- After speaking about how wonderful spears are in Blade and sorcery full release, I had to talk about just how powerful maces ended up being. And just how many Use cases / solutions Maces offer to the welder. Kind of acting as a swiss army knife of the weapon world. ~Not Counting Polar~ Let's get into it!

Maces Are The SILENT KING of Violence.
#VR #Gaming #MindOfMadness - #Spears #Blade&Sorcery #Update
PS. Holy moly did not mean for this video to be this long but i hope you enjoy, i'll try to make the next B&S video shorter. I was really blow away at how many solutions revealed themselves when i was actually putting the mace through its paces. It's hard to describe but B&S does a very good job at putting you in A variety of Situations that might be a little far fetched but also show you where weapons Weaknesses And strengths lie. Not perfect but Pretty damn good. Anyways, I can't wait to make the next video on B&S, i think I'm going to try out the Helberg Next!
Thank you so much for Giving Me A *SINGLE SECOND* Of Your Day!💗You Might like these:

In Films: Swords cutting through full plate like it's not even there.
In Real Life: European armour for the aristocracy became so effective by the 15th century that it virtually rendered all slashing weapons worthless against anyone wearing the same type of armour. So, a good percentage grabbed maces or hammers instead-a la King Robert Baratheon.
thats also why most of the sword are really old and the hammers and maces have been more created around renaissance so 1600 or something like that
another common misconception about generally medieval arms and armor is that good plate armor won't get devastated by a blunt impact, even polearms like the poleaxe are told to be devastating to knights when in reality a strike to the chest with a properly made cuirass would likely keep the user safe, but force is distributed across the body. the only thing knights really need to be worried about is getting knocked out, which is done a lot of the time with a blunt instrument, even a solid branch could knock a knight out, but you'd still be better off with a helmet
i mean, yeah, solidly forged metal is never going to crumble like paper unless you have a trash compactor, but even the tiniest of dents in form-fitting armor is going to be devastating to the person underneath. and in terms of preventing TBIs, dispersion of force is next to useless. there's no part of your head where you can safely take any amount of blunt force. no matter how well made your helmet or coif or head mail is, unless it comes with an airbag, a solid blow to the head is taking you out of the battle, and falling unconscious on a battlefield means you're never going to wake up
Greatsword enjoyer here, I totally get what you mean when it comes to people misunderstanding the weight and leverage of your favorite weapon(s). People often will treat them as these unwieldy slabs of steel, but it couldn't be farther from the truth
Fun Blade & sorcery facts when hitting an enemy in the head with a blunt weapon like a maze there is a very rare chance for there to be the iconic Bonk sound effect to play, it happend to me ones and it was very surprising. Don't know how rere it is but it's not common at all.
I honestly may have heard that before, but also I was playing around once and just punching people and the sounds it made just sounded like I was fist fighting a vending machine lmao
"oh the crows beak doesnt look that cool it cant be good!"
Meanwhile, the crows beak 1shotting fully armoured eye members and sending them flying in the other direction
People saying a crow's beak doesn't look cool as hell are just wrong
@@Echo_8054 at first, i thought it was just a metal rod with some attachments, then i looked at the design and realized it's actually pretty fkin neat
Fighting the golem with the crow’s beak is fun, if a little impractical
the great mace is better imho, it does more damage for some reason
I didn’t even notice your hands
A lot of your points have led me to understand why I like axes so much. It like, combines the sheer momentum-based damage of a mace with the deep cutting advantage of swords and knives. They're still capable of dealing damage through armor where a sword would struggle to, and is capable of dealing the same amount of "damage" as a mace with direct contact. (with less energy expended, too) They also have the utility of (depending on their shape) hooking an attacker's sword, sweeping out their leg, or in B&S can even use them to slide down ropes!

Damn, that was quite the block!
wait till you use a great morning star it is very fun in blade and sorcery or the flanged warmace
great morningstar doesnt exist, the flanged warmace is called a great mace now
depending on the spear's size and length, a mace secondary can be very good or kinda good. honestly this goes for having a mace as a secondary as a whole, it's just up to your primary weapons flexibility. Will say javelins and short-spears work best when using even the most basic of maces, but longer 2-handers tend to be a little tricky. holding the spear on the upper grip and one handing the mace works best if need me, for added control and a surprise sweeper in the form of the spears lower-grip and the rest of the handle. Mace deflects, Spear punctures.
also the ballistic gel dummies are ment to yknow, shoot, with a gun
As a sword boi who was actually nicknamed "sword boy" in high school, I agree with everything you're saying here and in the spear video. Maces/Warhammers and Spears don't get enough love, they're pretty fantastic and versatile, and many a sword boi is pretentious and often applying the wrong mindsets to using anything that's not a sword.
i love someone who appreciates blade and sorcery's combat the same way i do, i don't necessarily have the weapons knowledge you do but we share the enthusiasm for the game and i love that
My thoughts on this lean towards both maces and swords filling diffrent yet overlapping roles, personally I feel a two handed sword with a mace head pommel and warhammer head quillons would be the swiss army knife of two handed melee.
Completely unrelated to the video but i’ve found a new surprisingly fun way to play blade & sorcery… Hear me out
* a mod that locks telekinesis through an unlock (can’t force grab weapons)
* i disabled jumping so no more super man leverage it’s all climbing baby
* start with the “bare ass naked” backstory that the (no telekinesis) mod adds
masochistic, awful, incredibly fun, mess.
disabling jumping sounds lovely, how do you do it
@@waffler-yz3gw unbind it
Basically all you need to know is that there is no weight in vr which mean you can just swing around a ball of steel killing anyone in its path. Not to mention the upgraded version if the mace he's using.
make a Bec de corbin or war pick video.
i'm slowly coming to the realisation that swords, while flashy and very cool, might be one of the worst conventional weapon designs...
I'm half convinced a heavy enough soup ladle has a chance against them after this video.
Maces actually cannot pierce armor irl all that well. It's a common myth, perpetuated by video games where maces pierce armor.
Maces are best... against exposed flesh, bones and joints. Blunt trauma is no joke.
An armored guy may still suffer from a concussion though. With pointy sticks or blades you usually have to seek for weakpoints, or accelerate the pointy sticks fast enough to actually pierce (certain crossbows) but even that is unreliable.
This and your video on spears really drew me in! Yes, I'm a sword person. What can I say? I like slashing and stabbing with badass looking piece of steel! I did try messing around with spears and maces after i watched the videos though!
btw whats the manwha you keep showing on screen?
That’s why an axe is great, it’s sharp like sword but heavy like a mace
the axes in blade and sorcery are like this and it's super cool, they are *beefy* weapons
I want an exercising mace now omg that’s so cool
A mace cannot actually pierce full plate armor, guaranteed given enough time and effort you could but that is a ridiculous time frame. Plate armor is near impenetrable that's why if you look in training manuscripts or at guides on how to use longsword they mention the need to attack GAPS in armor (Neck, armpits, and lower cuirass) this is because aiming for the chest or helmet with a slashing weapon is near useless. Later on though people did switch to weapons with more leverage, or range or both as an example a halberd though slashing has a sort of blunt axe head providing good blunt damage to the opponent, you can incapacitate a full plate armor opponent in one good strike to the helmet, this will not pierce the helmet but the force going through it would knock them out. But no weqpon can truly pierce plate armor except for modern guns higher than a .25 caliber.
Sorry for the ramble, but here's a fun fact knights actually did have to face guns in fact if you were a knight and you bought a chestplate without a dent in it you knew you got ripped off cause no dent means the chestplate wasn't tested for a gun. Also if you want to see the first guns look up Handcanon and Arquebus.
swords in combination with shields works really well in combat even against spears. they also offer a larger cutting edge, as opposed to a spear where you could hit someone with the blunt staff of the spear. when fighting in crowds, swords were far more agile than spears as they were shorter and could be wielded alongside a shield. depending on the battle, a spear or a sword would be better.
larger swords such as the zweihander were designed against pike formations, pikes being essentially much heavier longer spears.
against plate armour blunt weapons and daggers are usually the most effective tools. although between two armoured opponents, it would usually result in a grapple.
Amazing video
That apple really had permanent residence on your mace huh?
This whole video can be summed up in two words “no shit”
man discovers blunt force trauma
"I dont know how a mace and a spear would complement eachother"
*goedendag*, milord
(It is *the* mace spear, and it is brutal)
Mauls in this game are so satisfying
There are exercise maces?! I did not know this before but since I know now I'm going to look it up. That would be so cool to work out with! Thanks for the fun video and a new possible workout tool idea!
I find the way you fight with a mace fascinating. There's a weapon called a Tabar-Shishpar. It has a macehead on one end of a shaft, and then an axe head on the other. I feel like I could learn a thing or two about fighting with a one of those from this video alone.
I love how they are one handed or two handed, sharp, and blunt(I don't play vr swordfighting all that much but do other things like larping) the skill ceiling is also a good deal higher than it seems because of the handle and blocking ability
Are you left handed?
Eh I’d use them if they didn’t send people flying iykyk
Can you do a video on axes?
What did swords do to you bro
maces are cool, but swords do damage over time if you hit them right
maces still better tho idk what you mean
Maces are like light sabers, They have infinite edges.
Personally I like chained weapons or rapiers but yeah maces are fun too
What historically accurate chained weapon exist ?
@@MutatedOnionim not sure if you are talking in game but the only ones that had any actual use were a pole with maybe 3 chains connecting it to a bludgeon. I love fantasy flails but they are stupid weapons.
6:09 can anyone tell me where this face comes from?
