Yess!!!👏🏽 She was so enthusiastic about it. It seems like she actually cared, sometimes in these kinds of videos the store employee doesn't even wanna be there lol
Morgan! That’s exactly what I thought. They seem super interested in what they do & sell there. It’s cool because they got some exposure for their store out of this vid too.

Most people don’t understand how important clothes are for a person’s personal image. So when Freddy said I feel like an important woman in this purple dress, this is exactly the purpose of this dress : power dressing. Some people don’t pay attention to how they dress and if they are satisfied which this way of living, so be it. But clothes can reveal a persons confidence more than any therapists sessions. And I also truly believe that caring about the way you dress isn’t about being superficial, on the contrary, it’s about developing your self esteem and sides of your personality you never knew existed.
Kristen: rich woman who drinks champagne on the balcony Devin: actual 1920s woman Freddy: everyone's favorite historical figure, posing for a Time cover Chantel: model who might dabbel in voodoo Jen: looking Sharp™ enough to cut someone
Okay THANK YOU for this. Last year we cleaned out my grans closet when she passed away. She was never content with living a standard working class life so she worked several jobs to be able to live large when she had days off. She had GORGEOUS clothes and jewelry. Had things sown for her. Went on charter trips when they were a luxury. Just really lived life. And so much of what she had I just put in bags to give away since, while gorgeous, it wasn't my style. Things happened so they never got sent and are still bagged. I am taking a second look after watching this and realising what I can do with these clothes. I especially NEED to find the wine red velvet elbow-long-sleeve short shirt rimmed with feathers.
I’m so glad Kristin was able to have a positive experience vintage shopping, because I’ve been in the same boat. When I was in New York on a school trip one of the girls got the rest of us to go to a vintage shop. Only think I could find which would work for me was a purse, and the staff wasn’t willing to help. I ended up breaking down in the store (it had been an emotional weekend as is).
That flapper outfit of Devin's. OMFG. Fantastic. The negligee ensemble on Kristin, the purple sparkly dress on Freddie, the Disney villain outfit on Chantel. And Jen made the right purchase! And the Mardi Gras fashion. I lived in Louisiana for five years and Mardi Gras was my favorite thing.
I typically resonate with someone different each episode and this was no different. I appreciate how raw Kristen is with her concerns while keeping a positive (& realistic) mind set. I’m so glad she was surprised by the vintage shop. Being a girl 3-4 sizes larger than most my friends I could guess I would have had some anxiety going into this situation. Thanks again Kristen for putting yourself out there! You’re beautiful!
Vintage bodies weren’t just “different” just because. People tended to be thinner because more foods were natural, there were less trans fats, and most people couldn’t afford to eat more that what they needed. Because of WW2 and the Great Depression, food became very expensive for a while. People also were usually more fit because less things were automated. There was a lot more manual labour, and people walked to their destinations more often. Depending on the decade, less people had cars.
