I enjoyed the performance. It's the best I've heard of this piece. No wonder she won. She deserves it;)
However, teachers really need to focus on intrepretation with the piece. So many pianists play the primary melody too quickly and with about as much emotion as a stone. Probably because too many students view it as boring. I don't particularly care for Beethoven, generally, but I love playing this piece. It's NOT boring. Repetitive, yes, but that's Beethoven. Numerous different composers (and especially modern songwriters) composed repetitive pieces, yet who complains?

    Why so fast?☹️
This a romantic piece it must be played slowly.

    • @PianoandDance

This is Beethoven’s piece at classical era. It can not be played romantically like Chopin.

As you can see by the name of the piece “fur Elise” which translates in English as for Elise, this is a piece which Beethoven wrote for one of his students named Elise. He loved her. So he made an easy song that she can play it easily. He later found out that she is married. In conclusion made it harder so she can’t play it. That is why it gets harder from a point.
Also if you look at other pianists performances you will see that they play it slower just like a romantic piece from that era.
You played it very well but if you play it slower it would sound even better 🙂
