It was great to be with you in your kitchen. You work so hard and do so many good things…you deserve the new canner. ❤ I really enjoy your company. You always make me laugh when you say “Schmutz”😂
Renae, I love how real you are. Some days it goes smoothly in the kitchen and other days you just have to work through the mess.
Some days are just a lesson in patience. You handled it with grace and ease. Enjoy your new canner, you earned it!
The pigs in a blanket turned out beautiful! The grandkids are precious. Thank you for showing us real life struggles! Love ya from SC! 🌷
Your lil grandson has the same casual walk as gramps does. He must spend lots of fun times with gramps
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO THANK YOU ♥️♥️
Patricia (Daniel)
A day you make it through is never a flop.
I too love learning as I age. I am almost 75 and loved to learn new skills. I cannot wait tO make the dough your making and I have never canned but I certainly am up to doing it. Till next time Renae take care hugs Betty 🥰🙏
I absolutely love watching you. You remind me of a mix of my mom and aunt. Both are gone 😢 but watching you brings me good memories. You are truly amazing.
Renee, you are a blessing to us all! I enjoy your videos because you are down to earth and teach so much in the kitchen, even for this almost 72 year old! Love from Canada ❤❤
Hi There, I love the patience you have when something just don't work out right. Your attitude and beautiful personality is so refreshing. I could learn a lot from you cause i would have said some words that a Sailor wouldn't have thought of! lmbo!! God Bless you Renae and Family.
You are priceless!🤗 I have learned so much from you. I am 72 and a retired teacher. When I was much younger I didn’t have the good sense to learn skills like canning from my grandmother. I am from Louisiana and I have always wanted to learn safe canning. These days with the economy we have now, it’s necessary. I live alone and there have been many times canning food would have been beneficial. Thank you for sharing. You are so right, never believe everything on the World Wide Web. I always tried to teach children how to be safe. By the grace of God, I am healthy for my age so canning I can do.❤️ Keep teaching us! Some of us need it.
I am the same , I am 64 recently and recently widowed. My daughter lives with me but with her work and social schedule she is not here all the time for meals and she does not eat any kind of dried bean. so cooking some just for me is a waste of food and energy so canning cooking a lot once then canning will work so well for me so I can have homemade beans for a meal.

Renea- when I was young and could cook, I never had any luxuries in the kitchen. At my age now, I think of it like say the man of the house worked on the vehicles: he needs tools for that! Women need tools for the kitchen too. Smiles- you got a great tool Renea! 👍😊❤
Sometimes we keep putting off what is needed and then that day comes when we can't put it off any longer! Today was your day and know you will enjoy this! I got frazzled right along with you! Lol You did great! The pigs in a blanket turned out really nice! Alarick is a cutie! Thanks Renea!
Congratulations Renea on your beautiful new canner! That will last you a lifetime & you can pass it on. Those pigs in a blanket were so awesome!
I totally agree with you! Sometimes you just got to close your eyes and just buy it! Your canner is an investment that will pay for itself in a very short time! I’m having coffee with you and dreaming of spring! Can’t wait to get my fingers in the dirt! You inspire me!! Your grand-babies are so lucky! Homemade pigs in a blanket! Wow! Hugs from Ohio!
Hearing a canner jiggler is so relaxing! I loved this video!
If we didn’t have flops we wouldn’t be normal, that’s the way the cookie crumbles some times.
Your grand kids are adorable.
Your canner is beautiful and the best if luck with it. Pigs in a blanket came out beautifully. And yes coffee makes everything better. Next cup is on me. Have a great day 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Absolutely love spending time with you and your sweet family :-) Thanks for all you do! Blessings!
We all have bumps in the road but you handled yours with grace 🥰
The pigs in the blanket look absolutely delicious! YUM! Your little Grandchild is such a Cutie!♥️🥰
Just goes to show that we all can have one of those kind of days. Well done you for hanging in there.
ohhhh, precious grandbabies!! the pigs in blankets are perfect!! the new canner is really nice!!
Thank you Renae for your informative videos! in the short time I have been able to watch I have learned so much. Also, thanks for the great tip of turning the fan on when you’re cutting up onions, that saved my crying! You are awesome!
Nice canner, mine was a gift from my mother n law 50 years ago and still works like a dream!
Hi Renea, John and the grandchildren! An All American canner is a lifetime and then some investment. It’s a beast that does the job. I’ve heard of people warping their Presto and other canners, but not the All American.
Your food always looks so good.
John and the grandchildren are so sweet. Hope you all have a blessed day!
Your canning information is always spot on! Thanks for sharing.
You have inspired my husband and I to make bread. My Aunt always made all her bread, hamburger buns, eat. just like you. Unfortunately we did not live close so I was not able to be with her when she was making it. We both enjoy your videos, you are so down to earth. Thank-you for sharing your cooking and chit chats, gardening and chickens too. We have 5 cats that we love, they are so much fun.
CONGRATULATIONS ON 50 THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS!!!
YOUR UKRAINIAN FRIEND,
TATIANA
P.S. It's nice to hear your HAPPY home in the background.
Thank you Tatiana.
I completely agree with you about not taking shortcuts with canning. Not worth the risk! Love your videos! Thank you for another great one!
That comment about the cost of that canner pot ….priceless. You had me in stitches.😂
You are going to love this canner! I have had mine for several years! If anyone can afford them I highly recommend them.
He's such a little cutie ❗ congratulations on your new canner❗ see you in the next video sister 🙋🏻♀️
So glad you were able to get a canner!! The pigs in a blanket look delicious!
What a day you had Renea! I enjoyed the video very much.
Grandma Sue in central Indiana
I have the exact same All American canner you purchased. I've had it for 10 years or so and love it. It will last forever! You're going to love it! PS - Trust the jiggler 🙂
Renea, your going to love that All American. I have had mine a 921 for many many years and love it. I will can somewhere between 500-600 jars per year and am now giving serious to adding a 941 so I can run a double stack of quarts at a time. You just cant wear them out , they are that good.
I’m thrilled you got that canner. ❤️❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed your video today! Through trials and tribulations, you persevered!!! I have a Presto canner but I've only canned a few times. Now you make me want to get an All-American canner; you made it look so easy to work.
I agree with your suggestion, I have called the MSU Extension many times through the years for all sorts of information. You are far more brave than I am with using a pressure canner. I caught my Momma's fear of them and have always used the old water bath canner. I even got a instant pot as a gift and after one poor experience it's back in the box. But I don't can anymore or cook like I want to. I can stand long enough to make bread some days so I still get to share that sometimes! I love seeing your family!
Real life video, I love it grandchildren playing in the background. Being new to your channel have you ever made big soft pretzels and made a video ?❤
Yes it will I’ve got one and had one for a long time it’s easy to use you’ll love it everytime 😊
You did a fantastic job even with the canner episode!
Lol I feel your pain. Nothing more frustrating than trying to complete a task and something won’t work. Glad everything worked out well. As always enjoyed being in the kitchen with you today.
Hello Renea....is there a link available for the canning jar funnel? I love & look forward to watching your videos every week! You are a natural cook and your down to earth personality & heartwarming words encourage me to cook. I have learned so much from you & I thank you so much for inviting us into your kitchen, friend:)
I bought one like that at walmart.
@@usbpphillips Thank you 😀
I got it from Amazon. Around $15 or a bit less.
Renee, did you know you could use your butter wrappers as parchment papers? You could line your bread pans or ect., with the wrappers. 🥰
I came across your channel and fell in love!! You & I are close in age. I feel like a need to grab a cup of coffee and watch you cook! Ty so much for being authentic & down to earth. Ty for your video content. I've started watching your older video's. So I don't miss any delicious recipes. Again tyty for being my new friend. 🤗
You will love it, my mom got me one and I started canning with it and I love mine. She got mine cheap about 3 years ago now they are outrageous.
If anyone deserves a new canner it is YOU. Yes, a chunk of money, but you will use it a lot and take care of it properly. You definitely got your money's worth from the old canner, which was a used one. Yeah, a bummer the replacement gasket didn't fit. I'm glad you will have safe canning now. Happy to watch your podcasts. I really enjoy what you do!
I have that funnel & love it! Not only does it measure headspace, but also covers the rims of the jars, protecting them. They’re really good for new canners.
Hello Renea, What a day in the kitchen!! I am thinking about investing in a All American Canner, so glad you have yours, your Grandson loves his Papa, so adorable. I am going to make the pigs in a blanket as the look delicious, but then everything you cook looks delicious, I still think you should adopt me, lol. Have a fantastic day and see you on your next video!
Those pigs-in-a-blanket look beautiful and delicious! You are an awesome cook and an inspiration! I want to try this recipe just like all of your other wonderful recipes. I hope you understand how awesome and wonderful you are. It’s obvious to see that you cook with that most important ingredient that you must have to make those special dishes. The most important ingredient being LOVE of course! You are a blessing sweetie! I enjoy watching your videos very, very much!! You have such a precious family! I know you must have the most adorable and the most precious grandkids ever! Sending many well wishes and blessings your way.😇🙏😇🙏❤️
Thank you so much my friend.
I love watching and learning
Life sometimes throws us a curve and you handled it beautifully. Your hotdogs look great. Enjoy your new canner. I have wanted an all American canner for years. Maybe when one of my two old mirrors canners wears out I will bite the bullet and get one.
I hope you never upgrade your stove. You are so relatable ♥️♥️♥️
I love my All American canner. I have that one & the smaller size. They will last a lifetime. Keep your eye on the gauge even though it has a jiggler. I use Vaseline on the rim of my lid and pan. Sometimes the olive oil starts to feel sticky to me, but Vaseline doesn’t so I switched over to that. You will love it.
The Cadillac, you won’t regret it
“I did it again yacking” made me laugh. I’ve had days where I couldn’t fill to headspace to save my life, it gets frustrating. 😊
You have yourself a wonderful canner. Take care of it and it will last you a lifetime. Love my 921💗
I'm so glad I found your channel. You are an angel. Your recipes have been so helpful and I am looking forward to filling up my own pantry. Thanks for all your hard work and information.
No matter what you cook it always looks delicious.
Renae you will love this AA canner. I have the AA 21 qt and Presto 23 qt. When you put oil on the beveled edges I recommend using just a very thin layer of Vaseline instead of any oil. Oil will get gummy after a while.
I’m sorry you had such a frustrating time with your canner but I had to laugh when you talked about just stopping everything and going to the Amish store for a new one. I’ve been there a few times and reacted in the same way and it reminded me of myself….especially when you said you just told your husband..”I will be back!” I’m sorry, I just laughed out loud. I love your channel because you are just so honest and not trying to be perfect all the time and that’s how most of us live our lives too. And those pigs in a blanket turned out beautiful and I bet not many of them will make it to the freezer! 😊
Awesome canner, my hubby pretty much buys me any appliance as long as it keeps me in the kitchen and him well fed😅 god bless ❤ (omg, so precious, your grandson).
Put a wooden spoon over your pots that may boil over like those beans or I always put one over my potatoes when I’m boiling to mash. It really keeps them from boiling over!
I love your channel thank you for letting us in your family love from Maria from across the pond ❤
Oh and I’m glad to see everything turned out ok,May GOD continue to bless you and your beautiful family
Good morning from central Iowa. I just adore watching you cook, and then I head to my kitchen and have a good time.
💐 love the pigs in a blanket will be doing them on the weekend for the kids. Love the new canner iv got to get me one too. Hope your day got better 💐
My next canner will be an All American. I've been watching different people using one. I definitely want to double stack pints.😊
Wow, is that brave or what? You're amazing 🤣 What a day! Thank you for sharing 💐🙏
That canner will be a heirloom. I’m hoping to get a All American. I have a 23qt Presto for now. Those pigs in a blanket look delicious.
Renea, I LOVE watching you. You inspire me to go into the kitchen. Thank you for bring such good info. By the way, I love my All American Canner. Well worth the extra money.
My hubby loves pigs in a blanket. It's something he ate as a kid. So I will be making this recipe. Also... I tried your homemade cinnamon rolls and your rolls from a previous video and they turned out great. Another couple of recipes to add to my collection of hits. Thank you for all you share with us. Hoping you will do a rye bread and whole wheat bread recipe someday. Many thanks for all you do. I really enjoy your channel and all the things you teach.
Just finished making torts /con't w/ washing /packing taking a little break w/ figs and c.milk ✔️ my notif. And 💥 here You are!!! God bless you Lady you are a lifter!!!! Thank you God Bless You.
I'm one of those "Jigglers" at almost 59. My Mirro will do something like 17 pints. A few years back, I saw a listing for an All American Canner for sale for $ 150. I had been looking at them and knew the price was far north of that. So I drove from north of Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo to buy it. The gal had bought it the previous canning season, canned a couple of times with it and...... was now in the process of selling most of her belongings because she was going to hike the North Country Trail. (I mentally calculated that she would just about be hiking in the vicinity of my deer blind in UP in November. Hope she was prepared for the snow. lol)
I haven't used it yet as I haven't done much canning after the divorce. I've never used a dial before either. I thought I saw a video that said if the pressure went below poundage that you had to bring it back up and restart the timing. I can't believe that would be correct. Heaven sakes, what have we done all these years?!?
The last beans I canned were the no soak method. Wouldn't do it again. Although the beans were freshly purchased, they just didn't seem to tenderize as much as I felt they should. The top beans dried out and looked dry. Its not like there is a lot of hands on prepping with dry beans....soak and boil. Much better product.
I've got some beans to can myself....so convenient on the shelf .... and you've spurred me on to finally get out "The Beast" and give it a go. I too nixed buying the bigger canner. I couldn't imagine having to move it.
Sorry....not sorry...your gasket went bad on you. I got a mini tutorial on my canner as a result!
Have a great day!
Thanks Renea for sharing. Your yeast dough recipe . To make pig's in the blanket . My Mother had the same cooker . She used for all her canning . Don't know where it's at now . When she passed away . Some body took it. You will enjoy your canner. Your canned beans look so pretty . And the pig's in the blankets . Looks delicious . Have A Fantastic Day . Renea And Family .🦋🌹🦋🌹🦋🌹🦋
Good morning, Renea. Thank you for all you do.
Same thing happened to my canner! I too got an all american! I kept trying to get a replacement gasket, never got one to fit. Eventually I used vaseline on the gasket and got it to work again, use it as a backup.
go by the jiggler mostly, gauge is backup and lets you know when you can open :)
Congratulations on the All American, she is beautiful!
so glad you are in this seson of life that you could go get you a replacement canner when needed and yes 22everyone needs an emergency fund
Your family and you are a treasure. Thank you for sharing. 😘
I understand the frustration of gaskets for the Mirro canner. I bought one 25ish years ago and even back then it gave me grief. I still have it for a just in case type of situation. I’m so happy you bought the Cadillac of canners 😃 I hope to buy one someday. Until then I use and love my Presto.
I have one of the same funnels you do and I never noticed the measuring line before. Thank you for letting me know that. I am new to canning , have water bath canned for the last 2 years. I just got a Presto Electric pressure canner last week. So far I have canned ugly chicken and bone broth in it. In fact I have pinto beans soaking right now for tomorrow. I will be making some plain pintos and some ranch style beans. I am excited about moving on to learning this next new step in canning.
We love pigs in a blanket..I have a bread machine. ..gonna make my dough. In it for these yummys.. I used to do canning over 20 yrs ago ..but stopped ..now I buy my canned goods ..but home canning is still best Renee.. I admire your energy..have a blessed day with your family...thank you for this great video...😊❤️❤️🙏
Everytime I see a AA, I think of the one my sister took to the dump. This was before ai started canning and didn't know what it was. How I wish I had followed my instincts and took it home with me. It was our paternal grandmothers AA she had given my Dad.
I love my canner it was from 1972 got it at auction made it one year and the seal went on it I finally found one and it was 25.00 with shipping more than I paid for the canner but girl I love that canner. Great video as usual
Love the new canner yes the mirror canners are hard to find the gaskets. Thank you for another inspiring day.
We tried your big batch brownies they are delicious Your new toy is a beauty. Have a blessed week.TFS
I use a pie crust for pigs in a blanket. It’s amazing!
Canning dried beans is fine and has been done for generations. That being said, I also like precooked beans so they come out more like a soup. lol I'm not a new canner. I have 50+ years experience. Some methods I prefer over others. My newest toy is my freeze dryer and I am loving how light weight my jars are. I don't prefer sealing in Mylar. All American canners are the best. I've had my 930, 11 years. That size was 259.00 back then. lol
Your new canner will pass down with no problem. With as much canning as you do it's worth every penny. Besides you deserve it.
Love that canner I'm so glad you got down there and got that if that would have been me I would have blowed up I hope I can find seals for mine when I need them you are right they are hard to find them I'm glad you got your beans canned and then pigs-in-a-blanket looks good 👍😊 love you talk to you later enjoy the video I really did God bless you sweetie 😘😘
Those pigs in a blanket look delicious !!!
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the All American didn't have a gasket.
Hey Renea! Congratulations on the new canner! NICE video! Luv ya! See ya soon! ♥️🌼♥️
I'm not a big hot dog eater but those do look good! A sprinkling of parm cheese on the egg wash would be good too.
I'm with you in that I gave up on rubber gasket. My husband bought me an All American for Christmas a year ago. It took a bit of a learning curve at first but now it's easy to use. I love it!! I have heard of women who waited to long after it came down from pressure to open it and couldn't. It created too much of a suction seal and wouldn't open. I haven't had that problem but I don't let it sit long either. Enjoy canning!!
Im a new Subscriber ...Your such a breath of fresh air love your channel . Wanna try those pigs in a blanket hmmmmm yummy ❤Thank you Rene 🌈🌞🇨🇦
You handled that situation so well. Just told Mr Wayna, I will be right back! 🤭a lady on a mission. I bought an all American canner for that very reason. No gasket. It is very heavy, but I love it! There is a learning curve, but it is a piece of art and equipment, but a lifetime investment. My lid got stuck a few times 😰 and had to learn about that. I use a very thin amount olive oil now, started out using vaseline. You will love this canner Renae and I am so happy for you. I trust the juggler, and use the gauge is just a general guide. God bless
