I got you bro. Go to your pc settings and put the screen resolution down lower. There should be a resolution that changes the aspect ratio back to the square crt like shape. Idk how it came to me but it works. That’s how I’m playing now

The worst part about this pack is when you finally get into the loop of building a house, or trying to make a farm, and you get really invested and engaged in it, and while you're in the middle of planning the build herobrine shows up and scares the shit out of you

It's freaking me out that kids born in 2008 - 2009 are looking back at Minecraft in retrospect like I do but they're a decade younger than me.

Hey as a side note can you please remove phantoms? no offense because you probably worked hard to port it but they ruin every version they’re in and this is a really good one.
I realize it’s also supposed to be a horror mod. So I suppose if it’s implemented for that effect it’s fine. I’m not sure how often it spawns but you could possibly decrease the spawn rate if the spawn is normal. and make the insomnia the same but randomly rather than after 3 days, not sure if it works like that already. Also once again I apologize if the last command sounded rude, it’s just phantom’s can kinda be annoying, especially how it’s implemented in newer versions.

You might have said you knew what it was already and I just missed it, but just in case: The sign is in Swedish, it basically just translates to "I'm watching you" or "I can see you" (If I'm reading it right), also, the stairs are based on a folklore/creepypasta where people are finding stairs that lead to nowhere in forests, and people who go up them end up go missing and aren't found.
"Jag tittar på dig" would directly translate to "I am looking at you"

yeah basically while nintendo invested on model and texture detail sony didnt so the wobble effect is due to a lack of proper distance calculation so it quickly tries to stitch everything together causing the warping hard to explain but basicalli it lacked standard features that were made standard by the n64 the n64 probably would have done better if it used discs@@DeadPresidents22

Normal, old minecraft is so much scarier than the dweller mods. With the bug that forces you to keep moving the direction you were going if you open a menu or something... that shit nearly gave me a heart attack when it happened to me.

I love these kind of Long-Paced Videos. Specially when it's a Minecraft horror analog type video, It brings back the old Minecraft nostalgia and it's fun to watch even though the feeling is kinda unnerving.

I think the random Stairs are a reference to the story of "I'm a search and rescue officer for the us forest service"
It's a pretty popular Reddit horror story that actually got a bunch of audio video adaptations on RUclips.
One of the many anomalies the protagonist encounters is a bunch of "Stairs" in the Forest, and that actually DO exist in real life Forest.
The story is very vague and eerie, but it basically states to NOT go up them as weird things happen when you do.

The stairs in the woods are just projections of aspects of the Anti-Human Library, it's more of an accident that they appear if anything. But there's a reason why thr library has that name regardless of how awesome the place is or how friendly Anios is. Because it exists in higher and lower Dimensions all at once, it radiates countless forms of volatile energy such as extreme radiation, which can cause people to get really sick or even die near them.
Yeah there was a mod included in the modpack that only added those stairs, and the mod was inspired by that creepypasta

4:39 The distortion is part of the PS1's limited shading capabilities and would be purposeful in emulating the aesthetic. Its also seen in the retro ps1 style horror games that Puppet Combo and others do.

They should look into making it so that when you're in an underground biome and trying to go up, it copies the original world generation (but reversed or something to make it look fluid) back and forth further and further up so it feels like you go on forever, until eventually leading back to the true area again after a while.
Honestly this is a good idea it would just be really hard to pull off

Yeah I don’t really like how the modpack doesn’t communicate to you how the sanity mechanic works. Especially since you have no way of knowing how much sanity you have (I can’t even turn it on in the config).

Some of this stories says if you try to go up on one of those you disappear forever. Videos talking about them where popular back in 2019 and 2020
So a note on the texture quirks: This is one of the defining features of PS1 graphics and is due to two things - Affine Texture Mapping and a lack of sub-pixel precision (no floating numbers). Basically, the first thing deals with textures that are generally good at showing perspective straight on, either tilted on a vertical or horizontal axis but not on any other unusual angle, and the second issue basically means that values are in whole numbers only (i.e. 1.4568 would be 1). Mix that with low resolution and that's why polygons and textures on the PS1 are known to be really jumpy and strange with their textures.
Playing Minecraft with friends was fun and memorable. But playing a singleplayer world always made me feel like I wasn't alone. Yes there are hostile mobs trying to kill me all the time, but the feeling that there's someone else too. Minecraft survival has always do that to me. Idk if it just because I just always play on multiplayer servers before, but that feeling still lingers in my solo world. This mode might have elevated that feeling 10 times
I had the exact same experience with how I found out about the game. I think I was in for a doctor's appointment when I was 5, bored in the waiting room so I asked one of my parents if I could download a game on their phone and I did so. I played it in early 2012 I believe. I think I built a house out of bookshelves on a lake or something just after they added the creative mode feature to the game.
The limited blocks is so nostalgic and I remember the bookshelf being one of my most used blocks back the for sure😂

I remember there was a way to play minecraft for free with your own username and everything that you could change whenever. It was back in 2012 on the school computers. Used to play it all the time, then there was lite which I started playing on my iPad which shortly after I got the actual game and used to join random servers with a full black skin and creep up in children and scare em. I think I was only like 10 haha.

I thought that fog in the nether when it was first introduced in Minecraft was similar to the fog in Silent Hill. And now that Minecraft is in ps1graphics, it really amplified that thought even more especially with that horrific scream.

The weird block distortion as well as that intense fog are part of the psx shaders which simulate the playstation 1 geaphical fidelity. Its pretty neat but lower end systems may need to turn it off. I also had a bug with them where no lights except the sun worked at all. So despite placing torches everywhere my world was always dark at night and underground. So i sadly had to turn them off. Strangely enough when i installed the shaders on another minecraft instance they worked fine.

The person that made this mod did a really good job on making it PS1 graphics. I remember playing old PS1 games as a kid in the 90's and some textures were exactly like what was in the minecraft mod when a player moves the textures move a bit on the polygons to the level model and so on.
I think I've seen people play this before as well on video, but it was for a different kind of content like 100 days or something else.
There's something so aesthetically pleasing with the PS1 Minecraft mod, it naturally matches the game so well

the texture and block distortion is because some the playstation 1 mapped all polygons on whole integers, and never floating point values, so there wasnt an "in between" spot for things to lie, so theyd almost get magnetized to a specific spot in a 3d grid of coordinates. theres more to it than that, but thats it incredibly simplified
