You can go back to the past, but nobody is there
Underrated quote
there’s nobody here
Except for me :)
ill never forget thos words bro..gonna get that quote tatted on me. i be tryna live in nostolgia, espcially from 10 plus years ago..its so easy to pick up where i left off and go back. but its empty..its just me there.. and everyone else is in 2024..takes the fun out and adds a level of fear and paranoia
that shits creepy💀
Liminality is just such a beautiful concept
I know I’m starting to wish I would have went a little more in depth on the concept
there are (imo) 6 reasons as to why older versions of minecraft had a strong sense of dread and comfort:
>thicker fog
>crispy textures
>slower/calmer gameplay
>hard to find to non-existent friendly NPCs
>shared footstep sounds for every mob
>less mobs and less blocks to work with
bring those back to current versions and i swear people will get that old feeling of liminality and uneasy comfort as of before
Shared footsteps with mobs used to be trippy always thought someone was around me😂 and I might make a vid on older Minecraft versions👀
Honestly just playing with the render distance lowered and resolution lowered really makes a huge difference
if anyone remembers some of those old ~2014 era modpacks for minecraft, some of them had at least 5 mods that added tons of empty structures, especially over and near water. there was one structure mod that added tons of things like hot air balloons and pirate ships and huge vacuous cathedral like buildings with no mobs set to spawn on them or anything, they were always empty with maybe some chests in them. It was a landscape filled with basically empty buildings that gave me a feeling that i have not found anywhere else.
Dude I remember getting this vibe a few times in crazycraft back in the day
you’ve unlocked a memory for me that was locked deep in my subconscious. these always gave me the weird feeling that I was not supposed to be there
Woah, yeah I remember that. That mod is still in RLCraft I think, which I used to play a lot. Definitely a vibe.
What mods exactly?
@@1-UP it looks like the exact mod i may be referring to is AtomicStryker's ruins mod.
There is this sort of vibe that your videos invigorate that i cant shake off. Thank you for making these!
Your welcome that's why I make them🙏
Liminal space is like being a kid and looking over at your closet and you can see everything but that one dark corner of it with a silhouette of a shirt or maybe something else.. that’s in there
Bro, u got mad potential, came here from ur MCSX video. keep It up
I will thanks for the appreciation I’ll try to make next video even better👍
The way I get my liminal feeling is that I make sure that almost everything I build has to NOT make sense in some way or another. Maybe a shop has a hidden secret that leads to some underground tunnels, maybe there's a catwalk that leads to nowhere, maybe some stairs lead up to a massive room that houses only one chest. Heck, even my house looks like something straight out of Hello Neighbour. You have no idea how much I smile when I'm in Discord with friends and they ask me what the hell I was thinking when making whatever. I rarely am able to achieve that LIMINAL feeling with any of my builds, but I definitely do think that I get some kind of fun feeling whenever I decide to add things to a build that just don't make sense or have no purpose being there.
I remember booting up my xbox 360 playing the old version of xbox minecraft and exploring the all the worlds i created and the feeling was surreal
I know Xbox 360 version def still had that old Minecraft vibe
When all you want to do is spin up that 2011 minecraft world you made with your friends but they all tell you they are exhausted from work and kids so you wander around reminiscing looking at all the 13 year old builds alone :(
I just found your channel, and you’re combining two of my favorite things in one. I’d totally watch more of this!
🙏I love to hear it I’ll keep it up
My main world is a world of endless snow forests, with a few spooky creatures stalking me from the trees, I have a nice cabin, farm, and watchtower, my cabin is the only source of warmth in the entire world.
Sounds cozy tbh I'd love to have a world like that
@@ItsMovie_Sonic1 it is until you leave the cabin 💀
@@mclovin2408 lol
@@mclovin2408 I make mines and a litte bunker in there unless they spawn underground to
@@ItsMovie_Sonic1 yeah I got brutally torn apart inside my cave base so I moved out
I can’t play minecraft. I have tried but it’s just too nostalgic for me. Too much have changed, and i don’t just mean ”we grew up” i mean ”shit turned from ok to real fucking bad”. It’s just really surreal and i don’t know what to do with it. And then it’s just scary af
honestly playing alone does that to me sometimes where it just feels like I'm trying to hard to relive something and its get sad a scary quick
Love this video and the PS1 minecraft video! I've been wanting to make a video or videos playing minecraft horror but never really found any packs or mods that captured that particular liminal feeling i was looking to play in. I feel like it was because they all seemed so modern, so the point of liminality being tied to nostalgia really makes sense to me. And the PS1 mod being different enough to immerse you in gameplay while capturing that nostalgia and eerie feeling is perfect. I'm excited to play it, and I'm looking forward to more of your videos! The way you express your thoughts is nice to listen to!
Thanks man I really appreciate the love🙏
Wow, I just watched this and your other PS1 Minecraft video and I must say - stellar work!! 🙌🏻 keep doing what you’re doing cause this shit is GOOD! Would love to see you potentially explore future liminal horror Minecraft mods like the last video, or just more Minecraft and liminal videos in general - the vibes your videos bring are just something else and I love it 👌🏻❤️
Thank you sm I appreciate the support🙏 And the next few videos I'm going to post are going to be a bit different but that's because I need to use some footage to clear some space up then after that ill make more Minecraft related content
Bro if you keep it up with these awesome videos I’m gonna get back into Minecraft.
Good video! I knew that last video would be a hit. Let's hope it keeps going brother!
Thanks for the support and I appreciate the kind words😁
So, I was kinda not familiar with the liminal spaces, but I was at the same time. I don't know how to explain. Since I'm not english native, there is not a lot of explanation in my language for "liminal spaces". I've heard some french youtubers talking about it but very quickly. You kinda explained in 8 mins what I couldn't understand for 2 years. Great video. Thanks!
Also: I'd say 2b2t and the alpha minecraft serv that still exist (I don't remember the name of it) are the 2 most liminal servs ever created lol.
omg your so welcome I'm glad I was able to present liminal spaces in a digestible way to you😊
And I would agree Id have to assume there's probably some really weird spaces in there
@@DeadPresidents22 ahah yh thats nice. I'm looking forward for your new vids. Cya! :)
Brilliant video, waiting eagerly for it to blow up!!
Me too😂 and thank you
I wish I could go back in the past, back in Minecraft 2015 when I played first, but its lonely there, it's the past, no one will have open arms waiting for me, it's scary, s scary concept.
Love your take on this type of video style🔥
Thank you🙏
I personally love your old Minecraft videos, especially the PS1 horror mod.
I really enjoyed this video and your analysis of the liminality of Minecraft. I agree that the game has a unique aesthetic and atmosphere that can evoke nostalgia, curiosity, and sometimes fear. I think Minecraft is a great example of how a simple game can have a profound impact on our emotions and imagination. Thank you for making this video and sharing your thoughts.
Thank you I appreciate that you enjoyed the video and love that other people share these same feelings🙏
You’re devastatingly underrated bro..
As soon as libets delay plays i know this will be good. And all you want to do is get back there omg. The caretaker is fire. Too bad they ended so fast.
I know there shit works so good for what there going for
Your microphone definitely contributes to the overall feel of this video, please keep it around!
Bro your so underated keep posting and i know you will make it big
Thank you man and don’t worry more content will be coming
I Absolutely love your videos bro keep it up ❤‼🔥💯
great content. subscribed
0:05 badass castle
I have a feeling of "life was just here, but it left" when seeing old abandoned Minecraft servers/builds
awesome video
maybe try making a tierlist of the best/classic liminal spaces
Omg yes this is perfect thank you👍 if u see a video like this in the future it’s cause of u😂
0:19 NO BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN THAT BEFORE.
Yoo your music choices are great! Do you mind sharing them?
i think u should explore the liminality of the backroom videos and games
In the future I want to do a video on something that came out recently on the backrooms👀
huh, was NOT expecting six fourty seven when starting up a video. That caught me off guard
I was playing a nostalgic minecraft remake, infdev ver, and I never said the word "Minecraft" the whole time, I go on my fyp, right here, and the rest of my fyp is all nostalgic Minecraft, I got chills down my spine when I saw this.
bro i love ur videos ❤❤
Another really cool video
It’s nice to see you enjoy this video too thank you☺️
Very nice video. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that so many of these types of videos are popping up. It’s a very universal experience we have with this game.
I would agree
i would actually disagree. yes there are things in game back in the day and communities with shared experiences and generally, most people who played minecraft in the golden age feel a certain way about it, but i personally think that the thoughts and feelings a game like minecraft gives mixes with the old liminal space feeling to give everyone a unique feeling. or im just high.
@@covet.323 hey everyone has their own opinion and I think idk about the other guy but I am too😂
Loved this video.
Glad you enjoyed it🙏
you cooked so hard! amazing job my guy! B)
You know how it is👨🍳🙏

Let him cook🔥🔥🍽️
👨🍳
Don't forget the old Beta terrain generation!
nice content bro keep it up
You know I’m going to have to😂
Oh yea you earned a sub my guy
playing old versions of minecraft is scary because you're all buy yourself and no one can join you if they know what version you are on.
if I hear Libet's Delay in a liminal space video one more time I SWEAR TO GOD-
U can’t do liminal spaces without caretaker it’s like math😂😂
@@DeadPresidents22 true
No one is there
But you are aware of it
You are aware there is nobody
Nobody left, exactly, everyone did, everyone left
This is great
Underrated channel, this video captures and explains og minecraft perfectly
Thank you I appreciate the support😄🙏
Try silent hill gameplay I feel like it would be hilarious to watch
ill look into it
this is why i got shaders and fresh animations to make minecraft more goofy and have less liminality
man u gonna get big
The farlands capture this feeling perfectly
severly underrated, loved the video big guy
LETS GO IM A BIG GUY 💪 but thank you I appreciate it🙏
I feel that, Minecraft is Limitless
Idea: Make a video on the free steam game: "The Complex"
I cried when I heard this song at the beginning at the video.
the song 6:47?
Somebody is watching me
4:06 PAUSE AND LOOK TO THE RIGHT
Even now, i still make liminal spaces even tho i dont even mean to in minecraft.
I remember being scared of cave noises as a kid.
Man. They still scare me…
this is peak content
But I have to make it even better
Ayo this guy kinda slaps
I appreciate it🙏
me when a youtuber explains what a liminal space is for the 5000483403076th time
minecraft hasn't had liminality since 1.5.2
ok now this guy this guy is pretty cool
The mic is so good so 🔥🔥🔥
Nice to know the one I am using doesn’t sound too bad😂
A good channel for Minecraft liminal spaces is 1heaven
Finallyyyy❤❤🎉

4:06 look at the very right near the tree which has vines there is the creepy herobrine

It’s apart of the experience😂

i feel like liminal horror is just boring by now
i found a easter egg, it was a nerd emoji -0.5 seconds on disappearing 0:45
Hey man really love your videos, really good quality, hmu up if youd ever like to do a video together, i quit recording because the people i know are boring 💀
Im sorry, i cant unhear the Undertale music lmao
Please can you tell me the name of music track at 1:43. You used this track several times in the video.👍
