    They should make a memory card with a sensor on it, that you could you could install where the film sits.

    Your video is one of the best objective reviews of the camera. Good job. I'm in the camp of really loving the camera but not willing to spend $500 for it. I shoot only Pentax vintage slr and Pentax digital so my opinion is biased knowing how much more quality is available at a much lower price. Look forward to future videos on the Pentax 17 from you if you decide to do some.

      $750 equivallent in Europe. One would expect at least full manual control, 1/1000s shutter and preferably also AF option.

      @@xmeda the question is where can we find a brand new film camera with your specs on current market?

      @@xmeda550 euros in the Netherlands, which at the time I write this is around 600 US dollar.

    4 cameras: Pentax 17, advanced compact (maybe full auto, AF, 35mm etc). ILC (SLR most likely, electronic, maybe MZ-S/MZ-50 style), fully mechanical SLR (Pentax LX/K2/ style I suppose)

    I was watching your video and then saw one of your macro shots looked a lot like one I had taken with my Pentax 17 then I realized you had been to Sendall gardens :). Picked mine up from Kerrisdale Cameras in Langley. Well on to the rest of the video.

    Did you happen to record the dimensions of the leatherette you cut out? I would like to do the same.

      Hi there, it's roughly 4.3cm x 4.5cm and 4.5cm by 3.3cm. I would recommend order more then just this area, in case you need to do it more then once. I have a link in the description of the one I ordered on Amazon.

    My copy seems to be really well built. It doesn’t rattle or anything. The only thing is that the back on the right side can be pressed in a little bit.

      @Dulabicstudio  24 дня назад

      Yeah it seems they really cheaped out on the back door.

      Same here, would be great if Canon and Nikon and Fujifilm all came out with a new film camera. Obviously, digital is the future but I think there is a business model for all the big companies to have 1 to 3 film cameras. This could be just the beginning.

    Instead of vague symbols they should have just put the distancse on the focusing

    Gracias por el vídeo, estuvo genial. Me parece una cámara estupenda, sólo me queda ver los resultados de algún carrete. Un saludo.

    No you paid 629 + tax in Canada. Most everywhere in Canada that comes out to 780$ not 680$. I work in manufacturing and I know the costs. In plastic molding it is actually a lot more expensive and difficult than you think. The fit of the back is most likely based on the engineering tolerances that they set for it. Does it annoy you? Yes. Does it affect the camera? No. Otherwise they wouldn't have allowed it on the market. That's what tolerances are.

      I paid $680 at the store plus 12% tax.

    Customers shouldn't have to hack a $500 camera to improve its build quality. Return it for replacement; if that one has the same issue, demand a refund.
