If the tone and pacing of the episode wasn't that of a first year drama student, maybe that twist would've had some impact. As is it feels like the writers were actively trying to make me not give a shit about the show anymore.
It's easily in the top five, if not in the top three. There's only one or two that I can think of off the top of my head that were better. No, this is the second best episode.
This episode is another great example of how much you can do with the concept of this show. Ricks and Mortys in the Citadel are still two separate social classes, but within those two classes, them all being the "same" means they're reduced to the things that make them different. It's basically just math, 'solve for X' and all that. So a Rick that is slightly less intelligent or slightly less ambitious than the next Rick is going to wind up working a menial job in a factory, where Ricks who are bigger assholes and more creative thinkers will wind up on top. There were some amazing jokes in this, but when this episode hits hard it hits HARD. Evil Morty's "you're outnumbered" speech gives me chills. RUclipsr Chetreo did a music remix of this episode with that as the chorus. And people were dyyyyyyying for something in the Evil Morty plotline. The fact we got it in such a cool way, and that it's still a tease, was awesome.
This episode for better or worst changed the fandom and created an over speculative toxic fanbase which eventually changed the course of how season 4 and 5 go. They started directly responding to fans through the show instead of just storytelling.
I've always wanted to know more about the Rick that gave Morty the classified docs on Evil Morty. Like What? Why did you give them to him? Who were you working for? How did you find out that shit?
To answer your question of the is my favorite citadel is a mass effect reference. "My favorite store in the citadel" it's a sci Fi game really good. And there's a theory that tall Morty was a Rick who used the microscope that the devil gave him from season one. And the group of Mortys in this is from a movie called lean on me I believe.
The way the new simple Rick was captured gives you an idea what a certain little Beth saw right after the birthday scene. Her father being shot by a Willy Wonker version of him to see his limp body get dragged away into a green floating something.
It's a face mask, not a COVID mask. They aren't new, they have been in use in hospitals for like 100 years. There are also many places in the world where its common courtesy to where a mask in public while sick or to avoid getting sick or to mitigate harmful effects of bad air quality. All of this long before COVID was a thing.
This episode is a good example of how you can be all the same and still be treated like you are worth nothing.
In this episode and in the 10th episode of season 1, they talked about some kind the Central Finitie Curve, remember this.
They mentioned it that early? Damn i never realised that's cool as fuck
I still haven't seen season 4 or 5, and I was all over this show when season 3 was airing, so I'm kinda excited
@@inaviatable118 it gets very interesting 😊

he predicts a lot right in general
“Is that enough off the top?”
“I don’t know, is it?”
Great line hate he didn’t add it
What's the point of that line? Is he just being intimidating? Or am am missing the joke Genuine question
@@MrNinja543 yea, like the ricks were on the top, Morty just took out some of them. He asked if they submit or not
@@gabecajamarca oh OK yea I get it now thanks lol
“Wanna see how I paint a wall” is one of the most badass lines lmaoo
Also notice the music that played at the end. That's the same music that played last time we saw Evil Morty. For the Damaged Coda, Evil Morty's theme.
The best episode of all R&M
It's easily in the top five, if not in the top three. There's only one or two that I can think of off the top of my head that were better. No, this is the second best episode.
I second that, pickle Rick is a close second place, but this is my fav
It's like three whole movies condensed into twenty minutes.
In my opinion season 5 last episode is the best
Perhaps the most gripping episode
Simple Rick's is my favorite bit in the whole series, this whole episode is amazing!
It all comes back around. What a show. Great reaction man!

I love evil Mortys theme!!!
I've always wanted to know more about the Rick that gave Morty the classified docs on Evil Morty. Like What? Why did you give them to him? Who were you working for? How did you find out that shit?
There is a theory that he indirectly worked for evil Morty leading him to be shot so that he gains popularity.
i love the episodes with evil morty, it just reminds you theres a bigger picture to this mainly comedy show.
p.s. try mushoku tensei. goated anime.
Is your uranium watch giving you cancer? The answer is yes, it's uranium
One of the best episodes of all time imo

Hey, first appearance of Mr. Nimbus.... off screen.
Lol remember that song 🎵
Bro. 1 morty was wearing a covid mask. This episode came out in 2017. Covid started in 2020.

There are also many places in the world where its common courtesy to where a mask in public while sick or to avoid getting sick or to mitigate harmful effects of bad air quality. It's just a mask.... it's not like they were invented for covid lmao
lol masking has been a thing in some parts of the world for a long time. Japan's had a culture of masking up during flu season for over 100 years.
he was joking
