Johnette here: I am so thrilled you are doing a video on this project! I have always wanted to make one of these but could not understand the directions when Kate would make a video explaining the technique. Don’t ask me why…I have no idea…just could not understand. Believe me I know how to bead weave with seed beads. I have been a beader for over 40 years and the more complicated and detailed the more I want to do the project. So, when I first saw these machines it was right up my alley…until I tried to follow the directions…don’t know where my brain went but now that you are doing this project I am pretty sure it is back. Thank you for taking this on. I have made so many of your projects and received a bazillion compliments. You sure made my day! Kindest regards

I would consider myself a medium-level beader but with your fabulous teaching ability, you have helped me push to higher levels. I am doing this kaleidocycle project just for the sheer fun of learning something new. And it is FUN! So thank you for your very detailed and excellent direction and teaching method.

Thank you for these excellent instructions. I attempted my first kaleidocycle a few weeks ago. After constructing all the triangles, I was unable to decipher the instructions for assembling the machine! Totally different from your shared technique. I finally ditched the instructions and wrangled it together myself. I thought I was one and done with Kaleidocycles, but now I have already started my second and I’m sure we’ll do more!

Had to put my big girl pants on too!!!. I don't like repetition either. You shamed me into this! (I'm glad you did though!) I came up with a few extra steps to help me through this intricate design, as i tend to lose my place easily. I wrote the row numbers on a separate sheet of paper and checked each row as I completed it. Secondly, I placed a piece of paper under the row I was working on since I was using my cell phone. Then i separated each row into three sections, one for each side of the triangle. I then placed the beads needed for the side row on the bead mat in front of me. I then stitched the first side and repeated the process for the next two sides. I also laid my beads horizontally on the bead mat, a, b, and c on the first row and d, e and f on the second row. I've completed one triangle successfully so far and expect the rest should get easier with practice.
Does anyone have any different methods of dealing with "frequent loss of place"?

Since moving Nov 2021, life's inconveniences have kept me from my beading. I can hardly wait to make 1 of these amazing gizmos. All I can think of that they are good for is in place of a spinner as a fidget toy. Please, anyone, tell me what they are for if not for fidgeting. I can hardly wait to make 1to carry in my purse for when I know I'll have to wait in line or the like. Thanks for this entire series.
