Great overview - thanks for putting together this insightful summary. With a Cebu base I'm hoping to check out some of these places this winter. It's a very tough decision - so many options - and we haven't even mentioned Palawan, Bohol, Siargao, Bantayan etc. So far I'm leaning towards Cebu or Dumaguete but keeping options open pending more exploration.

Dogs barking, roosters crowing, neighbours shouting at each other in the early morning.. Add in the trying to start an old diesel engined car on a cold morning and the taxi driving neighbour coming home at 3am and setting off his burglar alarm and it's pretty much like life here where I live in the north of England..

Other sources of noise you overlooked: loud videoke machines in people's homes (unless the power is out).....along with singing fuel by the consumption of Red Horse or a homemade batch of Tuba! Just as those activities are wrapping up, the roosters are out back clearing their throats in preparation for your wake up call. And if you're in the city, frequent use of a vehicles' horn is a time-honored tradition in that part of the world.

Not true. I set my life up quite nicely to live in Durant Oklahoma on $600/month before annual expenses. Annual expenses are under $1000 including vehicle insurance, taxes, and post office box. People have learned how to forget the ways of life that can provide for you without financial burdens. My situation is extremely well thought out. Having saved up my reward points from my job, I'll spend $14 to purchase 70 pounds of beef lifter and 40 pounds of chicken thighs. Thankfully, I have the solar power needed to keep it all frozen until it's needed. I really am proud of the knowledge and wisdom that I have acquired over the decades of learning. Failure is a result of being mentally lazy. What I've accomplished is possible for anyone with satisfactory health and willingness to work a full time job for a couple years. Of course, I'll keep working until I can buy a large piece of land with 1.5 km of travel to the nearest hard road on a quiet island.

Check out Anda beach in Bohol if you want to swim. It has a white sandy bottom out into the ocean. Most other beaches like Moalboal etc. are rocky reefs once you get out into the water, or else it's rocky or muddy or only ankle deep. Alona Beach in Panglao is good but there's a hundred boats parked there even in the swimming area.

    Hi Rubi,
While this video is just a dry listing of some statistics, done with your singing voice and beautiful smile it is still very pleasant to watch. And you now experiment with 2 different camera angles, again a new editorial upgrade for your channel, I love that you keep on improving your skill level and it shows us that you are gorgeous from any angle 🙂
If I am going to move half a world away I don't know if I am going to make my decisions based on where a Starbucks coffee shop is located, but it is good to know that Manilla offers convenient transportation by Skateboards because I don't know if I'll still be able to drive a car once I hit my 80's!
Rubi, I know that you just moved and am probably still unpacking but is the neon light "hello" sign going to return soon in your videos? The light bars and twinkle lights are cool (mine are not spread out on my sofa) but I really like the "hello" light.
World Cup soccer has now started and I'll be spending a lot of time watching the games in addition to working hard but I will still make the time to watch your videos so keep them coming.

Hello, me and my wife have our own home and land in Albuera Leyte, it is an off beat place that is very nice place to live. Of course it has its difficulties but we are close to Ormoc city qnd Baybay city. So getting all the things we need is pretty easily. Now there is still a few difficulties but it is worth it for the place of not so much crime. We feel very safe in our home town of Albuera Leyte. It don't matter where you live in the world, as long as we are comfortable and feel safe in our home area, that's what is good for us. Albuera is a up coming little town and we love it there for the most. I would love to go and visit other parts of the Philippines and we are open to possibly even relocating to one of the other island's. Also the living expenses in Albuera is much more affordable than the places you have mentioned. We live just below the base of a mountain but still close to the town, market, stores, the seaside and the main highway.

Don’t be dreamers - but if you can stay in any places in the Philippines. One month visa extension ~ $ 65 , health insurance about $ 135 and you have to pay for doctors visits and medication. In my opinion ~ $ 2.000 for month is required. Rental properties are limited and hotel /cold water shower/ can be cheaper. Better go wherever you want and find out what about is the life, standard service, transportation. Reality are much different than the picture and the beaches.
Thailand or Malaysia are much better developed in every aspect but go go to Philippine and find out. Good Luck 🍀

I retired to Nuvali area in a nice community. It is so clean and quiet. There is no roosters, barking dogs or traffic. A big green space and at night its like a cemetery. 😂

Planning to retire there in 2-3 years I came back from a vacation with my fiancée and daughter mainly looking for a place to settle down we visited baguio and tagaytay which were both really nice but getting up and down from the mountain in baguio was a little to much.. next year we plan to travel to dumagete and Valencia possibly stopping by a couple towns in between. I prefer a little cooler climate being from Michigan, USA anyway I d like to thank you so much for your time and effort on making this video this is my first time posting but long time subscriber keep up the good work sweetheart

Great information, impressive what options there are. As you also see, it is impossible to check all the criterias at one location. The cool climate for instance is only in Baguio and to some lower extent in Tagaytay, both are not at the beach. So you must forget about either cool climate or beachfront.
However, in my opinion the task, "find the best location to retire full time and permanently" might not be the real life. For tax reason you might want to make a combination of two places in different countries in order not to exceed 180 days. This would lead to a combination which makes the best places different. For instance you could choose Kuala Lumpur as the urbanised and a cool beachfront place in the Philippines (believe me, they do exist, but of course they are far in the dschungle).
Such a combination gives plenty of better options than just one place plus minimizes a lot of risks (this you should have learned from COVID).
About the urban invironments in the Philippines you must know that the natural risks are out of control and this on all towns mentioned in this video. There is about a 50% treath that non of these towns survive the next 100 years. So my advice is do concentrate on safe province areas only, which were not mentioned in this video.

Facilities are good but I don't think you can beat quiet country life! I was brought up in a small town so city life would drive me crazy I think. We have many expensive city centre apartments in Manchester near me with great facilities but I couldn't be so crowded! Tagaytay sounds wonderful. Thank you lovely Rubeauti! ❤😘
