucket. Then won game 5 by 1 point and game 6 by 3 points. Games 1, 2, and 4 were blowouts. Still tho, Wade's performance was one of the all time greats. Simmons annoys me because he repeatedly cannot give teams/players credit. The Heat and Wade had nothing to do with the Mavs losing that Finals, instead it was the refs who cost em the series. Epic win over the Spurs only to get taken down by Davis Stern and the barrage of whistles in the finals.

yes because the nba would rather hvae small market miami then big market dallas win..you make no sense..dirk choked at the ft line in games 3 and 5 late.thats why they lost..blame him ...in 2003 dirk got hurt in 2004 with a stacked roster he choked again....in 2007 he choked as a 67-10 team after a 0-4 start and rested their team to end the season so that last loss was not real either..they were basically a 70 win team in 2007..how he choke to a 40 loss team and why he only won 4 playoff series this decade?...and 5 since 2007 started?

The Spurs are a definite dynasty just with gasps for air. It wasnt a tyrannical fuled by fear and power dynasty. It was a peaceful dynasty. A break from tyrants that we enjoyed as resting eras between turbulent times.
When you pause to assess r Spurs a dynasty thats the dynasty they are. A dynasty with that pause, with pauses, breath held dynasty. Wait dynasty. R they hsst hmm 🤔 a dynasty yes they r a hsst hmm 🤔 dynasty...

Dirk might only have one title but he was a better PF than Tim Duncan. Duncan's great but he benefited from the Spurs system and having one of the top 3 coaches in NBA history

The Spurs didn't have that level of dominance in their DNA. They had element of surprise and steady consistency in their DNA but they didnt have Jordan Russell Auerbach Jackson DNA. Nor Bird and Magic and Kareem and Chief DNA. They had Duncan DNA. Not SHAQ Kobe DNA. They had Popovich DNA.

Did these two conveniently forget that Tim Duncan’s plantar fascia was severely injured?
Here’s the truth. There was no point in watching that series because Dallas was not the better team and was in the running only because Tim Duncan was hurt.

There are only two dynasties in NBA history: Lakers and Celtics. A dynasty is a multi generation thing. Not a one man (MJ Bulls, Dream Rockets) or single decade (Heat, Warriors) run of rings. End of this debate.

BC he never averaged 10 rebounds KG is better? Lmao. Dirk owned KG almost every time they played against each other. KG never took the Timbervolves anywhere near to the finals, needed 2 All-Stars in their prime to do so. Dirk did it twice, with mediocre teams with good role players. By the way: he had 7,5 rebounds for his career, which is petty decent for a guy being known for his scoring first..
