I just love thrifted and vintage items.... things you would never find in a modern store. I have found some of the most unique gifts that were very thoughtfully found refurbished for my daughter in-laws and sisters....sadly some of them were offended🥺 I’ve decided I need to find more friends who appreciate quality items and a lot of thought that I put into it. I love those kind of gifts when I get them🤗thank you so much for the great ideas!
Don't you just love grateful people? Sarcasm, lol. I would love to receive something thrifted with all that thought behind it. And like the other comment said, it isn't that cheap anymore because the thrift stores upped their prices so much.
I was raised on thrifted gifts and have continued to do the same as an adult. When we were children, my mom would wrap the thrifted gifts in newspaper or comics (she would choose a page that had an ad, article headline or comic character that was related to the gift inside - I can't imagine how much time she spent going into that degree of detail.) I remember them as my favorite gifts, many of which I still own. Thrifted gifts show a level of thought that store bought ones don't quite achieve as it takes time and attention (and a bit of luck) throughout the year to find things that remind you of the receiver. I feel very honored when I get a thrifted gift and love hearing the story behind it - there always is a story! Thanks for another great video.
I love that you don’t feel you have to buy something new to give as a gift. You certainly put a lot of thought and love into each gift and that’s what counts.
I love thrifting items. My husband sometimes thinks it's wrong, lol. I think there is more thought and preparation when you think about them throughout the year. I never tell anyone they're thrifted. To me I see no difference than finding something in a "vintage or antique store". I love cute, vintage tea cups with new candles poured into them and little succulents. So many ideas. I did handmade large, layered scrapbook, vintage images made into an ornament and asked the receiver to write a memory from this year and place on the tree every year. I would love to see more of these videos and handmade.
My husband is getting a vintage decanter that I found thrifting. Also a book, that I know he’ll love, that I hadn’t seen in decades. These will most likely be his favorite gifts!
I’m a seasoned thrifter. My kids grew up on thrifted gifts and loved it. My extended family expects thrifted gifts from me and my adult sons and they love it. It is a fun treasure hunt and it can be so personal!
I have been giving thrifted gifts to my family and friends for years! I keep a lookout all year long and store my finds in a box for Christmas and birthdays. Many of my thrifted finds are actually brand new either in the original packaging or with the price tags still attached! And since I gather gifts throughout the year, an added bonus is that I don’t have a huge monetary outlay in December!! Hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas!
Experience at Michaels purchasing a small frame cost me nearly $50! The frame wasn't about a half an inch. I was misled to begin with! The store was in Alexandria Louisiana. I will never be guilty of doing that again! Having a small print framed!
I love gifting like this.... I try to make little gifts for each person and make them personal to that person.... simple little things to say I was thinking of you when I made this.... great gifts...
Yeah for giftable thrifted finds - what an inspiring video! Everything is so thoughtful and beautifully presented! Way more meaningful than spending a boatload of money! Love this! Thank you Sarah! It's funny - my son called from college yesterday to thank me for teaching him how to wrap gifts beautifully - his roomie needed a hand with a gift for his special girl ... had no idea how to wrap a present!
Love your videos. My favorite are your thrift videos. Not only do you show us what you found, but you show how you used them or styled them and I LOVE that. Great Christmas gift ideas. I have been saying for years that I want to do handmade or DIY gifts for family and friends. You’ve really inspired me.
I’ve always did thrift as gifts for my sons and husband. This year we added my parents, my brothers family snd friends to our thriftmas giving. We found we could give more and better gifts this way! Your taste and gifting is so similar to mine! What Christmas is about keep it simple and celebrate the real meaning of Christmas! Very inspiring!
Sarah, I have just loved this series all the year long! Thank you for putting these together every month. As a thrifter/antiquer these videos have given me ideas & inspiration for my home as well as gifts for others. Merry Christmas!
I love to thrift and garage sale for Christmas gifts but you're right: the specific lists are definitely more difficult. Still, it's so much fun. When my kids were little, I shopped year-round and stashed away in storage boxes marked something else so they didn't go snooping! LOL
Love your ideas! I do that as well and it makes me feel better to know someone else does it too! You are a very thoughtful person and I am enjoying your videos
Thrifted, meaningful, custom gifts are the best!! I shop year round, too, and am amazed at what I find. Thank you for sharing your thrifted, wrapped gifts. I have items I can use for the name tags. Smiles...
goodness I love your thrift ideas videos.... You're my absolute fav... could watch these ideas every day! hint, hint! lol. Merry Christmas to you and your precious family! And may you see God at work in exciting ways in the year ahead.!
I thrift for glass cookware to make baked gifts for my girls. This year I am doing quick breads and casseroles so have found glass loaf pans and casserole dishes to make them in. Two gifts in one🙂.
My favorite was the bell wreath and I may make one. I found a bell wreath shaped in a Star 🌟 at a thrift store and the label said Crate and Barrel, it was silver and I love it .🎄🦌☃️ PS --I use stickers on cards, gift tags and to embellish plain gift bags, yours are beautiful.
I’ve never thrifted Christmas gifts but this year I’m making goodies to eat to give and these videos have inspired me so I went to dollar tree and got some containers small berry jams etc so I plan on regifting many of my own antique baskets and I have so many little things to put in them and I’m also making cinnamon ornaments with my granddaughter and putting them on the baskets
I save tags from clothing and things. Sometimes they are made from really nice paper. Then I alter them gluing on pretty paper, washi tape, etc. to make gift tags.
Sarah! Put me on your Christmas list! The gifts are fabulous! I especially love the habitat box for the kids! I think I will put one together with my grandkids! 💝💝💝💝
I absolutely loved this video! This is right up my alley - thrifting, your style, what you get. I always love what you find and would buy it too! Thank you!!
We do Thrifted gifts for our Christmas presents.🎄🥰 I am pretty much finished up with my presents.🎄✨Our budget is $10, and it’s amazing how much you can find in that price range. 🎁
Love all these ideas! I have two grandsons, 4 and 2, who have lots of little animals, so I am thinking of creating your habitat box! Thanks for these tips and ideas!
My daughter got her real estate license and joined an upscale team when she was only 18, so that Christmas I thrifted her an Emily post business etiquette book and she greatly appreciated it. She loves baking so I also grabbed her a vintage Wilson cookie press kit which she also loved. My 9 year old daughter was obsessed with a Hansel and Gretel pop up book we saw at Old Sturbridge Village but it was about $36 new. I found a thrift version online in excellent shape for about $6 shipped!
The habitat is a fantastic idea!

Your friends just didn't 'get it'! It's the thought that counts! Thrifting isn't even that cheap anymore cuz of all the resellers! 🤩

Dawn I totally agree with you!!! Homemade is always the best.

Thank you, Brenda!

I love upcycled thrifted items and gifts, that’s so fun to me! My favorite kind of video!!!!
I think these are such thoughtful gifts and such a nice quality.
Thank you!
You could even include a seed pack for your friend! What such a thoughtful snd personal gift! The bell rattle is unique!
Love your videos but I honestly think I’d sit and listen to you talk about anything. Your voice is so soothing.
That's so sweet, Alycia! :)
I enjoy all of your videos with thrifted finds, but especially the ones for gift giving. Proof that thoughtful, lovely gifts need not cost a fortune!

Hours upon hours of the best kind of fun!

I'm so glad, Liz!
Remember when baker's twine was a wee bit spendy??? Dollar Tree has LARGE spools right now... Red and green. Craft section. 🎄🍃😉🎄🍃❤️
Thanks for sharing!!

I hope my sister in law loves it, too!
Really lovely and thoughtful ideas. Thank you.

Really good ideas! Thank you!
BTW, I love how you change the music in your intro with each video!
Nothing like some fun Christmas carols to set the mood for gifting!
Great ideas!!! With play set maybe drill a few hole in the wood rings or around the edge of the pond so the foliage could stand easy.😊💗😊
Thanks for the tip!
Really liked how you paired things together. Well done!
I love your thrifted posts-seasonal decor, gifts, etc. Very inspiring.
Thank you, Lynn!
Great ideas and gifts!!!! 🎄
As a teacher I must say I’m stealing the animal habitat idea for one of my classroom centers ❤️
I bet your students will LOVE it!
On the silver frame you can use steel wool to lightly rub with the grain of the metal and it will erase the digs.
The child’s mother is going to love you for that bell wreath!😅😂🤣 She may even insist that she enjoy it at your house!😅😂🤣
I think you might be right!
The habitat box is a great idea!

I have that rolling pin and I love it. It's perfect for shortbread cookies Just make sure not to soak it in water. It needs to be dry brushed off.
Great tip!
