In this video we review how the option Remote Park Assist works on the Porsche Taycan, 911 and Cayenne. This system works in conjunction with Active Parking Support I created a video on this feature please see below. If the space is so tight that I can't get in or out of my own car, I'm certainly not gonna park that close to the chuckleheads in either side who are gonna potentially put a nice dent in my door.
Was thinking the same thing. If the space is so tight I just look for another more secluded one or drive to another garage...

The trick is parallel parking. Most people can drive into a space and would rather do it themselves. I do not want to park in a tight space as it could damage your door or the other car door.

what an amazing feature , a parking time gets 100times slower and need to be run behind it like im taking my dog for walk ;p
to be efficient this have to be done completely remotely, just press park on phone and walk away. no one has extra 2 minutes when in rush to wait the car to park by itself

I live in the Netherlands and when I see a tight parking spot I park elsewhere, I have had enough bad experiences with people dinging my door, hitting my car when they are backing out etc... Then people wonder and get mad at some expensive car owners double park, I personally understand why people do it, but I either park as far as I can from others or take single spaces or just look for another garage/parking spot elsewhere...
Nice video Mason, I guess jumping in trough the back window at the end there would be a bit too much of a risk (for the car, I am sure you would heal eventually at a lower cost) :D
Any experience or data on how tight spaces it would allow vs the width of the car? I think we all agree this feature is not first and foremost useful because it is more efficient than a normal pcar driver parking manually, but because you might want to park somewhere you actually could not comfortably exit the car like a very narrow garage (assuming the person next to you does NOT have to enter his/her car on a side that faces you).
Some of these assistance systems requires so much buffer spaces that you would always have to park manually to get into tighter spaces, and then it becomes a bit moot. I still went for the option (and appreciate you did a video on it!), but curious to find out if it will be useful where needed.
Also I see some folks mentioning better cameras if you choose this option? I do not find other data mentioning that, but also something that it would be great to clarify. The virtual "tour" around the car in stead of the top down view is now only available with this option (even if it was available with a workaround in older software versions), is that tied to the "better cameras" and what are the differences? I assume Porsche would sell more of this option if it benefits was detailed out a bit more :)

How do you connect the Taycan to home Wi-Fi for people that don’t have good cell service at home? I have the latest software which is the PCM 6 with color icons.

Wouldn‘t you have parked 10 Taycans while this system was parking one? I have the option too on my Taycan, but I had to take it, because I wanted to have the upgraded camera system

It's cool technology, but my goodness is that convoluted. Tesla does it so much better. Not that it matters since I don't have either. Still, in a few more years, when this is the norm and nearly all vehicles, it will be interesting to see what method gets adapted.

Nice, however: I'd parked it in much, much less time - and in tight spaces, i wouldn't park a Tycan just out of caution - because the neighbor-cars left and right still would not have that autopark feautre and may damage the Tycan - or simply, it's too tight, because the Tycan could be a little too large...
It looks like too fumbly fur parking and I'd not waste my time on waiting outside (could be cold, raining ...) which somewhat limits its usefullness.

For me, if you could get out at a restaurant, and have the car valet itself, that would be cool. This on the other hand feels a bit gimmicky, and I would feel like a D-bag walking right by my car while it parks itself. Idk, my .02.

if you are in such a tight space you can't get in or out then neither can the occupants of the cars either side. sounds like a recipe for door dings as people slam their doors into your car
Exactly! Likely to piss off the other guys and get your door dinged out of spite. With the exception of tight parking in your own garage, this is just a gimmick.
Teslas "full self driving" can't even do this. 🤣
