Love this technique for the base coat! My mom had a stroke and can no longer use her right hand BUT she can paint simple watercolors with her left hand. So now I can give her a project with me and she can paint on the base coat and I can complete the design on top - very exciting! I can even see involving kids with painting the base coat on the cookie. Do you make you icing and all the colors and consistencies the same day you decorate the cookies? Getting the icing right takes me a lot of time since I am just a beginner. Wondering if I can make this into a two day project? Thanks again for all the terrific ideas on a simple round cookie base!
I'm so glad I did the video this way because I'm sure she would love to be a part of the decorating process!! I have small kids and they love to help but its not very easy for them to pipe anything but mounds of icing, so this is a great way to have them involved! I normally make the icing the same day (but mostly always bake on a different day). But you can definitely pre make the icing and colors, bag them and then just throw them into the fridge overnight! Take them out about 20 minutes before you need them, massage them a bit and you'll be ready to go. Colouring and thinning down icing takes a long time, it always takes me an hour or 2 to do!
Thank you so much for all of your videos. I am just starting to make cookies and decorating them to add to my baking business and they have helped me so much. I don’t think there is one question I have had that I haven’t been able to find on your channel. So again thank you so much, you are a true blessing of help even on stuff I never thought of! 😃
Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad I'm able to answer your questions, that's always been my goal with my videos so I'm glad it's working 🥰🥰 and I think it's amazing to be able to offer cakes and cookies, way to go!!!
Excellent videos. I'm really interested in your color palettes. If you could include this, that would be great. I think you have some of the prettiest color palettes. I watched the video on adding the ecru color, and that was very cool. But always, what colors are you using? How often do you blend 2 colors? etc.
The colour palette for these should be in the description of the video. I usually use Americolor or Chefmaster gel colours. I try to include them in my videos but sometimes I use leftover icing or mix some together so I don't remember exactly what I used. I do have a few tricks on how to get more colours out of the basic ones here ruclips.net/video/hwUfmdgU3hc/видео.html
Thank you so much!! I try to post as much as possible but sometimes I forget or forget what I used as it's a while between filming and posting, but glad I had the colours for this one 😁
Fantastic video! Very informative; you explain very well (instead of rushing through it). The only problem is... that's waaaaay too much work (for me anyway). The way I ice cookies is to give each child a stack of cookies and a small (1 cup size) bowl with a couple of different colored icings spooned into it. They dip the cookies in the icing and enjoy. The grandkids claim I make the best cookies ever. Oddly... I will spend hours cooking; making gravy, biscuits and stuffing from scratch. I hand cut french fries. I make my own pizza sauce and dough. No problem. But when it comes to baking... it is minimal effort for me. That's probably because very few things turn out well when I bake. Oh well!
They do take a really long time, but it's therapeutic and I get in the zone and can decorate for hours! It's all the prep work that I hate doing. I used to not mind cooking, but now I'd rather bake than cook 🤣 and that's a great idea for the kids, I'm sure they just love doing that!
All I have to say is just go for it! The only thing you want to have is a few days or nights where you have some free time to make them, as its not usually something you can bake and decorate in 1 day. But its really fun, I promise! My first sets of cookies were not very good, but I had a lot of fun making them and everyone thought they were great (cause who doesn't love free cookies!). So I hope you do give it a try!
I tried the spider cookie and it came out soooooo cute. I froze them for a week pulled them out of the freezer to wrap and noticed that some of my spiders had gotten crushed. UGH and then as they where coming to room temp I noticed that they where looking a little moist. Should I have wrapped them before freezing? Thanks
Oh no! Sorry they got crushed! When you freeze cookies, its best not to open the container or freezer bag until they're fully defrosted. If you open them while they're still cold or frozen they develop condensation and moisture. So I always take them out as early as possible so they have enoigh time to defrost!
Love you channel. I have a request, I would love to see tutorials on both birthday cookies and wedding cookies please :) if you have time. I know it takes a lot to create and upload.
Thank you!! And yes!! Wedding cookies are definitely on the list (but it might be in the new year after Christmas) And birthday cookies as well I would love to do!

Love the brushing technique. Also using the scribe to make the tiny pupils is a great idea. Thank you.
Your very welcome!!

Lovely! Simple and super cute
Thank you so much 🥰
They look so good ! Very talented too.🤗🥀
Thank you so much 🤗
You make it look so easy 😊 if I understand correctly, you use two icings, one for outlines, the other for filling shapes ?
Thank you! And correct, they are the same icing but one is just thicker and the other had a bit more water added to make it thinner!

Super cute cookies👍💕
Thank you so much!
Which brush brand do you use?
I just buy any brushes from Michael's or the craft or cake store. I give them a good wash with soap and water and then just keep them for cookies only

Why do my cookies break after a few days
It could be the cookie recipe your using? Maybe they ate too soft?
EYE'S EYE'S EYE'S see YOU!! 👀👁️👁️👀😜 LOL!💜
