It's like Rick created a filter. A separated multiverse for himself where he's the smartest. Evil Morty wanted to break that filter and get out to the true unfiltered universe that's not dominated by Ricks. That was my observation anyway

This is so good and this was the moment that showed how genius the show was. All theories, detail mining, all stories. It is not the easiest show to get but im still surprised how many people dont get stuff that show is literally explaining.
There was never evil rick, he was controlled by evil morty. And how evil morty said, rick created a closed of 'universe' around timelines where he is the smartest and thats why he called him a crying baby, the whole plot twist of evil morty being called evil for simply being done with rick and wanting to free himself from his BS was just pure gold (and there is more genius to come!)

So you asked what happened to the evil rick- that can be one of two so I’ll just go in order (I won’t spoil anything season six)
If you’re referring to the evil rick that had been with evil Morty back in s1 ep 10, he got beaten to death by the Mortys that escaped. Although he technically wasn’t a rick at all- more of a robot that was being controlled by evil Morty the entire time.
If you’re referring to the rick that you saw kill our Ricks family in the flashback, that’s a character that we refer to as Rick Prime. He has a bigger role in season six, so you won’t find out what happened with him quite yet

I think all Mortys are capable of being as clever as evil Morty.
But the Ricks prevent this to control their Mortys.

We see this with 'our' Morty. He may not be super intelligent but hes smart in his own right and fairly clever.

It’s a bit confusing, but it is explained in the episode. The central finite curve kept the infinite universes limited to where Rick is the smartest being in the galaxy. Evil Marty’s goal is to escape the curve so that he can live in universes where Rick isn’t the smartest and therefore free himself from Rick’s control. This should conceivably be the end of evil morty. It might not be, but it should be, and it is the reason they tease other main plot point(Rick prime).

Evil Rick was a robot controlled by Evil Morty. He was introduced and killed just before the end of S1. I think the only other time he shows up alive is in the mobile game Pocket Mortys
