I LOVE THESE!! Wish that I had seen this before I did mine, would have incorporated some of these ideas in my cookies. I have learned a lot from watching your videos. This was my first foray into Halloween cookies, but I will definitely incorporate your methods and techniques in my holiday cookies!
Thank you!! You'll have to save them for next year but so happy you made some! Halloween and Christmas ones are my favorite to make cause they're so fun 🥰🥰
These are so adorable! I hope you know how great your videos are. I just love them and I aspire to be as confident as you when decorating cookies, one day!
I’m going to make Halloween cookies tomorrow with royal icing and I pray they will turn out like that and not all messy like a third grader made it it’s mostly the outline vs filling amounts from the piping bags that frighten me
You've got this! Just take your time, go slow and when outlining do some practice lines on a paper towel to make sure the hole is the right size and it's flowing nicely!@@
I will be purchasing the icing bags you've recommended. How much of the tip do you clip off for flooding and for outlining; are the openings cut the same size?
Thank you! I usually cut a bit off and then test a few lines on a piece of paper towel and then if I think its too thin I'll cut it a touch bigger and test again. My bads are probably slight all different size holes but you can't really tell! Always start small as you can go bigger if you go too big you'll have to re bag you icing!
Love the purple bat. I think the black pumpkin scares the orange pumpkin!😂 Still think it would try to bite my fingers. LOL!😅 These cookies are so cute. That cookie ya used to do the ghost, looks like ya could do a witch hat also. Happy Fall yall!🍁
I jumped in the deep end. 😅 Making your Halloween cookies with Royal icing for the first time. I watched a lot of your videos to prepare. Lol Now that I started, I have a question. Typically, how long do you let them dry before starting the next layer of detail?
Yay! So proud of you 🥰 that's the only way to learn! It takes an hour or more but you can speed up the process by using a fan to blow on your cookies gently or a dehydrator on very low heat. Then it only takes about 30 minutes or so!
@@LittleCookieCo Thank you! Huge learning curve but the family loves them. I made 60 cookies! Lol I’m getting some great practice before Christmas. Thank you for sharing your talents. 🤗
Oh wow, 60 is a lot!! I'm sure your family just loved them!! Make sure to take pictures of all your work, you'll look back one day and be amazed how far you've come!
I usually bake mine on a Sunday or Monday and decorate throughout the week to be eaten on a Saturday. If you need to do them more in advance, I'd suggest freezing them, they taste just as amazing and stay super fresh!
@@LittleCookieCo thanks so much! I loved your Halloween tutorials so I'll be making them for a party. I'm new to icing cookies but I'll be using all your recipes for this.
You're welcome! Just know if you're freezing decorated cookies, when you go to thaw them, keep them in the containers until fully thawed so that the icing won't bleed from condensation. You can always bake and freeze too and then decorate later!! Best of luck, I'm sure everyone will love them!
I do that to prevent craters! It helps support the icing so it doesn't cave in on itself when it dries. Craters happen in small or narrow areas so this is when I do it!
@@LittleCookieCo Is this something you suggest to do when doing something like the snowflake cookie you do? (Thank you for replying so quickly. I bought cookie decoration stuff a year ago but all the instructional stuff I found was so intimidating. You made me interested again and have put it on a level that is plain English. Thank you so much)
For a snowflakes for example, it would depend. Sometimes if i outline the whole shape I won't need to do squiggles but if a part of that shape is super narrow or small then I would. After a while you kind of know what might crater or worst case, if im unsure I'll do it, just to be on the safe side. So the tips of the snowflakes are kinda small I may just do the squiggles in those areas! And don't be scares to try and make mistakes. 99% of the time, we only notice them and no one else, everyone will just see amazing cookies!
Your cookie decorating is so, relaxing to watch.
Thank you so much 🥰
I absolutely love the ghost and mummy decoration!

Thank you so much for ❤️ it's taken a lot of practice!
