Pontiac GTO Shelby GT500 GT350 1969 Camaro Ferrari California Lamborghini Auction Dealer Classic Antique prices buyer fees what is there - Авто/Мото
This is the vette you want to buy. Well taken care of, low-ish mileage, but it was still driven. That "still driven" part is way more important than most people realize.
Yup. A 68k mile C5 is going to have far less issues than a 6800 mile C5. One day I will inherit my step dad's 1992 triple black WS6 Convertible Trans Am with a 5-spd and 15k miles. It's likely going to need every hose, seal, and fluids replaced. I just hope there's no critters living in it chewing up the wiring.
I’d give grandpa everything . U only live once Craig
Then Superchat Craig some money to give his grandparents. You're very generous with other people's money. Let's see how generous you are when it involves your money.
Remember, "you only live once" Normie!
@@andydhillon1977 what a sleazeball thing to say. Life isn’t about money apparently you still haven’t figured that out yet, which is super sad. Anything to make a dollar right pal.
@@andydhillon1977 if it was about money, his grandparents would have sold it themselves. They wanted the grandson to have it, they said that in the video. You should be old enough to know better if you were born in the 70s. Extremely selfish, entitled and ignorant mindset.
@McNelisG You haven't figured out yet that you don't know any of the details of their agreement and automatically assume he's a "sleazeball". You fools think you're so righteous.
You damn Normies don't know when to keep your worthless comments to yourself.
I'm having a blast. Craig, I hope you appreciate me destroying these Oxygen Thieves! 🤣
@@McNelisG Another Normie with his worthless opinion has entered the chat. 🤣
How about just sell the car for grandpa and grandma and give them all the money. You are on this planet because of them.
It's not the money,it's the memories that matter in life. Give the grampa full auction profit. He deserves it!!
Man for $12k keep it and let your son make some memories in it someday!! He will be driving in the blink of an eye.
Exactly! Craig would sell his left foot if he could make a grand off of it.
I’d agree with you if he didn’t already have the Viper
@@McNelisG I don't think his decisions are really any of your business dude
@@dakotaautosales9673 well he posts his decisions online for everyone to see so technically he’s making it everyone’s business
Splitting money with grandpa?? What a grandson.
Also 60k is not all that low! Under 10k is low bring alot of money low! 60k is like regular vette miles dont expect to hit a home run wit 68k
Exactly. 68M is actually higher miles for a c5. There's tons for sale local to me with half that or less.
@@longjohn77 it's not the miles, it's the maintenance .
You should give him ALL the profits from the sale. You make enough on this video. Do the right thing.
You should do the right thing and send me your pay check.
Shut up
Craig, special episode. I'm 52 and very much miss my grand's. They and your parents are the ONLY people you will respect more only after they are gone. Please enjoy and understand the blessing while you move to Florida. Love your show bro.
Agreed - I just turned 40 and I think Craig is about my age or slightly older but the fact that he still has both sets of grandparents is a blessing and kind of rare at our age - I still have one set of mine who I visit almost daily, but I miss my other grandparents everyday (dad's parents) who died in my teens and mid-20's.
Beautiful car, but that is NOT low, low mileage for a 'Vette. It's OK mileage, but not low, low mileage.
Very true.
This is the mileage you want on a vette of this year though.
i mean for a car from 04 thats pretty low thats like 3-4k miles a year
@@zactormak For everyday cars, that's correct. For a modern Corvette, that's high mileage.
Correct but Craig's idea of low miles is 100k+
Better off selling it at your dealership makes no sense to go through all this work.
It making no sense to you is the very reason why Craig does what he does for a living and why you watch his content instead of making your own.
These auctions are not meant for making money on these average cars!
This is so bittersweet!!! I would have done the same thing for my grandparents if they were still with me. My grandfather actually worked for General Motors until the day he retired. Keep doing you Craig!!
I’m going to enjoy this video series. It’s the wait for each video that’s going to drive me crazy
I'm picking nits but it was 350hp. The early yrs were 345 Craig. I had an 02 & loved it. Most people use their phones for GPS anyway. These were light about 3,178 lbs.
Don't mooch ur grandpa, give him all the money.
How's it mooching off them?
@@andydhillon1977 do u know what mooching means in car business? If not, go 2 ur local dealer for education and stop stroking.
If he had integrity he would have bought the car, sold it and just gave the profit to his grandparents. Instead he’s going to split it like a business deal.
@@RedPanda_______ Were you part.of the deal?
@@RedPanda_______ and he removed my comment when I talked Shit 2 back AndyDillion.
That car is $20k around me all day long. Id buy it for $12k all day.
Lol $20k
@@dakotaautosales9673 no lol. I am serious. One just sold near me for $15k with 150k miles.
My neck of the woods C5 auto 13-14K Barrett-Jackson hype 15-17K ....but with toast traction control/ABS module might bring the price down unless he opens it up and re-solder it and hopefully fixes it.
@@Murminator660 $13-14k sounds a little low for a 60k mile late-C5 vert unless condition is far from pristine - This likely wouldn't touch 20 large but would certainly bring high-teens in my area.
@Stressless2023 it's a 15 k car top right now everything fixed & detailed.
The auction fees are ridiculous, A private party sale or bring a trailer would be better off. I guess craig just wants to trip to florida on grandpa
Under 30,000 miles is low 68,000 isn't low its mid range
I think he only looks at Years time average number of miles per year for most people. 68k om 20yo car ain't too bad
Love this, this is literally my dream car and to see like this is awesome!
It's weird to me when people say an auto won't bring much money when they constantly sell quicker and usually pretty close to asking price.
I commented above saying Corvette drivers don't mind an A/T 😊
True, but sports cars with sticks tend to sell for more because they're more rare and people that want them usually won't even consider an auto.
@@aaronbritt2025 you would think that but from my experience waiting for that right buyer ends up costing in the long run because you could had already sold the vehicle and moved on to the next flip and not had money tied up in the sports car with a manual. On the other hand if you had enough money to keep it tied up in the manual to get top dollar it is a win. So I would say it's a double edged sword in that regards.
@@jeremyTallen1 I'm specifically talking about at BJ.
Who would look for a 25 year old auto? the technology is worth than horse. If he took this car to barrett he better have paid 6k
Melvin will pay you Cash for it😂
Melvin is on a Greyhound bound for Florida right now...he's got $87 in his wallet, 8 maxed out credit cards and a story you won't believe...Barret Jackson won't know what hit them.
Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!
Such an under the radar car. Love these types of videos.
it's the only car where I was ever let go with just a warning.
That’s really Not low miles for a C5, my 02 has 30k
I think the expenses don’t outweigh the possible additional monies you could receive by using an auction house. The Vette is a run of the mill and can be found everywhere and think selling local, although slightly more hassle, could be more conducive. Now for video content, different story!
yep, performance car buyers dont want a convertible, they want the top trim hard top versions
@@joshfullbright7678 anyone buying a car of that age is not seeking absolute performance, and the price always goes up as the top goes down.
There's not much left on the bone after the auction gets theres. I'd clean it up & sell it on his lot for asking 17$ k or so.
It should go for $22,000 because the 04-z06 package is going for $25,000. But needs to see how much rust is on the frame and that’s what tells it’s value.
Mr. flying wheels please let me know when you’re down here. I’m trying to shop for some cars at your dealership and also learn from you as a mentor. I’m trying to open my dealership myself you inspired me.
I literally just sat down with my dinner and you made only a 10min vid? I can’t with ya !
I'm going to stop buying cars that I like for "RUclips content"..... /proceeds to buy another car for RUclips content, lolz.
I couldn’t buy a car from my grandparents then sell it 😮.
I’d feel bad selling there memories. Hope they are really ok with you selling it. I’d be mad for you selling my memories. 😮😮
I'm mad at you for thinking everyone should view the world as you see it.
They are the ones selling their memories LOL
What a crappy thing to do right. Probably broke their hearts.
@@McNelisG I would assume the couple has cherished memories form shared events, not mere possessions. to answer the people who get emotionally attached to old Chevys.
@@richardelliott8352 most people would be ashamed of their grandson, turning around and selling that car for a lousy extra couple grand when you have plenty of money….what a shame, shows a lot of character. Craig would sell his left nut if he could make $1000 off of it.
this is just a bad idea and disappointing to watch
In 2003, the Cobra was putting out 390/390 and was known to be more than that off the showroom floor. (in reply to your nothing was putting out power like that in 2003).
amen brother facts
All the haters saying it's a auto well I'm a dealer an never had a problem selling auto vettes or any automatic car actually usually sells alot faster an for just as much!
that transmission stuff is just car magazine snobbery , people read that stuff that promotes the writer as king expert, which sells mags to the fanbois but is inconsequential when people vote with their wallet. traffic makes the auto trans more valuable, plus a lot of old cats have bad knees . used as a GT, the stick is more gas efficient.
P.S. This is a silly video since private party sales on a ~60K mile Vette are 16K+ on cargurus. You could literally just spend $30 and place an ad on a couple sites and sell this thing for more than you'll get at the auction, especially when you factor fees, run around ,etc. Gotta stop wasting time on this stuff unless the RUclips activity is paying $$$$
I REALLY "HOPE" it does well at auction ! Not just for You but to give your Grandparents a NICE little gift for taking care of it !!! I had a 03 but it was a Blue coupe and not the True 50th !!! GOOD LUCK !!!
This guy really just bought a car off a family member to turn around and make money on it. I would’ve just auctioned it and given them the full amount.
Yep it speaks volumes about character
Cool send me your paycheck.
@@McNelisG Did you see what sold for now what have you got to say smarty
@@dakotaautosales9673 yeah it was pretty careless to sell it dirt cheap at an auction. He could’ve sold it private for $20,000 easy. His loss.
@@McNelisG At first you are complaining and talking trash about making money off family members and now you're talking about going for the throat which one is it dude LOL
It's probably a 16K car. I don't think it's going to bring that at BJ. Not the best place to sell that car.
It's a beautiful unit. I hope it went well
Just an old c5, dime a dozen now days. But one owner triple blk low miles is a very nice find for a collector.
when I first got my C% , a man more skilled about cars than myself said if he had my car, he would park it in the back yard for about ten years. I drove it for three, and am now about to spend to put it back on the road, about ten years later. it does everything I need , except not burn gas.
great stuff thanks
Florida is packed a good time to open a dealership there. thats a nice corvette love the triple black.
That is just average mileage for a 2004 C5. There are many out there with less. I have a 2000 with 47 K miles.
So if it was a 6 speed you might have some upside. But an automatic, even as clean as it is....are easy to find.
I predict after ALL expenses you might net $500 each.
Automatics are way more popular in a convertible obviously you are not in the business
350 hp in 2004. The early LS1's had 345.
Couldn't sell my grandpa's car, that tough!
As one ages, it the memories that have value, not the material crap you drag along with you through the years.
A automatic isn’t a deal breaker on a Corvette, especially a convertible IMO
Hope it does well!
LMAO…blurs out the plate on the Corvette but not on the car in the garage!
Thanks
Craig sorry to say but Barret Jackson is not worth it for selling not priced cars. It is good for luxury cars, and unique cars not all but some. For cars on those prices it is not good.
Well stated.
Kind of hard to be the original owner when they bought it in 04 and its 01
Didn't he say it was an 04?
If I've ever seen a mint car, that's it.
There’s a corvette meet up in Daytona in two weeks. If anyone is going with a decent C 6 that you don’t think is made of gold… I’m interested.
Would have considered the C 5. It’s the perfect color combination. Triple black.
Low miles for a 20yo car but not for a Corvette. The paint sure took a beating on that car. 😢 I think you'd make more money selling it somewhere other than BJ.
Does your dad still have the 2010 Shelby
Not even close to Barret Jackson. Run of mill Corvette!
Sweet ride, has alot going for it.Should do well at bj in Florida
It's your Grandpa's 1 owner Corvette..your GPA could have easily sold it through the Corvette club for 20k.I will give you 15k as is and shown, fly to Florida and pick it up.
Agreed!
Cool Video 👍 For 12k I’d keep grandpa’s Corvette, you can’t find a Corolla with 68k for that price anymore. Especially if you’re moving to Florida, keep it , enjoy it and double the miles on it.
I feel like he decided to sell it to you specifically so you could keep it, and not turn around and sell it. Personally it would be to sentimental for me to go and sell it, even if I knew it was easy profit.
Well u know car salesman don't have a soul 😂😂😂
Gotta love how Normies always assume they know all the details.
@@andydhillon1977 grandpa has been around the block enough times to know what dealers do when they buy a car.
SOB! That car is a bargain at $12k…Craig if it does not sell at auction I’m seriously interested. I personally could not sell my Grandparents Corvette…given that you are relocating to Florida I’d keep it and give it to one of your kids. Talk about sentimental value…both of your Grandparents had interest in that car.
Any updates on your E Ray order Craig?
Funny thing is that when I first saw the video I said it was a 2001. I couldn't believe you were getting a last model year c5 for $12k when MMR on a similar one was $14K, and I did some checking and now know the car isn't a 2004, it's a 2001 like I thought, so what gives Craig?
Are you grandparents confused? Are you confused?
I hope you have a good explanation for the BS?!
By the way even a 2001 convertible with 68k miles has an MMR of $14K, so why are you low balling your grandparents!
I see the car did $16500 and auto check shows 2 owners.
1G1YY32G915103423
Definitely a 2001 and actually the Carfax says 3 owners with mileage inconsistency.
In 04/11/2014 the car had
96,799 mi.
Fingers crossed you replaced the oil sending unit that had failed before you sent it to auction.
Did Craig make it on TV while he was at Barrett Jackson?
love your videos i have an 04 terminator that still smokes todays corvettes so u cant really say that vette was top dog in 04 it just was not ...but love how u hype up everything.. sad part is u had a cobra u know the hp
Your terminator won't even come close to running with the new cprevents LOL
U did well congrats
Lots of people want an automatic convertible
anybody who deals with traffic wants an auto. back then a stick had a slight performance advantage , on paper, that was insignificant , and would have you shifting like a bastard to outrun the auto.
“Grandma, What’s your favorite memory in this car?”
Grandma: 😳😮😧😦😱😨
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Clean 🎉😮
He wanted 12k for that car? Worth a whole lot more than that. Even an auto.
Obviously you don't know much about selling convertibles automatic transmission is whatever buddy wants
My dream car nice vette.
c5’s are desirable, afffordable and bulletproof ls1. keep it and dump something else.
didn’t you learn from mecum auction
This car doesn't sale for much you better off putting it for sale at your lot or raffle it to all your subscribers
Just looked at the results of 2024 Barret Jackson Palm Beach and there was no 2004 Black Corvette on the docket?
It's almost perfect, will get top $$$ 🙂
"nothing was putting out power like this". Sir, the 2003 - 2004 Cobra (akd The Terminator) was underrated at 390hp and was hurting feelings of Z06 owners.
My guess is 10 grand that will bring....Hope i'm wrong and it brings more !!!!
You're very wrong!
Definitely at least 14-15
your right probably 8 grand....my bad@@OutlawChevy2
You have done well. Why split?
Old folk didn't used the vette cause it was already sold, talk about the value of one's word. Rare these days
It's easily worth 20 grand after you get it all pimped out
Your Grandfather Looks Great 👍
Always more Corvettes 😂
I own 2 Rare Color combo C5 Convertibles Corvettes myself. 2001 35K miles- 2002 59K miles. I know the market reasonably well on these. Depends on who's in the room. (17K-19K. W/ That mileage ) Quality UNMOLESTED C5's are on the rise..
How on earth did you dream up this scheme?
Good stuff Craig. Thanks for sharing.
Craig - why split all the profit with the old couple? Ride Them Up! Charge them the auction fees, buyer fees, prep fees and don’t forget any gas you put in it ……… 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I do enjoy your videos, but man, the audio on this one was painful...
That should be a bring a trailer
😆😅🤣😂right, BAT is just dying to list a higher mile 2 owner c5
Honest opinion... It'll probably sell for about $15k at BJ. It's low mileage and one owner, but there's nothing really special about it and it's an automatic. If it was a Z06 coupe, it would probably get about $25k. I think you should sell the Viper (you never drive it, so it's obviously an investment, not a car) and keep the Vette. You can leave it stock and keep it as a Summer weekend toy, or you can mod it and have a car that would leave that Viper for dead.
In the comments, someone said the car was a 2001, reran the search and a 2001 Corvette was sold for $16,500.
Didn't learn from the last time you were there.
That wasn’t the max horsepower in 2004, you’re forgetting the 03-04 terminator cobra which had 390 hp but actually had that to the wheels.
He was clearly talking about the base models of those cars.
Yeah no kidding, I had a 04 jaguar xjr supercharged 390hp. Was a monster for its time
The Z06 had 405hp
@@andydhillon1977he clearly did not say anything about base models at all. In fact he even mentioned the only car that had more hp at the time was the z06, and to top it off he said no “mustang or Camaro” had “any” cars out with that much hp. Good talk tho
love your channel. Barrett-Jackson has not made you anything. I have been doing what you are doing for 30+ years and I try not to keep doing the same wrong thing. Do what makes a profit. It is a business not a hobby.
RUclips content makes money, and the recognition is also probably a greater benefit to his business, because people only buy from friends, generally. that's why a greeting is so very important to a salesperson.
Cars like this do not belong in auctions like this, fees eat everything, and this car is a Camaro now basically.
im selling my house in ft lauderdale .great video content !
This is not a 2004, this is a 2001. You better run the Carfax.
Do you feel bad about stealing the Corvette from you grandparents? Lol
