Johnette here: I am so thrilled you are doing a video on this project! I have always wanted to make one of these but could not understand the directions when Kate would make a video explaining the technique. Don’t ask me why…I have no idea…just could not understand. Believe me I know how to bead weave with seed beads. I have been a beader for over 40 years and the more complicated and detailed the more I want to do the project. So, when I first saw these machines it was right up my alley…until I tried to follow the directions…don’t know where my brain went but now that you are doing this project I am pretty sure it is back. Thank you for taking this on. I have made so many of your projects and received a bazillion compliments. You sure made my day! Kindest regards
Kelly, you continue to challenge me with the coolest bead projects. I would consider myself a medium-level beader but with your fabulous teaching ability, you have helped me push to higher levels. I am doing this kaleidocycle project just for the sheer fun of learning something new. And it is FUN! So thank you for your very detailed and excellent direction and teaching method.
Thank you for showing this side of yourself, one I totally relate to. I never thought I’d attempt a Kaleidocycle but here I go! You are my inspiration!
I am so thrilled you are teaching this Kaleidocycle project. Your videos are so understandable and so easy to follow. Thank you Ms. Kelly Dale for all your hard work. thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and talent to all of us. God Bless.
Oh my gosh Kelly…With you showing us how to do a Kaleidocycle in this tutorial I think I can probably do it! You are such a great teacher. I’ve never wanted to make a component (bead project) like this as it looked so HARD and CONFUSING, but now I’m excited to bead along with you. Thank you for finally saying YES! 😂❤👏🤟🏼
Wow, your explanation clarified so much. Thank you. I got distracted coloring in the free charts Kate provides but maybe I can get back to actually beading triangles again. Which leads me to say this: you designers are the bomb! Coming up with a pattern is a heck of a lot of work.
I am so excited you are walking us through how to make a kaleidocycle. I have wanted to try one but knew I’d never figure it out on my own. With your excellent help I’m going to do it. Super excited!
Your beadwork is amazingly stunning & you inspire so many people to start a beading journey or get to be better beaders. You're just a total beady superstar x
Very good instructions. I looked at this pattern before when you had Kate on your channel and decided I couldn't figure out the instructions. Now they all make sense. First swirl done, 5 to go. Thanks a huge bunch!
Thank you for these excellent instructions. I attempted my first kaleidocycle a few weeks ago. After constructing all the triangles, I was unable to decipher the instructions for assembling the machine! Totally different from your shared technique. I finally ditched the instructions and wrangled it together myself. I thought I was one and done with Kaleidocycles, but now I have already started my second and I’m sure we’ll do more!
I'm with you...I never said never, but I'm like you, I don't like doing the same thing over and over. I will do this and finish it! I will! Thank you for pushing me past my usual boundaries all the time!
So happy you are teaching this to us. I e already made four of the first six triangles. Can’t wait until your next video. Thank you for taking us along on this journey with you!!!❤
Thank you so much for this. I have one of Kate McKinnon's books but could never follow the instructions. You have made it so easy. Please, please continue with this project -- and maybe more geometric projects in the future.
I am so hoping this will help my confusion with the stars. I started one last year and may start over again as I gave up trying to connect the first two pieces. Something in this series may help clear up the confusion. Thank you, Kelly and Kate, this is a special treat!
Wow Kelly, I’ve been searching for months for a video on how to make these! Thank you for your amazing videos & your incredibly wonderful teaching style!
Had to put my big girl pants on too!!!. I don't like repetition either. You shamed me into this! (I'm glad you did though!) I came up with a few extra steps to help me through this intricate design, as i tend to lose my place easily. I wrote the row numbers on a separate sheet of paper and checked each row as I completed it. Secondly, I placed a piece of paper under the row I was working on since I was using my cell phone. Then i separated each row into three sections, one for each side of the triangle. I then placed the beads needed for the side row on the bead mat in front of me. I then stitched the first side and repeated the process for the next two sides. I also laid my beads horizontally on the bead mat, a, b, and c on the first row and d, e and f on the second row. I've completed one triangle successfully so far and expect the rest should get easier with practice. Does anyone have any different methods of dealing with "frequent loss of place"?
Oh Kelly! I'm so excited to have found this tutorial. I can hardly wait to do this with you. I just need to get unpacked and get my studio office settled finally. Since moving Nov 2021, life's inconveniences have kept me from my beading. I can hardly wait to make 1 of these amazing gizmos. All I can think of that they are good for is in place of a spinner as a fidget toy. Please, anyone, tell me what they are for if not for fidgeting. I can hardly wait to make 1to carry in my purse for when I know I'll have to wait in line or the like. Thanks for this entire series.
Bonjour Merci beaucoup pour vos vidéos sur le kaleidoscope. Merci aussi pour les liens avec les diagrammes. Grâce à vous je vais pouvoir me lancer!! Stéphanie de France
I applaud you Kelly. Your video explained the pattern perfectly. I am so proud of you taking on this challenge and I am going to bead a long with you. I don't have any of the colors listed on the pattern, so I am going to create my own bead colors from A to F. I can't wait to see your completed triangles. Will you be showing us how to put all the triangles together instead of just two? Great job on your triangles and the video!👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤ I look forward to taking this journey with you!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. You made each step so clear 😊! I’m also going to tryyyy to finish this project 😂. I absolutely love your bead easy station. I live in Scotland and can’t find one anywhere or websites that send to the Uk. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for alternatives 🥰
The Bead Easy is only made by Glenda at Beads Gone Wild. If you will contact her through her website and ask, she may be willing to ship for an additional cost. The link to her website is in the description box of the video
I think I actually want to try this! Could you possibly talk about bead quantities for the whole project? I might have to order and would like to only stalk the mail guy one time.
Hi Kelly! Does it matter which sides are zipped for the three sets of two that we are making? I assume as long as they are done consistently the same it’ll turn out ok. And thanks for teaching us how! I’m sewing along with y’all!
Hi Kelly 😊 First of all I love your tutorials! I have a question... I also made a triangle but the middle comes up a bit. Is this normal or should the triangle be flat? Thank you ❤ Greetings from Belgium
How do you know which sides of the triangles to put together? Does it really matter as long as they're mirror images of each other? I'm curious since I'm making my own patterns but following your bead along to put it together. Thanks! ❤
I have always wanted to do a geometric pattern but I could not figure out what it was saying and it seemed overwhelming. You made it seem so easy and simple. I am excited to do this with you. I will be ordering my supplies so I can start. I think you said you need 3 pairs so that’s 6 total correct? Thanks so much
Ok, question, how many grams of each color do you need? I have loads of delicas that need to be used up, but don't wanna run out of a specific color. Thank you. ❤
I have a question for Kelly please. I’m going to order beads from you to make this. Are the colors listed today the only colors we will use? And how much of each color? Also, I don’t see the 15/0 clear seed beads on your website to purchase. Will you be getting them in? Thank you!
Hi Elizabeth. We will be using different colors for each of the four triangles. But, feel free to use the same colors of the first triangle if you wish. I can’t tell you the colors of the other three triangle because I honestly don’t know yet. I’m testing them each week so I won’t know until the Friday before each Monday video: The 15/0s will be listed on the website later today.
Thank you Kelly. I was just doing another kaleidocycle patterers and wanted to do the attachment like you will show us the next segment. It tow has the 24 triangles. So I will continue while awaiting your final attachment video.
I don't have a lot of DB's since they are a bit expensive sometimes. can I still make it with normal miyuki rocailles? (I know it would probably be a bit more wonky, but is it still possible?)

Yes placing matters! You want to connect the sides I showed in the video so that you get the correct pattern
Great instructions! What is the number for the turquoise bead you are using?
Hi Kelly 😊 First of all I love your tutorials! I have a question... I also made a triangle but the middle comes up a bit. Is this normal or should the triangle be flat? Thank you ❤ Greetings from Belgium
It’s ok if it domes a little. It it’s super domed then you need to slack up on your tension
How do you know which sides of the triangles to put together? Does it really matter as long as they're mirror images of each other? I'm curious since I'm making my own patterns but following your bead along to put it together. Thanks! ❤
It matters for the patterns themselves. They will have two different ways they look so they have to go together for a cohesive look.
I have always wanted to do a geometric pattern but I could not figure out what it was saying and it seemed overwhelming. You made it seem so easy and simple. I am excited to do this with you. Yes. 6 Total triangles this week. Go ahead and put them together as shown in the video. Next week's will be put together differently

If you look at the part 1 pattern it tells you how many grams for the part 1 triangle
Should the finished pairs be floppy or stiff? Mine are kind of floppy and I'm thinking they might not work when connected. Thanks!
They need to have a pretty good tension. You don’t want them to be super floppy.
Are there any issues using size 8 seed beads for this?
is it necessary to use delicas? I have a ton of Rocaille but no delicas.
Yes
How many triangles do I make with this first design please. Thank you
6

I HAVE A QUESTION is this method of putting the cycle together a new way so you do not have to do the Jelly fish way? Thank you all for your replies.
The way I will be teaching it is the "fool proof" connection way. This is a new technique that will be in Kate McKinnons upcoming Volume 3 book.
Thank you Kelly. I was just doing another kaleidocycle patterers and wanted to do the attachment like you will show us the next segment. It tow has the 24 triangles. So I will continue while awaiting your final attachment video.
