I have learned so much from this one video than anything I have read in the last week! Learning how to make this kind of cookies for a Halloween party! Thank you so much!
Oh thank you so much, that makes so happy! I have a lot more on my channel as well id you need any tips with consistency or things like that! Wishing you the best of luck with your cookies 😊♥️
Stephanie, I'm so, so happy to see a video from you! I know life has been crazy for you as I saw your IG post. But PLEASE let me encourage you to keep doing cookies/videos! You bring so much joy to my life! ❤️ ❤️ I know I'm a random stranger to you, but if you only knew how your calming voice brings calm to my heart! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ However, whatever brings YOU joy.... Do that!
You are so kind and I'll be honest its comments like yours that keep me going!! I wish I could do this all day everyday because of all the nice things like this I read, and you have no idea how much joy and happiness I feel that you and so many others take the time to watch my videos and comment. It's really a whole other level to know people care so much about something I do, so thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️
I can’t say how glad and relieved I am to have your channel! I was asked to make some baby shower cookies and it was above what I normally do, so I was rather intimidated. I came on here and found you and have been learning so so much! Thank you for your precise and patient explanations. I’ve got my sugar cookies done and will start on Monday with decorating. Wish me luck! You’re so talented. Thanks for your videos. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much, I'm so happy that my videos have helped! That's the whole reason I do them so that people feel more confident in trying them. I know you'll do great. I learnt the most when I was asked to do sets out of my comfort zone! Best of luck 🥰🥰
I was going to bake sugar cookies for the first time today and was looking for easy Halloween designs...so glad this video popped up on my recommended!
Love your videos! I've been wanting to decorate cookies for 3 years...we finally did it! My husband also really enjoyed doing them. Thanks for doing these...your tutorials are fantastic! Can't post pics here and I'm not on social media...but we love how they came out!!!
SO WONDERFUL that you are BACK! I watched this video while on the lipty at the gym and I was totally absorbed! I really enjoy your tips and explanations throughout the whole video PLUS offering encouragement that every decoration doesn't have to be perfect. It makes me not afraid to try new designs! THANK YOU!!
Aww thank you so much! It feels really good to be back making videos, I really missed it! I'm glad you enjoy listening, I always wonder do people listen or do I just talk too much 😂 but I'd rather say too much than too little when explaining. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for this video. I often spend way to much money trying to get all these crazy tools (cookie cutter) to make projects. It's great to know I can still make Halloween cookies if I only have the round ones. ❤️ These are super cute.
You're so welcome! It can be a very expensive hobbie and its hard not to want the latest and greatest so I totally understand. I always try to make as many tutorials with the most basic of tools so that anyone can do it!
This video was amazing and so helpful. I have been looking for a video to help me learn cookie decorating. I went to school for patisserie and baking, but we never did cookies like this. I'm so happy I found your channel! I did some cookies yesterday and this video helped me!
Thank you, I'm so happy to hear that!! There are a lot more of tutorials like this on my channel (especially for Christmas) if you would like to try out more designs 😊
thanks for this! Planning on baking cookies for trick or treaters this year, never done any icing before but this is a nice tutorial for beginners like me!
Thank you so much for your videos! I have baked the cookies the way you do and they came out great! I am so excited to decorate! Question for you. What brushes do you use?
Thank you so much!! I just go to my local Michael's and buy brushes from there! I give them a good wash in soap and water before I use them and then make sure they are only used for cookies!
Excellent tutorial!! Thank you ‼‼. Do you use separate consistencies for flooding and outlining?? What count are your consistencies?? TIA, from Western Australia ‼
Thank you so much! My flood is a bit on the more looser side because I like for it to settle itself. I would say a 8-10 count. Towards the end of this video I show how I make my consistencies! ruclips.net/video/L5mVKZnTqac/видео.html
This was so helpful. Quick question..your scribe was always clean, do you wipe it on a wet paper towel in between uses or drop it in a glass of water or something else?
I always have a damp paper trowel or 2 beside me to wipe my scribe on. There was one point I think we flooding skull where i had a touch of black icing still on it and it made a little black spot. And normally I have damp paper towels folded in half and I put my bag tips inside there to keep them from crusting over so sometimes ill just wipe my scribe on that too, but it gets messy after a while hehe
I'm so happy you find them helpful! And yes, I always add it to my icing no matter what color it will become. I consider it an ingredient in my icing. The reason is it helps prevent color bleed
Hi Stephanie! I wanted to ask you for the measurements if I’m using egg whites because my super market doesn’t sell meringue powder! How much egg white should I use and should I scale down on anything? Love ur vids! xxx❤️👌🏼 Oh btw, wish me luck making 19 of these cookies for my classmates on our halloween party!😅
You can try your local Michael's or Hobby Lobby they usually carry meringue powder but if not here's a recipe to use with egg whites (not mine but a great recipe). And best of luck, your students will love them!! thebearfootbaker.com/2015/04/egg-white-royal-icing-recipe/
Thank you! I use 2 consistencies, a thicker for outline and thinner for flood! I find it works best for me. At the end of royal icing video I show how I make my consistency for both, here's the link ruclips.net/video/L5mVKZnTqac/видео.html
I love your icing! What consistency do you use for the icing that works for the outline and flooding? I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you!
Thank you!! I have this video on how I make my icing and at the end I show what my outline and flood look like! ruclips.net/video/L5mVKZnTqac/видео.html
Yes! I always use a thicker icing for my outline and a thinner icing for my flood! I show how I make them near the end of this video ruclips.net/video/L5mVKZnTqac/видео.html
Thank you ssoooooo much forbyoir tutorials!! I'm a newbie in making cookies and watching your videos have really helped me!! I have a question: I've decorated cookies, but I'm having a problem with the bitterness of using black (for Halloween). What do you recommend?
I'm so happy you enjoy the videos ♥️ for black icing it could depend on which brand you use and maybe because your adding too much color to it. It's hard to get darker colors without adding much but if you let it sit for a while it helps deepen the color. I have this video on making black icing, hope it helps ruclips.net/video/NXQyjwMDFfU/видео.html
I've tried adding cocoa powder and then coloring black, but I don't suggest it because it never dried properly and took days and days to dry even with a fan! It dried wrinkly also. Unfortunate because it did taste really good though.
Yes! I almost always use 2 consistencies one for outline and one for flood. I have a video that shows what they look like in the bowl, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/yeXuOiMc-E4/видео.html
I'd say its about 2.5 to 3 inches across? Its on the smaller side of the cookie cutters I normally have. It comes from the wilton box 101 cookie cutters and they have 3 sizes of circles and this one is the middle size.
Can you help please!!!???!!! My eyes always bleed.. No idea what I am doing wrong.. It is very humid here, not sure if that has anything to do with it? Any tips would be very appreciated! Thank you for all your tips and inspiration ❤❤❤❤
The best way to prevent bleeding is to put white colour in your icing icing you make it! No matter what colour it is after, make sure you add it to all! Then try drying in front of a fan too! Hope that helps 🥰
Great tutorial as always. I'm new to cookie decorating and I find that once my icing has set completely it looses its shine. Any tips to stop this happening please?
Thank you so much!! Most icing does lose some shine but adding corn syrup to your icing helps retain some shine and also gives your icing some flexibility as well as a softer bite (so its a win win win). Drying in front of a fan also helps a little too. They will never be as shiny as wet icing but less dull than before 😁
This is the recipe I use with a few tweaks. The recipe is linked below the video in the description along with the changes I like to make m.ruclips.net/video/3orMJXkKk5o/видео.html

Hi Stephanie, is that a sugar cookie or a spice cookie?
This is a sugar cookie with brown sugar (and was a touch over baked as my husband was helping me bake this batch 😂)
Hi absolutely gorgeous cookies but what kind of cookie is this that you're using
Thank you 🥰 these are sugar cookies with royal icing!
😍😍😍😍
🥰🥰🥰
Is the icing that you flood with, a different consistency to the outline ? X
Yes! I almost always use 2 consistencies one for outline and one for flood. I have a video that shows what they look like in the bowl, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/yeXuOiMc-E4/видео.html
Amazing 👍

Yes, I have 2 bags for each color, one for outline (thicker icing) and one for flooding (thinner icing)
